Medellín is very rich in culture. The locals were very welcoming and informative. I felt very safe there as a black woman. Uber is the best way to get around to any places that aren’t walkable for you. The food is great, my favorite restaurant of my stay was Idílico. Reserve the chefs tasting if you can, you won’t regret it. Book a day trip from Medellin to Guatape through Viator, you will love it. Take a moment to visit Comuna 13. I’ve never seen anything like it. Book an exotic fruit tasting/cocktail class as well. Medellin was definitely a trip to remember!

It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space.
It was a beautiful city with a lot of green space. I really enjoyed the energy and resilience of the people. I did not feel unsafe, not anymore than any other large city. I also stayed smart and watched my bags for pickpockets, which was my biggest concern. I avoided areas and activities that could get me in trouble. The metro was easy to maneuver.

Look very closely the hotel and room you rent to include the amenities.. I have stayed in over 6 different hotels in the range of $60-$87. It was very difficult to find a good hotel that met my basic needs
1- Ac that works, not fans
2- A good breakfast or at least a place to eat close by
3- Security or lighting when returning at night
4- Clean working bathrooms with hot water and knobs that don't fall off
5- No surprises when checking in or out with surprise fees
When you find one like I have stick to that hotel the next visit or go up in price range

Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee.
Comfortable weather. Awesome food, beer and coffee. You can plan your whole trip around the city with Uber, super safe and cheap. Hear the advise of the locals, they know better. Plan for a whole afternoon on "Comuna 13", immerse yourself in the culture, have dinner and do your shopping. Withdraw money on the "BanColombia" ATM's, they have the better rate. Book the Guatapé trip, but make sure that they stop at "Altos del Chocho". Tip your tour guides and waiters, they work for it.

The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing.
The food and the culture were great. The views were amazing. And although the tap water is safe to drink in this city, I would stick to bottled water unless you won't mind the rather poor (and metallic) taste of tap.
One thing to note if you are an obvious foreigner, there are people constantly hounding you and bombarding you while you are walking in the street just to sell you things, get you to dine with them, or simply give you money. This was my least favorite part of the trip. I am a tall white American woman. At certain times of the day/night, I could not walk 10 steps without being approached by street vendors or begging children.

The city if Medellin is a city like no other.
The city if Medellin is a city like no other. You have a mixture of city-like with the immersive of nature. It looks like a city with beauty and nature combined. I suggest taking the metro or cable car. Medellin is similar to NYC but way more eco-friendly!
Amazing staff, good location in a quiet path of Poblado yet super close to an Éxito supermarket, to the metro and to parque Lleras. The breakfast was decent, too, and we had a nice chat with the chef. The 4th day we left to a more expensive 4star hotel in Lleras and we really regretted having left hotel 574; hotel 574 was just so much better than the more expensive place. Hotel 574 was such a nice place and definitely one of the best places we stayed at during our 3 week trip in Colombia.
Sites was by far the best hotel I’ve stayed in all of Colombia. All rooms are equipped with full kitchen, living room, and stunning views. Access to jacuzzi, gym, steam room, and bbq. Sites is situated in an ideal neighborhood in El Poblado, near to everything you’ll need. The staff is extremely attentive, and would like to thank Rosendo Espinoza as he was absolutely amazing! Definitely returning this this hotel on my next trip back to Medellin. 10/10!
We visited Medellin with our 2 children, and this hotel was wonderful. It feels luxurious, with fabulous views over the city, and the staff were wonderful, friendly and welcoming (especially Alexander, who gave us very good advice on where to spend time in the evenings).
The location is good, with a short walk to restaurants in el Poblado, and a 15-minute walk to the metro station.
The breakfasts were fantastic, and we enjoyed relaxing by the pool.
Prime Location!, delicious breakfast, very friendly, lovely frontdesk agents all three, spacious bedroom, very quiet neighborhood, although the busy la 70 is right there. You can withdraw cash at bancolombia right on the corner, exito supermarket is very close, mondongo's restaurant also very close. The famous la 70 is right there walking distance, lots of hotels restaurants. I will definitely stay here again in a couple of months
Very pretty place and super friendly, helpful staff. I initially booked this guest house, I arrived in the early afternoon and heard construction sounds near my room. When I asked for a quieter room they offered to relocate to the nearby luum boutique hotel. It was equally nice, friendly and comfortable, and much quieter. Slept very well and one of the best arepas con huevos I had in Colombia :)
This is a cute, quiet, clean and super friendly little hotel very close to the south bus terminal and in a great neighborhood with excellent food (very comfortable to walk about or grab an inexpensive taxi to another part of town). Absolutely loved Natalia (Colombian hospitality is so wonderful!). Excellent value for money - and the breakfast is delicious!!! Would highly recommend!
Nice, pretty room. Great shower.
The pool on top off the hotel was a nice extra. The pool is open untill 9 p.m.
In the hotel was a restaurant 'Smash' where you could have a good breakfast and nice snacks for a reasonable amount of money.
About 10-15 min walking to metro station 'el Poblado'.
Definitly would recommend to stay here if you're in Medellìn
Great breakfast, continental and Colombian food. Very friendly personnel: reception, cleaning lady, restaurant. The room is great, very good bed, bathroom a bit small but quite OK.
They are renovating the hotel at the moment, the Jacuzzi was out of order, but when it is back in business, it is a great place!
Amazing 5 star hotel, everything is ideally clean, service at the front desk superb. Great roof top with pool, amazing views and bar. Nice restaurant on the first floor. Location is perfect in Poblado, tons of restaurants and bars around. They arrange transport for us from/to airport. Great stay overall !
The pillows and beds were so comfortable, the free breakfast had a lot of great option, the free mini bar with Colombian products was a great touch, the roof top bar and some really trendy bars/restaurants downstairs...all in the heart of Poblado. The Click Clack is one of the trendiest places in town!
Very modern and clean.
AC unit in rooms.
Beautiful rooftop with pool and hot tub.
Free washer and dryer, but they also washed and dried our clothes for free (+tip).
Capture Colombia Tours agency in the lobby to help with booking activities- like paragliding, comuna 13, guatape, coffee, etc.
The best thing about this hotel is it’s rooftop bar - it’s the oasis of tranquility in the hectic city. The breakfast served there daily has been the tastiest on our Colombian trip, the restaurant menu is great and tasty. Good location , decent internet and comfortable beds.
Very nice and clean hotel with the best shower we had all over Colombia and a parking at the other side of the road. The owner and the staff are both very helpful. It is in a very safe area with lots of restaurants all around. Highly recommended.
For my work the location was ideal in the heart of Medellin. Gritty to say the least but no problems. Standard free Colombian free breakfast, taste fine, energy sustencance to start your day and appreciated.
The rooms are nice and clean. Laundry service was good (although very expensive considering Colombian prices). This hotel is perfect if you want to escape the buzzy city life of Medellin.
Everything was fine at Rangohostel. We wtayed there 2 nights to dicover Medellin during our recent trip to Colombia. The breakfast is really good and all the staff was really helpful!
I liked the location of the hotel and the staff friendliness and kindness. Hotel was clean and comfy, and they serve a typical colombian breakfast everyday.
