Great location. The room was sub par and not at all like the pictures on the website. With it being off season and not many people in the hotel, we were stuck in the smallest, darkest rooms on the street side. The street noise made it difficult to sleep. Front desk staff was not helpful or friendly. The restaurant staff were great!

We enjoyed Santa Margherita Ligure very much. It was a delightful town by the beach. There are lots of different places to eat. There is an absolutely delightful walk to Portofino along the coast. In the other direction there is also a lovely walk to Rapallo.

This city is a must visit.
This city is a must visit. The city itself has plenty to offer, from shops to an array of great seafood restaurants. Awesome waterfront and the perfect connection, in whichever way suits you, on foot, by bus or ferry, to Portofino...and we did try all three.

I would have rather stayed in Santa Margarita than in Cinque Terra. CT was nice but SM was larger, the feel was more holiday Mediterranean style, more restaurants, shops... a great base to stay and then take the train or ferries down to CT

I loved the area.
I loved the area. I would stay there and take day trips to Cinque Terre rather than staying there. Cinque Terre is very noisy. it’s less expensive to take the bus rather than the ferry to Portofino.because was a short ride. Even though we were a mile from town it was too long and uphill to walk back. Taxi rides are $30 each way. I wish we were closer to the strip. There were many shops and nice restaurants on the strip and in town. Beautiful place

Absolutely beautiful place with plenty of restaurants and bars. Very friendly people everywhere we went. Clear water, no big waves, perfect for swimming. Plenty to see and easy transport to other areas. Trains cheap and frequent. Buses great. Taxi pricey.

The staff was nice, rooms standard size for italy but well organzied, clean and comfortable. The locations is awesome, the upper rooms with balconies are very great with beautiful views. If you have a car, you may find free parking on the street but they have a automatic underground car parking, its pretty cool and cost $20/night. The have a nice rooftop terrace, small with a cool dipping pool. Beach front loungers/umbreallas, breakfast great, outside seating. We had drinks outside. It was all great. Small elevators. :(
Location was amazing, right in the hub, almost beachfront, yet not crazy busy! We were lucky to be the first family to stay in this newly and tastefully renovated, fresh, clean and very comfortable 2x bedroom 2x bathroom Apartment. There is a lovely living space with comfy sofa which converts into an extra double bed if needed. The (much needed -in Summer) Air conditioning was fantastic! Tania and the Wonderful Italy team really were wonderful, they ensure our stay was very comfortable, thank you!!
During the stay we had an experience of true italian life - everything was just as we dreamed about. Wonderful views from the balkonies, everything you need just in a few steps distance. Bars, restaurants, grosery stores, promenade, beaches, train station - very close. Santa Margherita Ligure - the city you saw in italian movies, small, cosy, not very busy with tourists. Portofino - 5 km walking with spectacular views. Want to get some exercises - go hiking just stright from the apartmens.
Absolutely the best reason to stay at Villa 1900 is Paola, who greeted me when I arrived and was always there to help. Because I arrived in October, the a/c was no longer running. so far this is true everywhere in Italy. Paola, when I complained about the heat, arranged when I was out, to have a fan put in my room. The room, the location, and the villa itself were charming but it was Paola and her personal attention that put my stay here over the top.
The service was outstanding, I've never been to a hotel 3, 4 or 5 star with anything close to the level of attention from all staff but especially Fredericka. We had a refurbished room which was exceptionally clean and up to date. Although there isn't a pool there is a large jacuzzi and decking area at the top of the hotel with lovely views across Santa Margherita.
The staff were some of the best I have ever met at a hotel. Marcella at reception is the exact person you would love to meet on your arrival. She is extremely friendly, efficient and helpful. She also gives excellent restaurant suggestions.
Breakfast is good and personnel serving it are very attentive.
The car parking service is very efficient and convenient.
Beautiful apartment in the center of Santa Margherita. Close to the beach and city center. Host was the best! She gave us all the information needed for staying in Santa Margherita - detailed and clear, was online and ready to answer immediately, entrance was explained clear. Apartment is clean with big and comfy bed. Has kitchen with all needed facilites.
Really classy hotel, breakfast is really good, wounderful enviroment and beautiful view over Santa Margherita Ligure, good service at the beach and pool area, there is always space, so thankful that there is no people hunting chairs early in the morning 👌, a couple of minutes walk to city center. Very Clean and elegant, free parking, Nice staff overall.
Hotel Metropole was well located right off the main strip in Santa Margherita Ligure, so a few minutes to restaurants without being right in the action. The hotel is right on the water, so we had a lovely view of the pool, property and ocean. the room was well sized and clean with prompt service daily. great breakfast buffet with great staff!
The best I can say about this hotel is that it is centrally located in Santa Margherita and the staff did give us a refund after one night on the remaining 3 nights-- but not after we had to envoke Amex disputes. Booking.com was absolutely useless in getting us a refund.
Beautiful hotel right on the sea. Comfortable rooms with high ceilings and clean sheets. Breakfast was delicious, and the view spectacular. Very easy to reach via train, and within walking distance of all there is to do. Great value.
Very nice location. Hotel is very well equipped and looked after. Room was very appealing, well lit and clean. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb ! Definitely the place to stay when in Santa Margherita.
We loved everything about our stay at the Mediterranean. The staff was incredibly hospitable and helpful. The hotel is centrally located, and a perfect location to see Santa Margarita and Portofino.
I honestly did not like the hotel, and all the things in the room are old and poor, and the rooms are very small compared to the pictures, which look like a luxury hotel
