Booking is not clear and we ended up being far from our kids. They moved us closer together to a room with no view and a noisy restaurant above our bedroom made it impassible to sleep. You cannot get bookings at the multitude of restaurants promised in the website becoz most of them are usually not open. No option to cancel and get a refund for our last night. I could’ve spent my money at a much better Drakensberg resort.

The silence is golden. The highlight would be the time spent walking the trails and spending time absorbing the scenery on the lake and the surrounding mountains. Although i never fished i believe the fishing would be incredible.

The area is nothing short of spectacular!! Rhino Peak pokes you in the eye it is so close. Numerous hiking options abound. The rondavel is cozy. The thatch roof and the structural framing supporting it is a great study as you lay in the comfortable double bed. The kitchen island/bar is well stocked with any and all items you need to self cater. The shower provides an endless supply of hot satisfying water. My wife and I have been traveling for a month in South Africa and this is the best yet. The hosts are generous with thier time and helped us plan our hikes and even led us on an excursion into the National Park.
