There is plenty to see and do in Dublin itself as well as the outlying areas. Temple bar is a good place to start but be careful as prices can be high in this area. The transport system is adequate with plenty of buses and this is supplemented by the Luis tram service. The fares are quite cheap especially when you look at the prices for buses and trams in England.

Bustling, multicultural city.
Bustling, multicultural city. We took one of the hop on hop off buses and all the drivers were friendly, knowledgeable and witty. Again, the guide at the Castle gave us its history in a very interesting, clever and funny way. We felt safe, engaged and happy in the short time my friend and I were there. Our hotel was at the top of O'Connell Street and we were recommended the Parnell Heritage Pub and Grill on Parnell Street and we weren't disappointed. Excellent food, reasonably priced, nothing very much more than 20 euros.

A trip to Ireland is not complete without Dublin.
A trip to Ireland is not complete without Dublin. I did everything I wanted in two full days but for long days trips (Galway, Cong, etc) add another day per trip. Found places with good prices so shop around.
Comfy compact room with everything you need. Had A great nights sleep. toiletries, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, plenty of towels, air con / heating , tea coffee and biscuits, check out at 11 so time to recover from a great night around dublin. Ideal for a weekend trip in the city.
The room was lovely, spacious and very clean. The bed was super comfortable. The facilities were excellent, the TV was a good size and nice to have a coffee maker. The location was excellent with shops and cafes around and the city centre within easy reach. The staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The price was reasonable for a fairly central hotel in Dublin.
The staff was amazing and very welcoming. They gave us great suggestions for breakfast places nearby and were always ready to help out. The hotel is very close to a major shopping area and a 10 minute walk from Connolly Train Station which is helpful if you want to take public transit to other parts of Ireland. We walked everywhere in Dublin and it was great.
Great hotel super location. We booked last minute as we needed to stay in the Dublin we only live in Wicklow. On site parking is excellent and a rarity in the city centre. The rooms have been beautifully renovated and the beds are huge (super king), very comfortable. It’s a lovely quaint hotel in a fab location. I would recommend and certainly stay again.
I love the fact that the dart, which is the mass transit train system was literally a half a block away and took you right into downtown dublin. We love the universal living room for te a and the fact that they had cakes and snacks during the afternoon. The breakfast was as good as any we experienced in our two weeks in Ireland.
The hotels location was outstanding. Walking distance to all the major sites, great places to eat and many wonderful places to hear wonderful music and make great memories. The staff was very pleasant, helpful and knowledgeable. It was the very best way to finish our 3 week stay in Ireland.
Location was excellent within easy walking distance of major Dublin landmarks, pubs and shops. We walked to the National Museum of Ireland, Trinity College, Dublin Castle, and St. Patricks Cathedral. St. Stephen’s Green is 1/2 block away as are the shops and pubs on King Street and Grafton St.
The hotel is located in a good location, not far from the city centre. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was rather small and simple, but it was clean and it had everything we needed for our prolonged weekend in Dublin. Good value for money.
Myself and my partner have stayed constantly 2 - 3 times a week at Motel One. It’s absolutely, hands down, the best hotel for the cost in Dublin City Centre. With its location, facilities and above all amazing staff, you cannot go wrong!
