Location was excellent. Everything else was adequate. I must say though the last night we were told they were moving us to another hotel (Best Western) which was closer to the airport with much better facilities and dinner was on them, which was most appreciated

Edgy and eclectic, Palermo is a symbol of all that Sicily stands for. From buzzing Vespas to the bustling Vucciria market, it simply brims with life.
Wonderful Palermo Cathedral glows radiantly in the Mediterranean sun. Nearby is the city’s last Sicilian Puppet Theater, and across the street is a palm-filled park housing Roman mosaics, though the best are in the archeological museum. At one end is the Norman Palace, a government building home to the fabulous Cappella Palatina, whose gold mosaics are absolutely breathtaking.
Equally magnificent are the gold mosaics lining the 12th-century Monreale Cathedral on the city’s outskirts. Wander the cloisters and note the varying columns and capitals – each pair is different.
Palermo also has fascinating churches: 2 of the oldest are 12th-century San Giovanni degli Eremeti and San Cataldo, each with red, Islamic-style domes. Gesú Church has an incredible Sicilian Baroque interior, while La Martorana’s frescoes are awe-inspiring. A street away is Quattro Canti, an intersection with a fountain in each corner.
Other attractions include the round Teatro Massimo, Mondello beach and Monte Pellegrino mountain overlooking the sea. You get fabulous views of this picnic spot as you fly into Palermo Airport before heading to your Booking.com accommodations.
I thought Palermo was unloved and uncared for. The pavements are broken so you can’t walk on them. The roads potholes everywhere. The people were miserable, disinterested in politeness. Felt unsafe walking in the evening as many young people in groups on scooters riding precariously. The food we tried was low standard for the price, ( touristy). Taxi’s very expensive 30-40 Euro for a 10-20 min journey.

At first, it was a great shock entering the city.
At first, it was a great shock entering the city. So dirty, full of garbage and food waste in the streets. We saw people sleeping on the mattress in front of the church. Nobody cleans after dogs, and even after horses that take tourists for a ride in a carriage.
For dining, we took a wrong turn from the central squre and went down Via Vittorio Emmanuelle in direction of the sea. Wich was a mistake. Lot of fast food eateries, offering more or less same bad menu.
Next 2 days we discovered there are good restaurants (like Salina on Via Maqueda) offering fresh fish, sea shels, shrimps and lobsters. And even street food dining can be a treat (like in Ciurma, again on Via Maqueda). Slowly we started appreciating the charm of the city and it's inhabitants. We had a good time after all.

It was a great stay and I'm happy that I did so.
It was a great stay and I'm happy that I did so. I stayed for one week.
It was pretty. Beautiful buildings. Great food.
But it was also very dirty, it often smelled bad, sightings like the Vucciria or the markets looked much nicer in the promotion pictures, there was no real promenade and I expected the downtown area to be much bigger and to offer more things to do and to see tbh.
Funny side "story":
Got chatted up five times by Italian men, everytime asking me, if I would know where the next Tabacco Shop would be. No matter what you answer they immediately introduce themselves to you with name, age, profession, asking you, where you come from and no matter what you say, they have been there or plan to go there, next month, this year, next year. They all said that it's "good luck" or "common" or "just polite" to ask you for your number or invite you for drinks or dinner. FIVE TIMES, SAME CONVERSATION! At least three wearing wedding rings.
Maybe there's a podcast with the newest trick to chat up women they all follow 😄

A city of friendly people, beautiful, but often run down, historical architecture, many dining options, crazy drivers, lively night life, graffiti and litter (sadly both everywhere).
Well worth a visit. Handy base for doing trips to other places of interest like Cefalu.

Great architecture and food.
Great architecture and food. Mondello beach is fabulous and monte pellogrino is a fun climb. The buses are awful or don’t seem to exist except for the 101/2/4, the 806 to mondello, and the 812 to monte pellogrino - trying to cross the city east/west is seemingly impossible by bus!

