My 3 teenage daughters and I were in Kathmandu for 4 nights and 5 days. We stayed at the Oasis Kathmandu Hotel. There is absolutely nothing negative I can say about this Hotel. Everything was just great. The Hotel is conveniently located in Thamel close to everything. We booked a deluxe family suite, which was spacious and comfortable. The Hotel is very reasonably priced. Although the food variety and selection is limited, the free breakfast is delicious. There is no elevator in the Hotel, but that was fine too. The best thing about this Hotel is the staff. Everyone was just amazing. In particular, Mr. Tulsi, the manager, went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. He arranged a private car for two days at a very reasonable rate (much lower than other agencies) and also arranged a car to the airport (There is free pickup from the airport upon arrival). All in all, I highly and wholeheartedly recommend this Hotel for anyone in Kathmandu. Thumbs up!!!

Best hotel you could possibly stay at in Nepal. The staff were incredibly lovely - went above and beyond in every way. Rooms are great. Restaurant and complementary breakfast is delightful. We initially booked two nights here and ended up staying well over a week. Truly best place I’ve ever stayed.

People were so accommodating, a beautiful place to stay in a great location. The staff up front were great with recommendations and help with my rides and transfers. The breakfast was incredible, as someone that is gluten free they brought me handmade gluten free pancakes and freshly baked bread everyday. Everyone went above and beyond to make sure I had options to eat and were exceptional. I couldn’t recommend a better place and friendlier or more accommodating staff!

The city is very crowded, disorganized, not safe to walk around and on the streets with so many motorbikes running around. Policemen do not help when asked for assistance. No modern shopping center or grocery shop, only markets with basic food, fruits and vegetables. For example, I have found fruit yogurts only in one supermarket and only of one type (was not the best either).

There is so much to see and do ... we were busy every day! We did the Everest mountain flight, a knife-making workshop, a traditional Nepalese cookery class, visited all the temples, did the Nagarkot sunrise hike, hiked Shivapuri National Park, saw the sites in Durbar Square, went to Boudhanath, Pashupatinath, did Chandragiri Cable Car (great views!), did the Skywalk Tower and went tea-tasting and shopped for souvenirs in Thamel.
Incredible city: 10 days was a perfect amount of time to see everything in Kathmandu at a good pace!
There is a taxi app and taxis are around $1-3. It's incredibly cheap to get around and very safe.

The best thing that has happened for visitors to Katmandu is the fantastic App called Indrive, where you can order a motorcycle, small car, big car, or bus taxi, and in seconds, you will get the required choice at very good rates. Within minutes, you can get transport 24 hours a day. And people say that this method of travel is one of the safest in the world. I used it many times, and I was not disappointed even once.

I added Nepal to my trip as an afterthought, basically to see Everest and a few temples. It is soooo much more than that! The people are amazing, the temperature is less oppressive, your money goes so far, the service generally is top rate, the food is tasty and plentiful, and then there’s the scenery, mountains, temples, monasteries, trekking, peaceful lakes, wildlife…… just GO, stop making excuses.

Best hotel in Thamel-Kathmandu😍
For first I want to recommend this hotel for the good services offer from the staff, in particularly I want to say a big thanks to AAYUSH❤️ he was very nice, honest and helpful to help me to find “everything I needed”, my vacation became more easy because of his advices.
The rooms are modern and clean, the bathroom has the shower box (not easy to find in Nepal), the bed is comfortable.
Good breakfast.
Can’t ask more!
Thank you 🫶🏻
Small cozy place located in peaceful Thamel. Lots of eatery, shops, money exchange nearby. I paid $20 a night and had WiFi, clean room and attach bath with hot shower. Hotel has no restaurant. It is a value for money and comfort on budget. Don't think twice, just book. 5 minutes walk to Garden of dreams and 10 mins drive Swayambhu temple. Sound healing singing bowl class was near too. Sunny Terrace Garden. Fantastic stay it was. Thank you! 👍👍
Everything from room comfort to support from staff with great value .. there is a super breakfast choice and a trekking agency on site to support the large choice of activities that you can do across Nepal .., really exceptional friendly home from home
I have stayed in many thamel hotels and this was the best by far.. highly recommend and I will visit again in the future .. thank you to Narayan and his staff
Very clean, very quiet, super friendly. If you don’t have a huge budget and want to enjoy the vibrant life of Kathmandu, Thamel, then this is the perfect hotel for you! We will definitely stay there during our next visit.
