The balcony room was worth the extra cost. We had a view of the hotel’s swimming pool and the local bell tower as well as rolling Tuscan hills. The staff were super helpful. The parking garage was next door. The breakfast was a delicious buffet.

The owner / manager was extremely helpful and pleasant. He was very busy too, but juggled things well. The town is a jewel and we had a great time there at an uncrowded time of year. The location could not be better. The rooms are relatively simple and modest, but clean and well lit. We would stay there again. The town is an absolute jewel and it was super to be there in March when there were very few other tourists besides ourselves. Weather was brisk so take sweaters and a jacket, plus umbrella!
Located in the center of San Gimignano, Hotel Bel Soggiorno offers large rooms and an on-site restaurant serving typical Tuscan dishes. The Chianti wine area is just 12 miles away.

The Borgo Pignano was absolutely beautiful and even better...
The Borgo Pignano was absolutely beautiful and even better than what we read and heard from our friends past travels to Tuscany. The location nestled near olive groves, vineyards and woods of the region were spectacular as we travelled through the region.
The skilled- staff were amazing and truly cared about each and every guest, like family.
The restaurants, out-door bar with breath taking sunsets truly elevated our stay.
I look forward to returning to such a picturesque location and spending more time on our next excursion to Italy. Grazie, Grazie.

Perfect rural location for 10 minute drive to the more...
Perfect rural location for 10 minute drive to the more touristy but worthwhile San Gimignano or the less touristy but historical and beautiful Volterra. Pretty much everywhere else in Tuscany within easy drive for day trips.
Absolutely everything!! From the minute we arrived the front desk staff set the tone for this completely first class experience.
Everyone from the thoughtful wait staff, Gigi and his informative and friendly private property tour, Teresa and Barbara who provided an excellent ridding experience, I would highly recommend booking with them if you enjoy ridding through the beautiful Tuscany country side, to the poolside server who couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful.
We loved our time at Borgo Pignano!
We loved everything about Borgo Pignano - the lovingly restored villa, the iconic view of the surrounding Tuscan hills, the delicious locally-grown and sourced food, the immaculately maintained grounds, the extensive system of hiking trails, the truly unforgettable inifinity pool, and all of the thoughtful and personalized touches. The staff were above and beyond helpful and friendly. 10/10 would recommend to family and friends! We can't wait to come back and stay longer.
Absolutely everything! The staff were amazing, welcoming and always on hand. The hotel is an experience itself, we loved finding out how the food we ate in the restaurant was grown by Kirsten. Gigi went the extra mile by showing us round. The pool was lovely to spend so many hours by drinking in the view. Our cookery experience was the perfect way to end our stay and the sommelier gave us a great wine tasting with the perfect view and accompanying food.
- communication with the host was very friendly and easy
- appartment was very clean
- the host prepared a perfect, delicious dinner (food and drinks) for us on Saturday evening
- the appartment was well-equipped (there were even a chair, pen and some books and a swing in the garden for children)
- the garden was great with a nice view over the hills
- only some minutes drive to visit Volterra and San Gimignano
Warm welcome, hospitality and kindness of the owners family 👍Very beautiful and quiet place, however very close to must-to-see sites in Tuscany. Very convenient for sightseeing. Rural surrounding and atmosphere, the house is located on the hills, in the center of 90 hectares farm. Friendly animals 😊 The apartment is quite independent, separate entrance and part of the garden. Would be happy to come back 😊
Borgo Pignano is in a stunning location.
The grounds and the house are well maintained
and beautiful.
The adult only pool is perfect, the views are
phenomenal and the perfect place to waste away the day.
The bar man at the poolside was fantastic and provided
outstanding service.
The drinks (cocktails) are delicious and prepared
expertly.
The reception staff were really helpful.
Manuela was a super-nice host plus she speaks English very well. Breakfast was really delicious, rooms were clean, so was the big pool at the backyard - kids enjoyed it very much! Location was perfect - very quiet and peaceful, with lovely views of the Tuscan hills. If we visit Tuscany again, we would be definitely coming back to this place!
I've followed Borgo Pignano on Instagram for a few years, and it was magical to finally see it in person. The grounds are exceptional. The views are unmatched, and the location to Volterra and San Gimignano is convenient.
Luigi, "Gigi" who greeted us, was so kind and welcoming. Breakfast is a lovely display.
Our rooms were a lovely size, and had a great outlook.
The food was delicious, especially in Villa Pignano.
The wine tasting was superb, the sommelier was excellent - it was a great experience.
