Location is really the only reason to stay here. If you want to be surrounded by rice terraces and be able to view them at sunrise and sunset then this is a worthwhile hotel to book. Rice terraces are really beautiful and there is easy access from the hotel grounds. Grabfood and Gojek will deliver here, though Grabcar will not pick up here. Gojek car, however, will pick up here but it may take longer. If you are leaving to go to the airport from here, keep this in mind.

Staff is very friendly but professional. They are interested in you having a pleasant stay. Food is healthy and delicious, and it's always a different meal every day. The place is clean and comfortable. The room has acommidaations. Very peaceful stay. Activities, scooter rentals, breakfast lunch dinner, a store, everything I could need.

This resort is hidden amongst the rice fields and an oasis to be walked around and enjoy. The pool is excellent and the rooms spacious with large bathrooms (that included a tub)
Food was great, with staff that were very attentive and accommodating. As this is a more remote location it’s perfect for a quiet stay.

I can't generalize the whole area because it's really big. There are some nice views and, surely, there are many places to visit. But the transfers take too much time, bumpy roads, hilly, upside-down, left-to-right and so on. You have to have a lot of patience to go there.

The beaches in this area not very good.
The beaches in this area not very good. To travel to any tourist land mark takes minimum 30 minutes buy scooter. Grab and Gojek not available in this area. So need to definitely rent a scooter. I booked 13 days stayed 10 and left.
Yhe shower had a water saver shower head, took a really long time to actually get wet using it. Ended up removing shower head and showering under open hole. Food was terrible at resort. Was sick first 4 days then started eating at other areas. There is honestly nothing of interest near this location. Internet had problems with wifi modem everyday, lucky to get 30 minutes use each day.
Laundry was cheap. Local food cheap. But everything else was just bad

So good to be away from busy South Bali.
So good to be away from busy South Bali.
Here it is all about real balinese life and tradition.
For sure the main road is just a way to go there but once you step out of it this is lush, nature, villages with soul.

Tabanan is the region of Bali south of Denpasar and north of Kuta etc. So although it includes Tanah Lot - the very popular Hindu beach temple, it also has many unspoilt areas of rice fields, farms, very pretty, clean villages and glorious empty beaches although we didn't swim due to the rips on our local beach. There is a marvellous pottery in Pejatan where you can not only buy some lovely local ceramics but do classes as well. We also visited the Subak museum (we were the only visitors there and had a guide take us round) where they explain the village rice growing organisations and the Mangarana Memorial Park which has a war memorial commemorating all the Balinese who died against the Dutch in the war of independence in 1949 and the graves of the 89 guerillas who died in an actual battle there, including their leader, I Gusti Ngurah Rai (after whom the Airport at Denpasar is named) The driver from our hotel showed us his Uncles grave, which has their village name on it. So much to see but such rural quiet if you want it; great area for cycling or walking and exploring.

MY REVIEW OF TABANAN ITSELF WAS GREAT.
MY REVIEW OF TABANAN ITSELF WAS GREAT.
BUT AS FOR THE ACCOMMODATION, WOULD NOT RECOMMEND TO ANYBODY. BOOKED THE ARYA RIVERSIDE VILLA AND ENDED UP HAVING TO FIND ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION DUE TO THE FACT THAT WE BOOKED THIS VILLA IN FEB 2019 FOR 2 NIGHTS IN JULY. GAVE OUR CREDIT CARD AND PAID FOR THIS ACCOMMODATION. GOT TO THE VILLA TO FIND IT PADLOCKED UP AND NOBODY AROUND TO BOOK US IN WAITED 2 HOURS FOR SOMEONE TO TURN UP AND SEVERAL PHONE CALLS TO THE NUMBER ON OUR BOOKING SHEET - NO ANSWER ON THAT PHONE. NO TELEPHONE NUMBERS AT THE VILLA TO CALL ANYONE TO OPEN UP THE VILLA. HAD TO LEAVE AFTER 2 HOURS TO FIND OUR ALTERNATIVE ACCOMMODATION. WE ARE TRYING TO NOW GET A FULL REFUND FROM THE COMPANY. NO JOY YET. VERY ANRGY AND DISAPPOINTED WITH BOOKING.COM AND THE OWNERS OF THE VILLA.

