FAQs about hotels in Sorrento

Colorful and Captivating

Overlooking the Bay of Naples and mount Vesuvius, Sorrento is a colorful town in Campania. According to legend, it was the land of the sirens that had the power to enchant with their singing.

The town of Sorrento has gorgeous Renaissance and Baroque architecture, and a wide variety of restaurants, shops and cafés. Built around the 11th century, the Romanesque Cathedral of Sorrento is the city’s most important landmark. The charming Bell Tower with the beautiful majolica clock is the first thing you notice.

The picturesque harbor of Marina Grande has some of the best restaurants in the city. Wander around during sunset and you'll see fishermen cleaning their nets. Marina Piccola is the place to catch a ferry to Capri, Amalfi and Naples.

Born in a garden of lemon and oranges, the traditional yellow liquor limoncello is a unique aperitif or digestive drink. The mediterranean climate of Sorrento helps in the production of this famous refreshment.

Naples International Airport is located 3 miles from the Capodichino district of Naples and about 18 miles from Sorrento. You can stay in one of the Sorrento hotels, B&Bs and pensions with Booking.com.

The local people are delightful. We felt safe even at night.

The local people are delightful. We felt safe even at night. Cruise ships are a feature so crowds become an issue and many businesses are set up for tourists. Drivers are surprisingly considerate and courteous, however, footpaths are often an afterthought or absent completely so care is needed. Be prepared to walk to see all the best features of Sorrento. Watch out for swooping seagulls if eating Al fresco.

Sorrento is a great place to stay.

Sorrento is a great place to stay. We were there 6 nights and could easily return for another visit in the future and see totally different things next time around. We visited Amalfi by ferry, Positano by bus, Capri and a couple of days by the pool and around Sorrento. Recommend the ferry over the bus for transport although the bus trip to Positano was memorable for the coastal road and views. We didn’t have enough time in Capri and so think we would stay over there if we go again. Food amazing everywhere, scenery stunning. Really great destination!

Loved the area was so beautiful, clean well decorated most beautiful view. Close to town, had to take a shuttle or a lift cause town is very high up. When no shuttle or lift you can take stars but there are a lot of them. We ate dinner and went for night caps at Ruccio restaurant and got 10% offf bill cause we were staying with Pam.also very good the waiters were so friendly and funny.Pam was so sweet made us cakes everyday. Very well stocked with snacks, coffeee, drinks, Cold cuts and more. I highly recommend.

Sorrento is the perfect place to use as a jump off point to take day trips to Amalfi, Positano, Capri, and Pompeii. It’s also a great time to spend in Sorrento itself with lots of restaurants and things to do. Its the perfect alternative to booking 1 night in each of the smaller places!

Sorrento was a great place to use as a base to see the Amalfi Coast, Capri, Pompeii, and the National Archaeological Museum in Naples. I didn't really explore Sorrento much until the last day, and I happened upon a festive and thriving street scene near the highly recommended Gelateria David, near the train station. The EAV train to Pompeii and Naples is crowded and you can't reserve a seat. I recommend looking up the schedule online and getting there early.

Exceptional place to visit, perfect to serve as a base point while you visit the surrounding area (i.e., Capri, Mt Vesuvius, Pompeii, etc.) A lot of restaurants nearby and people are helpful and friendly. I would definitely try out the Syrene Bar Restaurant, The Orange Tree (Thai) and Beersteak (one of my favorite places).

We use Sorrento as base for our Amalfi Coast trips, stay in this property for 4 night. The location was great, walk to Train station (10~15 minutes), walk to Porto di Sorrento about 15 minutes (remember asking Host for elevator), Host was very helpful, we stay in room #4, the shower space was in small size, but not bother us at all. (other rooms maybe have bigger shower space). Sorrento is a very expensive city, this property was great value for money. Our EU trips including UK, France and Italy. By far our Sorrento's Host was a Best.

The farm is a few km outside of Sorrento, but Francesco and Lia are SO accommodating and bring you to and from Sorrento with a smile. The views from our balcony were incredible. The room has air conditioning and is very comfortable. As Francesco and Anna will tell you, 95% of what you eat while on the farm, is made ON the farm. And it is VERY GOOD. We enjoyed wine and antipasto on a couple of nights, and it was very very good. Anna was a WONDERFUL hostess:)The nicest pizza I've ever had.... And the BEST Limoncella in Italy!!! :)

We stayed here for our mini tour of Italy for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our choice of accomodation here. Comfortable, convenient and very central it was perfect for us. Sorrento is a beautiful location and the host was very welcoming and informative. We managed to get some peace and quiet even whilst being in the middle of the shops and restaurants. The host/ owner was exceptional! You can't get better. She clearly cares deeply about the room and wants those staying to have the best experience. Our room was immaculately decorated with much attention to detail. It was cleaned daily to perfection. An excellent shower with lovely soap and shampoos. I couldn't have asked for more and at such a great location close to the train station and only a 5 minutes walk to old town Sorrento and the water at an affordable price Our favourite accommodation in Italy and beyond.

The best part of the property is clearly the view and patio. One would not have such a great view of the Bay of Naples and Sorrento while staying in town, and the patio provides a large space for many people to relax and observe. The local village of Priora, with its lemon farms, is also quite charming and gives you more of a feel of rural Italy, despite the proximity to busy Sorrento. Sorrento itself is pretty accessible through a network of both public and private bus services, as well as taxis.

Lovely room right in the heart of Sorrento. The included breakfast and other little things like the iron, hair drier and kitchen facilities were a real bonus that I found not many other accomodation offers in Italy from my experience. So this made it super comfortable! The staff were nice and helpful. Oh and the roof top terrace was to die for! Great to see the sunset and sunrise from. The room is in great shape and it was super clean. Very very happy.

MUST STAY in Sorrento! Highlight of our trip to Italy. Beautiful property with the kindest staff. You truly feel the love and warmth the mother-daughter duo put into every detail. Loved everything about this place! Beautiful little B&B. Short 10 minute walk to Sorrento center. Vanna and Mario are the most gracious hosts. Breakfast was excellent. Probably the best B&B we stayed at on our month long journey through Italy!
