With a rich mix of influences from Indian, Chinese, Spanish and American cultures, Manila is the vibrant capital of the Philippines and its cultural and economic center. Thanks to the trade with Latin America during the three centuries of Spanish colonization, Manila became an important city, known as the "Pearl of the Orient."
Don’t miss a visit to the Spanish remains in the Intramuros district. Important landmarks in the area are the Malacañan Palace, the City Hall, and the Manila Cathedral.
Rizal Park is a national icon, while the Baywalk promenade is great for enjoying the well-known city sunsets. Ermita and Malate districts are famous for the nightlife, trendy shopping and restaurants, as well as for some luxury Manila hotels. Between the promenade and the districts, its easy to see why Filipinos call Manila “The City of Our Affections,” where the people's love affairs with fashion, music, entertainment and sheer fun are on bright and beautiful display.
Divisoria is a traditional district for local shopping, bargains and typical food. Binondo is the oldest Chinatown in the world.
For hotels in Manila near the airport, Ninoy Aquino International Airport is not far from Makati City.

Only in the Philippines they have lots of Malls. A lot of tourists sight to go. Although it’s hot and humid but there are beach to go and have a get away fun.

I have passed through Manila many times.
I have passed through Manila many times. It's a typical Asian megacity, but without the cultural attractions of Bangkok or the great food of Jakarta. I put it on a par with KL. Food is bad, traffic can be a nightmare. It's worth visiting Intramuros for half day, and Chinatown also on a first visit. But after that get out of the place and go to one of the many fantastic Filipino beach or volcano destinations.
I lived in Jakarta for many years and if you live in a place, then it is different ... you quickly start to understand and fit into a city ... know where the tennis club is, your fave gym, the best restaurants and bars. I feel Manila is one of those places ... living there will become normal. But passing through? It's really worth avoiding.

The hotel is beautiful, located in makati city, super clean and with an amazing rooftop restaurant and pool, the view at the sunset is stunning. The room is nice , comfortable and clean . The staff is friendly, nice and very helpful ! We were welcome by Aibe, Gael, Ja, Kai , Jerwin, Angel and maybe Maria ! They helped us indicate where to go for some shopping and on the first night we’ve had some issue with very noisy young people, the staffed fixed the problem and then following night it was so quite and silence. Loved it and loved Manila
We stay at this hotel when travelling through Manila for short overnight stays due to its proximity to NAiA airport. Rooms are not large but substantially bigger than similar short stay hotels in other cities such as Singapore, HK etc and also less expensive. Staff are friendly and helpful. It's a reliable and safe hotel.
The location of Belmonte Hotel was amazing and helpful as it was just opposite NAIA T3. Upon arrival from the airport and crossing Runway Manila, we were already greeted by 2 Belmonte Staff on standby to help us with our large luggage. These are small things but goes a long way in providing excellent service to guests.
great hotel for a stay when transferring / flight from Manila - located about 10 min cab ride from the airport, in a quiet neighborhood; express check in, clean room, comfortable bed, good WiFi, all you need
This is easily one of the best hotels in Manila. Very well located, awesome facilities (room, gym, breakfast). Staff is exceptional, they take care of you very well
