Very pleasant and friendly staff and service. They were always available to help with a smile. The breakfast options are also nice, limited but tasty. Rooms are also nice size and clean, but you can expect bugs, lizards and ants to come in due to the gaps in the door and open bathroom. Nice pool, Very convenient location, walkable distance to the market, food places, scooty hires, massage, etc. I would recommend

If you are seeking a hideaway from Bali’s chaotic Kuta, Ubud provides a welcome respite with its secluded paths, calming temples and specialised spa resorts. Surrounded by rice paddies, coconut trees and lush forests of green, Ubud is seen as the cultural centre of Bali.
The road leading up to Ubud features little villages specialising in handicrafts like Celuk (silver jewellery), Batuan (paintings) and Mas (wood carvings). Ubud, itself, produces all sorts of handicrafts in its peaceful foothills. There are also numerous art galleries, workshops and courses on offer for the budding artist.

I loved Ubud so much that I changed my trip and stayed an extra week. For me, it’s the perfect balance of nature, spirituality, sightseeing, tourism, shopping, and evenings out in cozy little bars.
It’s not the place for big partygoers (head to the southwest coast for that).
Traffic can get dense at certain hours, but it’s still much more pleasant than in the southern cities. You can escape the city within minutes on foot to enjoy long walks through the rice fields and discover small warungs in the heart of nature.
There are many painters and authentic artisans (not at the market, where they all sell the same things like in most tourist spots). You have to explore the small alleys to uncover hidden gems.
You’ll meet people from all over the world, and many solo travelers—it’s very easy to start conversations. The locals are truly kind and not jaded by tourism. Smiles are part of daily life here. Overall, the atmosphere is genuinely positive.
Prices are very reasonable for a place that attracts so many tourists. I personally visited in March—beautiful weather and not too crowded.

Like most of the roads everywhere in Bali, the roads in Ubud are narrow and congested. Getting from one place to another takes a very long time, even for short distances. Ubud has its attractions but was it worth another visit? Probably not. Then there is the so-called notorious "Bali belly". The tap water and ice cubes/shavings are all suspect and are to be avoided at all costs, if one doesn't want their vacation ruined by food poisoning, with vomitting and diarrhea.

A land full of Tradition.
A land full of Tradition. Balinese and Hindu culture dating back many centenaries ago with the most amazing architecture. Very friendly, calm and relaxed people. Try staying close to the main areas eg. eating and shopping hub, flea market areas as transport is only by taxi.

This is my second time in Ubud and I absolutely loved it the first time. This time wasnt as good as the traffic has become very hectic and dodging it as you walk the streets is a challenge and much of their footpaths are as hazardous. They are broken and distorted to the point of being a bit dangerous if you dont watch where you place your feet. Some areas even had missing sections with just black holes that you could easily fall into if you were not paying attention.. In between all of that the motorbikes are typically blocking whats left of the foot paths so you have to walk on the road at times with a constant stream of traffic it can be a bit overwhelming and certainly not a pleasant experience. We unfortunately arrived when they 12 days of ceremonies were on and so it meant from late afternoon traffic was bedlam.. motorbikes were parked everywhere. Add the afternoon storm and its a recipe for disaster. The thing I love most about UBUD is the great places to visit like Monkey Forest, Teggalong area. There is an abundance of tours, activities and places to dine, shop and enjoy that I still enjoyed my stay here, they just need to fix the traffic/footpath issue it is becoming quite dangerous.

i visited many times before and the last time about 8 years ago. The place has changed extremely. From a sleepy & rather yoga place in the ‘mountains’ to an over busy, noisy & dirty something. I will definitely not go there anymore.

The best you can stay in Ubud area. The breakfast is excellent and covers all tastes. The staff is polite and willing to serve you. The facilities are around the mountain and the river in the nature. The spa and the team are experts. We stayed two people in the villa with private pool and mountain view. I highly recommend it! Thanks for the perfect stay Royal Pita Maha !
This hotel was just fabulous. We had a room with private pool which you must do simply for the views, it was just stunning as you can see from unedited picture.
Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. The food was the best we had in Bali, so tasty and fresh ingredients.
The hotel helped us with transport getting around.
Everything! We had a 2-bedroom presidential pool villa with jacuzzi and rice terrace for one whole week and it was far and away the best place we have EVER stayed in Bali, after many trips where we always visit multiple hotels/resorts/villas. The service, the food, the views, the villa itself….absolutely incredible!
This property is amazing. Our villa had a private pool with the most incredible view. Plus the included breakfast was just the best, with multiple options and great coffee. We also enjoyed that the hotel was not in the thick of it all, and instead was in a serene spot still close to the Ubud town centre.
It was so secluded. The villa offers the best privacy with private pool and cabana. The ambiance is suitable for a very peaceful holiday. Very romantic for our second honeymoon. The spa was fabulous. The food was fantastic. We had the breakfast in the pool ! The staffs were so helpful and friendly.