There is so much history and beautiful architecture in Palermo and you would need to stay a long time to visit every Church,Museum and tourist site.Generally the local people are very helpful and warm.Like any big city there is a litter problem and quite a lot of grafitti but the beauty of everything else makes up for those issues I think. The public transport is good allowing visits to other parts of the island easy without a car for example Mondello Beach,Cefalu,Monreale just for starters. This is my fourth trip to Sicily and it will not be my last. Was lucky to get tickets for the opera which was beautiful.
The hotel is situated in Via Roma near the railway station. An excellent starting point for exploring Palermo. It is on the four floors of the building. There is a friendly old fashion typical Italian-style elevator. There is a reception, and the staff is very helpful and polite. They will give you information about Palermo and Sicily. The room is extra big. There is air conditioning in the room. The breakfast is more than classical Italian. You can choose various options and also they will ask you to offer more food and drinks.
Lovely boutique hotel in the middle of Palermo. The staff were wonderful and breakfast was perfect. We had a market tour and cooking class with Carlo, the hotel chef, and it was the best we have ever experienced. Linda provided the translation and helped us tremendously.
We parked our car in a garage about 1 mile from the hotel for our two night stay and walked everywhere. Definitely the way to do it!
The hotel was very clean and housekeeping did a wonderful job.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in Palermo!
This hotel made our visit to Palermo 100% more enjoyable. It is a historical site with many artifacts and collections which added to the uniqueness of the experience. On top of this the owner and staff were so friendly, helpful and went beyond their means to make their clients happy. The staff and Alessandro alone would make us want to come back. They have accommodated for our really early departure and tours. We were made to feel at home. I would totally recommend this hotel if you are visiting Sicily
I stayed here for only 1 night, but I felt how caring and responsive the owner is. It was interesting to talk with him about Palermo and Sicily, people's customs and culture. In general, I have noticed that people here are very friendly and open. I really liked the location of the accommodation. It is such a prestigious and quiet area of the city. I discovered the divine cafe Spinnato, which is next to the hotel. I have never drunk such delicious coffee!
Thank you for your hospitality!
Giovanni is an incredible host. He took me sightseeing twice.! I did stay two weeks, but he is above and beyond an ambassador for Palermo and Sicily!
The first time he contacted me to go places, I thought he had hit the wrong contact in his phone! His response was, "No, that is how we are here: Welcoming...."
If you stay at Don Giovanni's, maybe: buy bread from the man on the street, meat at local meat cutter's, and veggies at the B Market--live like an Italian!
Thank you for such a wonderful stay. The boat is absolutely beautiful and Luana and Salvatore were the best hosts. We spent 2 days out sailing to some beautiful locations around Sicily. The hospitality was just amazing! Luana was a phenomenal cook as well. We got a flat tire on our rental car prior to arriving to the boat and Salvatore personally took us the day we checked out to a mechanic to help us get it fixed. We cannot thank them enough for the best stay!
The apartment is like new , good quality fittings, clean and spacious , in the centre of the old town of Palermo, walking distance of everything. The elevator is a bonus in Sicily. Cristin was very professional, helpful and accommodating, she is working at the office from 9 to 1 and can arrange and explain all the things your can explore in Palermo . She also arranged a driver to leave for the airport. We recommend Ponticello apartments to anyone.
The host was very friendly and gave some helpful advice about where to eat and shuttle bus to airport etc. When he wasn't there his son was just as friendly . The room was very large, very comfortable and kept clean by a nice lady. The location is excellent for the centre of Palermo everywhere within walking distance. The breakfast was impressive, quality and selection is the best we have had in Sicily. We would definitely stay here again
Excellent location in beautiful building. Very lively neighborhood in the very center of Palermo. Spacious apartment with very good furnishing. Vincenzo made sure that we were comfortable and found our way.
As I wrote before, this is a very lively neighborhood. You will hear the sounds of Sicily on the street while staying here, but don’t let that discourage you: It’s impossible to stay in the center of Palermo expecting otherwise.
location was central and room was very nice, spacious, quiet and comfortable. but best, I have to say the best staff on our one month trip to Sicily. so warm, went out of way to help with travel questions, served super good Italian breakfast with changes every day. All the staff were great and hotel is very nice, yet feels homey. have garden with big mosaic, have a bar for happy hour. near Teatro Massimo( we walked to concert).
Located in Ballarò (downtown), next to one of the oldest street markets in Palermo, the most lively one and surely picturesque of Sicily. Nice room and bathroom, with the best breakfast in town (and the best I have tried in Sicily). And all thanks to its host, Mariella 🌞. She is a wonderful human being who makes you feel at home. I cannot describe anything else, just try it.
The property was excellent! The staff enhanced this making our stay awesome! Good location. Nice rooms and great outside patio area. I really can’t say enough good things about property and especially our host. She make excellent recommendations, helped with airport transfer, trip to beach and even breakfast. Best host and stay on our two week Italy vacation!
Friendly staff - we were able to upgrade from the B&B to their hotel down the street for a small extra fee. They also helped us to find free parking right outside. Unbelievable breakfast! We stayed at 5 different places in Sicily and no other location even came close to this breakfast.
The general design and architecture of the building and the rooms was very cool.
What a great spot in Palermo. Casa Nostra Boutique is a stunning hotel in a superb location.
Room was excellent and the decor was fresh, with everything catered for. Excellent food. Plenty of choice from the buffet at breakfast & hot breakfasts can be ordered.
Amenities and spa are excellent but it is the courteous, authentic staff who made the stay worthwhile!
The hotel was very well located within a very short walk to the famous Quattro Canti. The host Laura was awesome with us always wanting the best experience for our stay not to mention she is an artist. She prepares the most authentic breakfast in Sicily. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone visiting Palermo.
The staff was very friendly and super helpful and the hotel looks really like on the pictures. There is a special athmosphere there as it used to be a church. Also you are greated with some local pastry and a drink while they explain to you the map of Palermo, that was such a nice welcome to Sicily for us!
Really well appointed rooms and in a superb location near some of the best bars and restaurants in Palermo. Lovely attention to detail with lighting and the bed was the most comfortable of our trip. Feels more like a boutique hotel room.
It is a great place to visit Palermo. Breakfast was the best in all Sicily. We travelled all around island and this place was the best. The host was kind and helpfull. The bed was comfortable. I recommend.
Amazing location, super clean apartment, and FANTASTIC air conditioning! After walking all day in sweltering Palermo, the AC was a huge bonus. Our best stay in Sicily.
