Very helpful staff, who will help you with queries and provide all necessary info. Absolutely convenient location- bang opposite the Express bus terminal (Mind you, there are two bus terminals in Sokcho. One is Intercity bus terminal, and the other is Express bus terminal. This place is opposite Express bus terminal). Hardly a minute walk to the Sokcho beach. And right outside the hotel exit is the bus stop where you can take the bus to your destination. Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Seoraksan entrance gate(first bus is at 6.30 AM). E mart convenience store is right in front, and so is Lotteria restaurant where I have had the most amazing vegan burger ever!! Our room had one double bed and two small beds, and also a small kitchenette where you can cook. In the basement there`s another common kitchen, and billiards tables. There`s no in house restaurant, but there are a lot of restaurants/ cafes around, so no worries!!

Getting to Sokcho is pretty easy from Seoul. Perfect place for sea food lovers! Beaches are very clean. And all the places are accessible by public transport bus. Pizzalazza restaurant for pizzas, Lotteria for vegan burgers- highly recommended. Sokcho eye gives you a very beautiful view of the city. Naksansa temple is very beautiful. So is Seoraksan national park- treat for nature lovers, both are easily accessible by bus.

A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park.
A popular gateway for visiting Seoraksan National Park. Sokcho Tourist & Fishery Market is a large traditional market offering many local products (eg. fresh and dried seafood) and local street food. Convenient bus services operate within Sokcho and out of Sokcho. There is a beach at the southern end of the city. We saw several new high rise buildings under construction indicating further expansion of the city in the near future.

I really like to visit seoraksan national park for mount hiking.
I visited Sokcho fish market and had King crab.
Bus 7 and 7-1 go to Sokcho express bus terminal/ Sokcho intercity bus terminal/ Sokcho seafood market.
I used to stay resort before. It is nice and good scenery but I had to use taxi all the time. I stayed near Sokcho express bus terminal/Sokcho beach this time, it save lots of transportation cost, so I enjoyed king crab.

Sokcho is a great city.
Sokcho is a great city. It is close to the national park, and the park is exceptional. The beach is nice. Public transit is clean and efficient. Taxis are readily available and clean/safe. Restaurants, cafes and market food options are unlimited.
The is a not springs foot bath in Sockcho that I have never experience elsewhere and is a great stop. We could have spent a week in the National Park on trails.

The beach was nice: not too crowded on week days but a little overcrowded on weekends. The sand was a little rough, so by the end of the day my feet were sore. If I went again I would only stay Monday-Friday, as parking near the beach was impossible to find on Saturday.

