Set in Aljezur, 17 mi from Lagos and at 1.9 mi from Arrifana Beach, Utopia Guest House features a unique décor, with soft colors and stone and wood details.
Small and peaceful, this hotel is a great place to relax and explore the sandy beaches of Costa Vicentina Natural Park. It offers an outdoor pool with a spacious sun deck.

The location was great for walking the Fisherman’s Trail - the staff were amazing and very helpful. The room was clean and beds were very comfortable. Loved sitting out by the pool array to read and relax. The breakfast included was very generous and tasty. The property is great value for the stay.

I am afraid of dogs and owner had said there were dogs, but she allowed a dog access to our “private” bedroom… it was very uncomfortable, so we left and she successfully re-sold our room.

Great value all around. Three separate guest rooms, lots of space in the common area, nice pool, enough chairs for everyone indoors and outdoors. Very clean. Excellent interactions with staff via direct text messages (via the booking.com app). You absolutely need a car to get there, but parking is easy at all times (just don't expect fully paved roads!).

Aljezur is a great location to visit if you like nature, surfing, good food, a slower pace of life. I would recommend staying in Aljezur, getting a car to drive around to different beaches and villages where you can find good restaurants. In the evening, in Aljezur, always book ahead a table.

A magical small village with tiny streets and houses, nice restaurants The river is full of life, edpecially dozens of turtles sun bathing. the beaches are close and the castle above the city gives a nice overview although it is just a ruin.
nice massage at “em boas maos“ at the other side of the river in the new part of town.
there is also a nice walkway east of the castle directly below with benches to rest and look over the whole village and countryside.

We hope to return.
We hope to return. The presence of an active cultural life was important for us. We felt like we were in a town and region alive and not just a tourist setting.
By the way, asking these questions in English also, would be helpful.

What I liked is that it is truly a get away from the busier touristy parts of Portugal. What I didn't like is that google maps has its location for a national park located in the middle of a farm that has sand on the surrounding roads that are easy to get stuck in.

If you want to explore the west coast of Portugal Aljezur is a good choice for a stop over. We travelled from the south and beaches we visited on our way were spectacular. Going North this morning it was equally as good.
Wonderful place, brand new house with big living room and kitchen and cosy, spacious and comfortable ensuite rooms. The bed is comfortable, the kitchen is well equipped and the house has a lovely swimming pool too. It’s located in a quiet area of Vale da Telha, just a few minutes drive from Arrifana beach. There’s some restaurants and bars nearby, but not close enough to disrupt the peaceful setting. Valerio is a nice host, friendly, welcoming and always available either in person or on the phone. Definitely a recommendable place to stay!
We liked:
• The spaciousness of the place.
• The decor and style in main hotel building.
• Friendly attitudes of most staff
• They ordered us flowers 💐 when we asked.
• Surrounding nature is beautiful and perfect if you want away from civilization.
• Sauna high quality
• Lovely breakfasts
• Great fireplace in the bar 🍸 👏
• Really nice little boutique clothes shop.
• The Nepalese house keeping team are ace.
• Front of house staff are always ready to help.
Emmanuel showed me the place and was extremely friendly and helpful. Answered questions I had and even came to the rescue with a phone charger when I lost mine. The hotel consists of different rooms (mine had a balcony), a shared kitchen, living room, and bathrooms. Everything is clean and there is plenty of room. It’s a very short walk to several restaurants by the church, which is one of the central points in town.
This is one of the best places we have stayed in Portugal while doing the Rota Vicentina. We got a private room with bathroom for an incredible price!!! We are actually going to stay 2 more nights. Need a break/rest days from trail. Free laundry. Super affordable. Highly recommend. We are 2 friends in 40s and 50s. Free coffee and tea. Excellent rooftop terrace. Great shower. Excellent location. Great hangout space.
It is an eclectic & charming little hotel in a quiet area of Aljezur. It was a delightful stop on this section of our Rota Vicentina journey.
My husband & I were warmly welcomed by staff and they kindly allowed us to keep our bags for several hours before check-in. We liked it enough to stay a second night.
Beautiful house, peaceful environment, heavenly pool, large bedrooms and lovely breakfast. Everything is made to feel comfortable and peaceful. The nearby town of Aljezur has plenty of good restaurant options, and the surfing, beaches and hiking areas are a mere 15min away.
100% recommended.
The property is designed beautifully and tastefully. The hotel, situated in a park setting, allows for deep relaxation. The pool area was very enjoyable. The staff was always gracious. I was appreciative to find a small luxury hotel in that area of Portugal.
The breakfast was good. Fresh fruits and bread were available every morning. There's a very nice beach not so far from the hotel.
The room has a nice balcony where you can enjoy the sunset.
Everyone is very kind and the hotel very clean.
Breakfast had a wide variety
Nicely decorated spacious room with balcony
Rennovated bathroom with nice shower
Good bathroom amenities
Beds were comfortable
Quite a few beaches & restaurants nearby
Such a beautiful place! The owners are amazing and there‘s so much love in every detail of the house! Also the breakfast is just great. 100% recommend this place for a stay in portugal.
Fantastic hostess, great muffins - a great option for breakfast the next day. Nearby there is a very good restaurant and a shop where you can eat breakfast, buy a sandwich on the road.
Good location in between old and newer part of town
Good and generous served breakfast
The hotel is rather old fashioned, but everything works well (do not expect a 4 star luxury)
We felt at home. We had all the appliances needed. The beach is really near. Good vegan restaurants near the area.
Having a private pool makes a different. We will visit again!
Very welcoming and friendly, brilliant bar restaurant downstairs with lovely food. Nice breakfast and near the Rota Vincentina trail which we were walking.
