It is a very old hotel. The whole property either gets warm air or cold air. Unfortunately, the hotel staff decided they were chilly and the entire hotel was set to heat. The hotel has AC but the entire hotel either gets AC or heat. If you are either hot or cold and not in the populous, prepare to be uncomfortable.

Our room was very spacious, clean and decorated very nicely. The Breakfast was very good. We were given several choices how we would like our eggs prepared. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Pool area was great. Everything in the house is beautiful. The property is managed by the son of the owner. It used to be the primary family home. Now it feels like a cross between luxurious B&B and luxurious hotel. Secured parking was nice.

Beautiful vacation apartment. Lots of space, well stocked kitchen, a quiet secluded feel to the apartment. Fatima provided a lovely breakfast at a very reasonable price.
We loved the welcome and helpful staff. The room we had and views were excellent. we were able to extend our stay to go on a riverboat and steam train as well as visit Pocinho. The wine bar opposite the Museum was excellent and the Museum well worth a visit.

The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short.
The Douro Valley is beautiful. Our stay was too short. The big thing I would encourage travelers to do is to make reservations and tour plans prior to visit. Wineries are often booked for bigger tours and not accepting drop ins.

We loved our stay. The family and staff are amazing! I can't emphasize how welcome we felt. The dinner was delicious and the port/wine parings lovely. They also arranged taxis for us on two occasions. Would love to come back.

Very friendly welcome but took a few minutes to gain access to the property. It was a 25 minute walk to the station but taxis readily available and affordable. Close to supermarkets.
Tio Manel restaurant in Regua was excellent - in terms of food quality, service and pricing.
Boat trips from Quayside to Pinhao and from there to a selection of Quintas. The Croft tour and tasting was very good - informative and good value for money.

It was the height of the tourist season (middle of August) and there was also a public holiday. The town was very busy and put quite a strain on restaurants and bars. Previous visits have been off season and the town copes a lot better, providing a more relaxed experience.
This is one of my favorite places in Portugal.....wow gorgeous views, quiet, a creek flowing outside near your window, strolls through the beautiful vineyard and farm, sweet dogs to hang out with (optional), outstanding food and wine!!! The tour was great and the wine was amazing!! Dinner and breakfast were fantastic! Best oranges I have ever had. We'd love to come back and stomp grapes!! Great friendly staff, owner, and wine maker!! : ) We loved talking to everyone. This was truly the highlight of our trip! I miss Oscar too.
I loved the staff. They were so helpful and accomodating. My mother has mobility issues and due to the last minute hotel change the only option was one with a lot of stairs. The staff went above and beyond and brought breakfast to her room daily. They also changed the rooms so she would have one that had a larger shower and brought a stool for her in the shower. The rooms were beautiful, beds so comfortable, location perfect to walk into town or down to the Douro River. Definitely five star!!
The breakfast offered was delicious, pastries/bread, delicious cheeses, variety of fruit juices, egg omelettes. The view from our bedroom door was unreal and the pool was relaxing. The hotel is only a 15-min walk from the train station and there is a shortcut path that is even faster. It is a steep uphill but very doable. There were many restaurants in town to eat at, the host was able to give us some great recommendations. The Douro Museum was also a fun place to visit.
The Quinta was located high in the Douro Valley at the end of a well-marked winding road and is nicely laid out with the rooms overlooking the Douro Valley with the River below. The staff was excellent and tended to all our needs. We had a wine tasting in the patio and the host was very helpful in suggesting and reserving other Quintas for the next day. The property is beautiful, and we took advantage of the infinity pool also overlooking the valley.
The property was very clean. It was well-equipped and had everything we needed. Nuno and Andreia put a lot of thought into making guests feel at home. We had been in Portugal for 10 days and stayed in various accommodations in Sintra, Obidos, Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Fatima etc. My family members voted unanimously that Casa de Vila Seca was by far the most comfortable stay.
Our stay at Casa da Azenha was quite memorable thanks to the welcoming and helpful staff and the bucolic landscape. The historic manor house, vineyards, and gardens were beautiful and close to many things to do. This property stands out among all the places we have stayed in Portugal and captures the essence of the Douro Valley.
Excellent location for a break based in Peso da Régua. Just a few minutes walk from the railway station, bus station and taxis and opposite a variety of restaurants and wine bars. Great views from the balcony overlooking the river. The host (Pedro) was very welcoming and immediately resolved a couple of issues we raised.
Lovely little hotel , quaint and charming , situated just 2 minutes walk from the Douro river and 15 minutes walk from the town centre .
Good breakfast with delicious made-to-order scramlbed eggs by the charming and cheerful hostess Ana . Had a lovely relaxing swim in the pool on a hot afternoon .
This place is simply wonderful - well-kept, clean, polished to perfection, and everything thought out. I've had 85 stays via booking.com, and this one sets an unsurpassed standard for many of my previous stays, both in Portugal and in other countries.
The was was spotless, well equipped and comfortable with stunning views across The Valley and the Douro river.
Henrique, our host was very friendly and helpful. We will certainly be back!
Really beautiful old hotel. the rooms are fantastic, and was the breakfast. I highly recommend a stay here! Great location for exploring the Douro Valley. Very friendly staff.
Like the garden view of the breakfast area, the selection of breakfast.
the river view from our room. The free parking lot. Really feel relax in this hotel. Reasonable rate.
