If there, see the tombs, museum, mosuqe, fortress (you can get there by car), walk along the river in the old town and enjoy the atmosphere. If you have a car, drive up the opposite side of the valley, have dinner there and enjoy nice views

I went to Amasya by bus.
I went to Amasya by bus. It was just a weekend escape from Ankara. I was amazed during my first day walk along the river. I recommend to climb the fortress (although it takes approx. 1,5 hour to reach the top on foot) and explore it thoroughly, to visit the tombs of pontic kings, the museum with miniature model of Amasya and the Amasya museum with nice archeological section.

The historical old town is lovely.
The historical old town is lovely. The tombs of the kings of Pontus and the historical old town houses overlooking the river Yesilirmak is worth seeing. Also, there is the tomb and museum devoted the legendary lovers that never made it together, Ferhat and Sirin. The local food is good and tasty.

Good to spend 24 hours in Amasya.
Good to spend 24 hours in Amasya. Wanted to visit the castle but the tunnel was closed for roadworks and our GPS would not find the alternative route. Climb up to the Pontic tombs early morning while its cool.

Walking the city in both morning and night is very beautiful. It has an amazing location with beautiful scenery. The light system at night gives it special atmosphere. The small old pazar street is very nice. It's definitely worth visiting.
The hotel is lovely, situated right in the centre of the old town - location-wise it doesn’t get any better.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast was served buffet-style and everything was prepared with care and very tasty. Wifi worked well too.
What really makes the hotel stand out though is the friendliness of the owners and their staff. They are really good people and everyone is happy to help and provide you with information. Big thanks to everyone at Ziyagil Konagi!!!
This place is highly recommended when you come to Amasya.
The room is big, clean, and well decorated; the bed is comfortable; the bathroom functions well; the host is super welcoming and helpful, making us feel like at home; the breakfast is great; and the hotel is well located in a quiet neighborhood while being very close to tourist attractions. We especially enjoyed the beautiful garden, playing with the cute cats and dogs of the hotel, and having Turkish tea and nice discussions with the host and the locals in the night. We would highly recommend it!
Location. Helpful and friendly host. The room was clean, well appointed with historic ceiling feature. The hotel is located in a central and picturesque spot by the river in a cozy street of the old town. The host helped us with parking as well as has given us additional information about Amasia and its historic sites. It seems that the hotel is run by a family, all members of which engaged in servicing guests, were lovely people.
Everything was perfect. I felt like at home between my family. Specificaly Ensar (kardeşim) as a brother very helpful person and always smiling, we visited together the old turkish yıldız hamam wich is under renovation it's only 3 meters from this wonderful ottoman mansion (Ziyagil Konağı) in the really heart of amasya.
Hotel located off the town centre just minutes driving to the major sights. Spacious, very well kept room with sitting area and coffee making facilities. Clean bathroom. Good buffet breakfast. Plentiful parking in front of the hotel.
The location is so good for a tourist to see Amasya City. The restaurant in the court is decorated perfectly and they served very delicious meals. Also they have some live Turkish Music on some days of the week.
The hotel is very nice you feel like you are back in time ( 100 years ) very original restoration for a place that is 150 years old , breakfast is excellent, stuff nice and helpful , highly recomend this place.
A very good breakfast, really helpful and friendly staff, very comfortable bed, really nice room. There is a car park near the hotel, old town is within walking distance (5 mins on foot). It was a lovely stay.
Everything was perfect. One of the very few hotels where you can find someone who speaks English. Staff was very friendly and helpfull. I higly recomend it!