Visions of Sokcho: where the mountains meet the sea.
Sokcho-si is a beautiful coastal city located in the northeast of the Gangwon-Do province of South Korea.
The city is famous for its history, culture, national parks, natural beauty, and local cuisine. The city is a popular gateway to the famous Seoraksan National Park.
Unfortunately it was raining and we couldn't hike Seoraksan, but we were able to stroll around the city.
I had such a pleasant stay at The House Hostel that I extended my stay by another day. The location is well located and easily accessible from both bus terminals. The manager was very kind and helpful. He provided a map of the city, explaining how to get to popular spots, as well as gave some great food suggestions. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom was perfect. There's even a gorgeous patio area for people to relax in. The House Hostel will be my preferred accommodation destination next time I travel to Sokcho.
I had the standard twin room. Did not have breakfast in the hotel. The location was smack in the middle town although probably not near any bus terminal (or I couldn't see any) since we came by car. I love the view of my hotel room because it had both the city view plus partial of the lake or sea view (i think it was a lake). The bed was great and the pillows had oomph! (it was definitely not flat!). I had a very sound sleep or maybe it was the soju that did the trick! Very up to-date amenities like charging sockets etc in the room.
What a beautiful place to stay! My room (spacious, welcoming, very modern and with a great bathroom) and a balcony overlooking the sea. The hotel is in a magical spot, not in the centre of Sokcho (but I had been there before, I wanted to explore the area) and you can really get an authentic experience with the atmosphere and the food. The convenience store inside the hotel is not a rarity in Korea, but I am still not used to it, I think it's so cool and convenient :) Super recommend if you want to visit the Daepo Port area.
The hostel is in a amazing location just meters away from one of the bus stations and within walking distance from the market and beach.
The hostel in itself is very cozy/clean and it was easy to meet people there that I ended up hiking Seoraksan national park with and drinking beers/ talking with in the evening. The owner of the hostel is very kind, sweet and helpful and he makes tasty sandwiches for breakfast. I really enjoyed my time at the hostel and would recommend everyone who comes to sokcho to also stay there.
This place was wonderful. The hosts were so friendly, helpful, and kind! They helped us a lot with transit logistics to and from Sokcho, and gave great information about the area and the national park. It is a hiking hostel type accommodation, not a fancy hotel, which suited us perfectly. The room was very comfortable and clean. It was an easy 25-30 minute walk from the Red House to the national park entrance on a wide sidewalk. We would absolutely stay here again-- we loved it.
James is SO kind and helpful. He was able to give us food recs for the area, tips for getting to the national park, and help us book the bus onward to Jeonju. The breakfast here is simple but since most stays in Korea don't have free breakfast this was wonderful. Best of all, the rooms are super clean and warm and the place is within walking distance to the local bus terminal and within walking distance of all the attractions you might want to see in Sokcho town.
Spotless rooms for a very good price. Free shampoo, noodles, breakfast and coffee. The area is a bit run down with lots of empty hotels, no clue why, but that doesn’t make it feel unsafe. The owners great and does his best to make you feel comfortable. There’s a direct bus going to the park. We chose to walk back from the park which took 40min. You can also stay in Sokcho, but we liked the calm vibe outside of the chaotic city and close to the park.
The staff was extremely kind. My first room had a problem with the TV, so the manager moved me into another room as soon as he could! He first went to check and make sure the TV worked of course. The view was also really nice, especially for the price! The location is pretty good as well. It is close to some good tourist spots, such as the lighthouse and the fishery market. It is also a short bus ride away from the Sokcho Eye ferris wheel.
Great location opposite the beach and a short walk from the express bus terminal. The deluxe double room was spacious, clean and had everything you need including: storage space, kettle, microwave, fridge, etc. There’s a 24h 7/11 store in the hotel and a lot of little restaurants close by. Great service as well, spoke English at the desk and stored luggage for the morning after check out. Highly recommended!
Only 5 minutes walk from Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, which was critical to us. A few minutes from Sokcho beach. Reasonably central to the city. Extremely spacious becauase this resort used to be 'condominium'. All cooking utensils are in the kitchen cupboard. Staff were helpful in keeping luggage before check-in & after check-out.
My family of 5 loved this Bed and Breakfast. This was our first time visiting Sokcho and it was a great choice staying at this location. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating! The breakfast was great, beds were comfortable and rooms were clean. Will definitely book here again!
Absolutely amazing staff service. Not only was the man extremely kind, but he instantly got out a map and helped us with all of our planning for the following day. He knew everything; from which bus to take to the mountains, where to eat and how to get back to the bus terminal the next day.
Nice large room, fantastic view, location to the beach and bus terminal, on-site bakery cafe and convenience store. Nice new apartment size refrigerator and freezer in the room, dining table with two chairs, nice bathroom with rain showerhead, and high tech toilet
The room was clean, location is very convenient - right at the Sokcho Express Bus Terminal, 5 minutes by walk to the Sokcho Eye and Sokcho beach. Very friendly guy at the reception who gave me some practical info regarding my trip to the Seoraksan National Park.
Great hostel, room was very clean and spacious, with comfortable bed and a nice bathroom. The host cooked breakfast for us as well, which was a lovely surprise! Convenient location next to the intercity bus terminal, and close to some good restaurants.
James was really nice! He was extremely helpful and showed us everything that we needed to know about sokcho! They had a small American breakfast and free water dispensers.
The sokcho bus terminal was 10 minutes by foot.
