I recently stayed at Eviana Homestay and it was an unforgettable experience. Run by a welcoming couple, this homestay offers a perfect blend of comfort, hospitality, and breathtaking natural beauty. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable, with spotless toilets and stunning views of the Himalayas. During my stay, the hosts walked with me for a whole morning, showing me the village, the river, and the surrounding areas. Though my visit was short—just two days—I spent my time soaking in the tranquility, reading a book, and enjoying the delicious home-cooked meals and tea. Waking up to the serene mountain vistas was a highlight. The food was extraordinary. Every meal was home-cooked by the hostess using fresh ingredients from their garden, including vegetables and herbs. The meat, such as chicken and fish, was also sourced sustainably. Each meal was a delight, but the tea was particularly special—hand-rolled Darjeeling tea from their garden, served with milk from their own cow. From the moment I arrived, the hosts made me feel like family. They were incredibly patient, answering all my questions and ensuring I had everything I needed. They provided detailed information on how to reach the homestay and suggested activities to do in the area. Their adorable daughter, Eviana, quickly warmed up to me, adding a special touch to my stay. The location of the homestay is spectacular. Nestled on a mountainside and surrounded by the Sikkim Himalayas, it is a quiet and remote retreat. The final stretch to the homestay involves a bit of off-roading, but the hosts arranged transport at a minimal cost. The area is beautifully decorated with a variety of flowers, and the friendly dogs on the property were an added bonus. Overall, my stay at Eviana Homestay was a perfect blend of peace and activity. The hospitality, comfort, and beauty of the location made it a memorable experience. I highly recommend this homestay to anyone looking for a serene retreat near Darjeeling.
