Truro is a lovely city in Cornwall. People are friendly and hospitable. Tons of restaurants, shops, cafe's, and there is a Town Hall that has entertainment, movie house so a short stay here would be filled with lots to do. The Cathedral is a lovely place to visit and there is lots to do from this central point.
Hire a car and head to Newquay, Falmouth or St Ives for the day.

City centre was lovely!
City centre was lovely! We enjoyed meandering through the cathedral (which was very grand, the architecture absolutely brought me to tears, managed to light a prayer candle for lent, also they have an ongoing exhibit about awareness of abuse in the church) and the cornwall museum is closeby :D they have wacky artefacts. The coffee and cornish pasties and the pastries are the bomb dot com but the other grub not so much, i mean, it's just typical british fare innit haha also truro station connects easily to penzance and the other more touristy bits. Transportationwise, quite hard, buses are a little but unreliable even with the time table. Not much uber drivers but the taxis are popping. There are taxis around the station and they have a taxi calling app and there are cards that you can get from the accommodation. Pretty old timey but charming.

Truro is an attractive small city and it’s easy to find parking and to walk around the shops and see the cathedral.
There are plenty of places to have coffee or lunch.
The bus station is right beside the shopping area, which has a large Marks and Spencer’s, which has a cafe, a large branch of Waterstones as well as a good selection of independent shops and an indoor market.

Great base for exploring Cornwall but not sure what it’s like in summer. We parked in the town with ease but we visited in November.
Masses of shops. It is the county town so is a magnet for shoppers.
Cathedral and Cornwall Museum worth a visit. Hall for Cornwall has a variety of shows.
Thoroughly enjoyed the pasty shop for lunch.
Check roadworks though. A30 was closed intoTrurofor the whole weekend whilst work is going on building the new by pass. It took us ages to follow the detour.

I did want to explore the town a bit more, especially the cathedral, but this visit was to see a show and I had to return the next day.
I had a meal at an Italian restaurant literally up the road from the hotel, it was decent enough.

Truro is a lovely place to visit.
Truro is a lovely place to visit. Old and new buildings to see and plenty of places to go. Resturants of many different cuisines and a nice open area to sit and chill with a coffee. There is a beach, about 7 miles away, (Perranporth) which is lovely and has the traiditional fish and chips, kiss me quick hats etc and you're not too far away from the north side so Newquay etc is all available within 45 to 60 minutes in the car.
Supermarkets are a plenty in and around Truro too. The catherdral is a must to visit. A beautiful building and well worth some time spent.
What I didnt like was my room being accessed whilst I was occupying by a new guest whom had been given keys to my room and wished to checkin to my already occupied room.
I didn't like that they couldnt fulfil a request to upgrade me to a courtyard room, even though I asked three times during the process without an additional fee. Unfortunately the hotel promptly went ahead and recharged the full stay again to my credit card even after Booking.com already having charged for the full stay ahead of checkin.
The saty was NOta good one.
Immaculate. Clean, cosy, beautifully decorated and very functional kitchen with lovely breakfast area for the family and a huge bathroom with bath and separate shower. Nice big TV in the living room. Nothing was too much hassle for them; my wife couldn't find a hairdryer and called Mike who brought a new one within 20 mins! Location is perfect. Truro is very centrally located for the whole of Cornwall. The gorgeous cathedral and town are a short walk from the apartment. Parking in the back garden was very easy and plenty of space.
The caravan was spotless and the kitchen was all in good working order. The bathroom was massive with a separate shower and full bath.
The hosts were great and helpful and also provided some Cornish goodies.
The view across the farm was beautiful with wild rabbits, peacocks next door and other wildlife.
Great location, literally 5 minutes drive to Perranporth Beach and 5 minutes from the main dual carriage way which runs through Cornwall.
We organised a last minute break 4 night break to Cornwall and chose Chycara because it was within budget, the location was perfect and the accommodation was different to what we’d normally book (a b&b/hotel). We stayed in the Lake Lodge which was, as you’d expect, near the lake. It was clean and tidy and located in beautiful, peaceful grounds. Set just outside of Truro we were within easy reach of the east & west coast.
Perfect location for our evening out in Truro to visit the hall for Cornwall. The hotel was clean and comfortable and was beautiful. The staff were excellent from start to end of our stay and could not of been any more helpful.
Really liked the selection of luxury goodies in the bathroom and also the little jar of homemade biscuits, water bottle & drinks selection was a lovely touch.
Breakfast was great also,
Had an amazing stay. The rooms were great and morning breakfast was amazing. The hosts were amazing and were very helpful in suggesting the right places to visit and transportation options. Both Norbet and Peter were really friendly and would like to thank them for all the support they provided us during our first visit to cornwall. Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting cornwall and truro.
A great location with amazing, huge rooms which were extremely comfortable. The Townhouse has a pretty garden that you can sit out and relax whenever you want to. We had a continental breakfast delivered to our room each morning which you could eat either in your room or in the garden. We also had room service each day of our stay! I cannot recommend this hotel enough! I cannot wait to go back!
This is my second time coming to this lovely hotel.
We got upgraded to a bigger room, although all rooms are big! The hotel staff were so nice, and accommodating to our needs.
Beds, room, toilet, are comfy and modern, you feel like you're at your home but on holiday!
We extended our stay there, because everything was just perfect!
I'd definitely recommend it to anyone going to Truro.
Well what can I say!! Gorgeous cottage very tastefully furnished and decorated.beautiful garden.the host thought of everything a personalized card and scones and jam on arrival lovely touch.and treats and a towel for the dog.everything there for you just had to buy food.lovely thoughtful hosts and perfect base for visiting other parts of Cornwall.
The house is beautiful, room clean warm and comfy.
with in very easy walking distance to the cathedral and town shopping.
The owners both extremely friendly guys, and the Breakfast was exceptional, quite honestly one of the best we have ever eaten, Best quality products and all served hot, promptly and with a smile
The location is pretty good. Truro wasn't anything special to us and our goal was to visit the rest of Cornwall which we did. We did enjoy having the modernized outlets on each side of the bed. The staff is wonderful and the morning breakfast was very nice. The Co-op store is open later and we visited often.
We enjoyed a pleasant two night stay in the County Arms. Facilities were good. Room was warm and comfortable and all staff were very pleasant. Ideally located in the outskirts of Truro, the property makes an ideal base for touring the south coast of Cornwall.
Close to town centre, good restaurants near by.
Sadly no cooked breakfasts due to Covid safety measures but very filling continental breakfast bags were delivered outside our room each morning.
Truro really good centre for trips to all areas of Cornwall.
The apartment was a welcoming, cozy place to call home for several days. It had everything in it that you would need.
Warm and comfortable.
It is located in a quiet village not far from Truro. Perfect for exploring Cornwall.
Excellent location, quiet but close to Truro and the Saturday farmers market, several National Trust properties and gardens. Comfortable, well equipped apartment with friendly, helpful hosts. Highly recommend.
The hotel was comfortable, & the staff very friendly. The hotel is situated in a quiet leafy part of Truro, not far from the city centre and close to some of Truro's fine resteraunts . I would visit again.
Lovely house and very good confortable spacious room. Owners were extremely friendly and ready to provide information on Cornwall and sites. Ben is a great cook and made us superb breakfasts!
It was clean, very comfortable, the hostess met me at the hotel and showed me everything .
Snacks were provided as breakfast not available.Everything in the room worked.
