The hotel is a bit old school posh, really cool. The staff is wonderful, the room is big and cozy. There is tea and coffee and a small fridge in the room.
The bathroom is huge with a big bathtub.
The spa was quite nice, a good sauna and a pool of a decent size.
The shower head was too small, so taking a shower was a bit irritating.
The pillows were flat and hard

Nice has much to offer. It is vibrant and beautiful.
Nice has much to offer. It is vibrant and beautiful. You’ll never be bored. There are galleries to visit. There are trips by train to Monaco or Eze or Antibes. The excellent public transport, including the tram, makes it so easy to get about. There is an endless selection of places to eat and drink or have a coffee. Another major attraction for us was the flat, scenic cycle path between Nice and Antibes.

Nice city, plenty to see and do just within Nice but ideal as a base to visit more along the coast e.g Villefranche Sur Mer, Cap ferrat, Beaulieu Sur Mer, Monaco, Antibe, Cannes, Ventimiglia.
A good choice of places to eat and drink but can get very busy during high season and during festivals.

This was my second visit to Nice. I love the city. Easy to navigate, and great public transit to get around. Visit the Saturday market in Old Town and also recommend Liberation Market.
So much fun to take the train as well and do easy day trips to towns like Menton and Ville Franche. I was there during the Nice Carnvial ---the evening parade was spectacular! Family friendly events.

Nice has plenty of style and has managed to retain its Belle Époque atmosphere and preserve the facades of many of its magnificent nineteenth century buildings. At the same time it is very modern and chic with lots of expensive shops and restaurants. As in all cities, you have to be willing and able to walk quite a lot. Though we did not go out late at night, the city felt safe and well lit.
It is a very good centre from which to explore this beautiful, if over-developed coast and the bus and tram services are excellent. Public transport is very cheap, with tickets that permit you to change from tram to bus and vice versa, and travel for some distance outside town. It is well worth getting to grips with the system. You can get a bus pass at the bus office, Ligne d' Azur, opposite the station. .
We were there in February when the weather was cold but bright and ideal for walking. The lack of shade along the Promenade des Anglais and the beach must make Nice very hot in summer.

Love this place, best hotel on my 6 week trip in France. My room was in the turret, felt like a princess. The view and the light were soul lifting.
The location is perfect, especially with the new tram stop close by, either direct to the airport, or to the old port of Lympia which I'm just discovering. Staff and decorations....just cant say enough.
Have to give a shout to Cycle Nice with Mathieu for an incredible history tour of old Nice.
Lovely hotel and great location. Rooms very clean and quiet and staff were extremely kind and pleasant. A great hotel if you want to be next to Nice Ville train station and there is a tram stop a 1 minute walk away. Perfect for travellers and early morning trains to explore the rest of the south of France. Highly recommend and the lobby area was absolutely stunning!
Very clean, comfortable, standard room. Close to the train station (2 min walk) for easy access to other places in south of France (Monaco, Cannes etc). About 15min walk down to beach and 20min walk to old town Nice - all very accessible.
Trams were very easy to use + receptionist was very helpful with recommendations.
location was ideal, 2 minute walk to train station & then around 15-20 mins to old town nice and the beach. Breakfast excellent lots of variety and sets you up for the day. Rooms big and airy lots of space in comparison to previous hotels stayed in france
We had an amazing time with a great vacation here in Hotel de France, Nice, the stuff’s kindness and the hotel’s delicious breakfast made our stay even more memorable.
