Don't linger here, treat it as a transport hub, the city has lost what charm it had from the soviet times and is now full of ugly construction plots, soulless glass boxes, and honking cars. Also, the city is craaazily russified, it's just sad to see these bits of colonial rule still doing strong(
Just get out of here as soon as you can and explore the real charm of Uzbekistan elsewhere.

Every person in Tashkent goes out of the way to help you though the language is a barrier. If they see you need help they volunteer and come forward to help. Very friendly and hospitable locals. I would love to visit again for the cleanliness and the friendly attitude of the locals. The local cuisine was great.

It's just like any other big cities that there are museums, markets, monuments etc. I really enjoy the food in Tashkent, yummy and fresh. It's good that many people I encounter get to speak English and that saves my trouble.

We visited Tashkent as part of a private tour, we had overnight stays in Tashkent 3 times during our trip. The city is easy accessible, but don't expect to see a lot of historical (very old monuments or buildings), that is reserved for the other cities. The momument of the waiting mother (2nd worldwar) I found most impressive and I need to compliment the people that designed the set up with the books with all the names of fallen soldiers. Also impeccable maintained and recommend to go and see this impressive memorial.

The weather is different in different cities like Tashkent, Samarghand, and Bukhara. I was going from warm winter jacket and shoes to shirt and sandals in one day; check the weather before heading out and have extra clothing in your day trips. Dollar works well almost everywhere, but make sure to not pay too much for taxi and neg. with taxi drivers. Good food and inexpensive. Bukhara and a local restaurant in Samarghand, my tour guide took me there, with vegetarian options were my favorites. Being vegetarian is not easy in Uzbekistan since their main food ingredient is meat. Very safe country especially for female travelers with friendly people, however, timing is not their priority. Enjoy the hospitality of Uzbekistan.
A really nice hotel, very clean and in a good location, considering Tashkent is a very big city. As a matter of fact most hotels are located in that area. Everything matched our expectations. The girl on the reception who speaks amazing english, really helped us by ordering taxis for us, and she even saved us last minute from missing our domestic flight to Urgench (Khiva) because apparently Tashkents airport for such flights is different than the one we landed. Thank you so much for everything.
Ps. Give that girl a promotion, shes a keeper.
I was on a trip to Uzbekistan because of a love affair. I am Israeli name Isaac I visited in Tashkent. This Hotel is amazing The beautiful wonderful girl working at the Reception of this hotel called a taxi who was kind hearted helpful and it was a very big very nice VIP room that she reserved for me. Thank you very much. Everything was very good I will visit your hotel again soon nice good hearted moche MOXE
The staff and service is great, rooms are nice & spacious, swimming pool is a proper sized pool unlike many other Tashkent hotels of same budget, pool table, table tennis, horse riding on beautiful gigantic horses (free for hotel guests) with an interesting collection of chicken from all over the world, in-house ATM, good food at reasonable prices, lavish buffet breakfast and always available house keeping.
I moved from Intercontinental to Hayat Regency which they are next to each other same road few hundred meters away from each other. If you rate Intercontinental 5 star I will not give more than 1 star to Hayat Regency not comparable at all. The hotel is too old, corridors are old, rooms are old, washrooms are old. I will never ever go back to Hayat Regency Tashkent.
Solid hostel. Nice clean bathrooms and showers. Very generous and impressive free breakfast. Good kitchen facilities. 20 minute walk to the main train station. Decent wifi. A little far from the center but there are cheap taxis and buses (use Yandex app for schedules). Would recommend for a stay in Tashkent.
An excellent hotel on all counts: quiet, convenient location, quality facilities and helpful staff. Especially want to mention Wi-Fi - it has really strong and stable connection, what cannot be said about other places in Tashkent and Uzbekistan in general. And you get all of it for a really small price.
In general this small hotel is very clean, quiet and staff are very pleasant. The breakfast is good for the room price. The location is good, close to the airport, walking distance from shops and a big mall but it is not close to the city center. Considering how cheap taxis are this is not a problem.
The location of the hotel is ideal in Tashkent City center, located inside a very nice, green and quiet urban park.
Metro station is just a few steps away and gives you quick access to the whole city.
Communication with host was flawless; rooms were nice and clean, accessible at all times.
Clean, basic design of rooms. Good enough for budget hotel. Really good value if you compare with similar other hotels at Tashkent.
Really good heating system and hot water in bathroom, when all Tashkent has problem with gas and electricity.
The staff is very pleasant. Thanks a lot.
best hotel for Tashkent Marathon. Can go to the start point by walk in 10 minute
nice room. good condition. polite worker. good breakfast. located in center. near to subway station.
i will come back again. thanks :)
Tashkent is a large spread out city. The hotel is near Chorsu Bazaar and about 15 mins from the metro. Good sized clean rooms with a good breakfast. Although payment can be done by card the hotel prefers cash.
The hotel was quite friendly and clean. It was in a short distance from the Airport. I would stay there more in the future. I would recommend to my friends Grand Tashkent Hotel as the best one !
Even it is located 5-6km from downtown but it is easy to go anywhere by bus and taxi in tashkent
very cheap though. This hotel is clean, nice vibe n there is like a sharing working space.
This hotel is one of the iconic buildings which remain from Soviet era. Service and quality might be considered reasonable if you compare with the modern 5 star hotels in the vicinity.
Very happy with the way I was treated from all the hotel staff. Tashkent was very clean and I was impressed and I found the Uzbekistan people very hospitable
This hotel is the best in Tashkent, I mean. And I saw one smart person is admin Khusan, if I'm not mistake. Supper
Next time, also I'll chose this hotel.
Good, newly built hotel in the same newly opened Tashkent City Park.
Staff is extremely helpful.
Rooms are clean and well equipped.
Breakfast was good.
the staff at the reception night and day were extremely friendly and helpful they even upgraded our room for free! best hotel I’ve stayed in Uzbekistan