This place was amazing.
This place was amazing. Far away from everything except a restaurant up the beach which was a bit expensive but ok and a few tiny local shops. It’s unique and has magical gardens that are very highly maintained. Situated between rice fields and the black sandy beach. What a perfect escape for a couple to a family. Would definitely recommend.
The bungalow was truly amazing - it was spacious and had plenty of room to move around. The beds were comfortable, and the little private garden was a fantastic addition. The outdoor shower was also a great touch.
I would love to go back just to spend more time sleeping in that incredible large bed.
The staff is incredibly friendly and accommodating, always willing to assist with any needs. They even offer bike rentals, which is a convenient way to explore the area.
Aaaand, the spa was fantastic: 100 out of 10!
Wonderful stay, great escape to the jungle
I've changed tent option to the wooden house and enjoyed stay more there.
Stuff is very helpful and supportive in the hotel food is nice, highly recommend this place if you want to disconnect from everything and breath out .
My special gratitude to Wayan who helped me a lot to have medicine, I got flu after couple of days.
In the hotel you can have massage and yoga, ask host.
Also possible to have barbecue and sit next to the fireplace.
The accommodation was beautiful with views out the Indian ocean. The staff were excellent, friendly and very helpful. The resort was peaceful and in a quiet location. The day spa is tranquil, excellent service and reasonable prices. We relied on the hotel restaurant for all our meals, the menu included a vast array of local and western options and the food was all very good. Riding bikes through the villages and talking the locals provided a very different experience in Bali.

Our villa with private pool was exceptional. A huge sitting room and two equally large bedrooms made it a very relaxing place for our family of two adults and two children (11 and 9).
Bathrooms for both bedrooms are very sizeable and the extra ‘outdoor’ showers were very cool.
Outside, the private pool was a little oasis for us. Plenty big enough for a family of four to play and relax. The scale of the property is further demonstrated by a large seating area.
I would not recommend this hotel for the price but what I liked was that it was quiet, there can be groups of people with motorcycles showing up at the beach but it didn’t bother us as we almost didn’t heard them
The breakfast is really good and the hotel provides yoga classes in front of the beach that we really enjoyed.
The staff was excellent, we had quite a lot of issues with our room but they were very responsive and nice.
Our stay at Ranggon D’tukad was an absolute highlight of our several weeks in Bali thus far! The villa is private and along a beautiful rice field and river/stream. The warung they run has incredible (and affordable) traditional balinese food. Ketut is, and has been, deeply involved in the local community and is an amazing resource to learning the area. Rest and respite are truly found here in this incredibly serene stay!
Superbe hôtel with very kind staff, restaurant and food. Location in the heart of the rice fields with lot of walking trails if you would like to enjoy nature. We was in the separate villa, and the place was beautiful. 4 little villas with little swimming pool. The restaurant is not next door, but you walk around the rice fields to get there. You can also request room service
After a long plane trip and then car ride to the hotel. My partner and I were very pleased with the professional manner and generosity of the staff. When showed our room we were extremely surprised of how beautiful the private villa was. Throughout our stay we had lovely and wonderful service from the Staff and were provided with beautiful meals and drinks.
This place is such a small gem! The location with a million dollar view, food is extremely cheap and delicious. Bed is super comfy, shower is the best among all hotels i stayed in Bali.
We use fireplace and made some cheeses on fire just ay our lounge zone of the room!
Staff is super friendly and sweet. Highly recommend!!!
- amazing location in the jungle.
- the hotel are investing in the local community and lots of staff are from the village.
- the camping domes are a great experience.
- the jeep tour with visits to local, quiet waterfalls and incredible rice fields.
- not ‘touristy’.
- great for a 1 or 2 night stay.
I like the design of the room and the place is very private, intimate and cozy. The staffs are very helpful and warm, they respond quickly. The price is also affordable. They also have turtle release program which was really an interesting experience, only takes 10 minutes walk to the Balian beach.
I stay for my husband Birthday. They decorated the beds with flowers. Private pool was pretty size. I love it.
Bathroom had a little bit smelly. Other are perfect.
Thank you for your warm welcome! See you next time!
Eco friendly, attentive personel, bilingual, placed away from tourism area, went to take pictures in a small walk at the Village where the hotel is located. An immersive place of the Balinese culture.
I stayed just one night, and the stay was super nice, the staff very kind, the room I stayed was very authentic as an entire hotel. For dinner they served an Indonesian food - very delicious.
We were back in that hotel second time (and bring friends). Location is still amazing, also this time we visited all area around. One of the favourite and the best places in Bali
The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the hotel design is very beautiful. stayed at Grand Lagoon and the villa was stunning.
The pool was very clean.
