Ypres has something for everyone. The restaurants have a variety of culinary options for every taste. Bars are friendly and comfortable with indoor and outdoor seating for drinks, a coffee, snacks or meals. Bicycles for hire mechanical or electric allow a visitor access to the countryside free from traffic and ease of viewing around the town. Tourist information in the Cloth Hall are very helpful and friendly. The historical buildings and the green environment really add towards an air of peace. A special treat is a walk along the town walls. Parking in the Market Square is not a problem nor overnight parking either. Don’t park in the Square on Friday night as there is a Market on Saturday and your car will be towed away. Shopping is a delight with supermarket, chocolate, books, fair trade and clothing all within walking distance of the Square. If Commemoration is part of your visit the Menin Gate Last Post ceremony each evening at 8 p.m. is very moving and an experience different from all others. Ypres is a gateway to Flanders: its people, its green environment, cycle paths, surrounding historical monuments with visitor centres throughout the countryside and its delicious foods.

We were a group of friends, we visited local war graves and stayed for the Last Post at the Menin Gate, which was well done and very respectful (although you need to get there at least 1 hour before the service to see anything). We do intend to visit again to explore the region further.

Ieper (Ypres) is an ideal base for exploring WW1 sites & cemetaries. The historic Cloth Hall contains an impressive museum and if you go it's worth paying the extra few euros to climb the 230 steps to the top of the bell tower. The views of the city are impressive from here.
The Last Post Ceremony every night at 8 pm is a moving and thought provoking tribute. It's a must if you can make it.

Ieper holds a horrendous history when it comes down to the tragic loss of life.
But on the other hand it has a sense of peace when you walk around.
The battles took place 108 years ago, so its good that there are still preserved sites to visit that this is never forgotten.

Ypres is a wonderful experience.
Ypres is a wonderful experience. Visit Menin Gate at 8pm each evening and hear the last post played for the fallen of the Great War.
On a Monday most shops and all restaurants and museums are closed.
This is a lovely B&B, centrally located in Ieper - only 10 minutes walk from downtown and the Menin Gate. Parking available. The room is very well appointed, the bed is comfy, and the air conditioning works! We did not include breakfast in our stay so I can’t comment on that. Everything is very clean and neat! There is a narrow staircase to negotiate, but we had no trouble. Franky is a wonderful host, who was available to help with restaurant suggestions and sightseeing options. Ieper is a beautiful city that is well worth a visit!
This place is excellent - very clean and very central. Car parking is included, which is a real bonus when exploring Ypres city centre. The flat is brand new and feels very luxurious - exactly like the photos. Our host (Bernard) was super friendly and provided lots of information about Ypres and what there is to see. When we come back to Belgium to explore the WWI battlefields, we will definitely stay here again!
We loved the location of this hotel. It was very close to the Menin Gate, In Flanders Field Museum and a variety of restaurants. Our room was very clean and nicely decorated and the staff was very friendly. I also appreciated receiving advance notice that the lobby was under construction. We did not notice any dust or noise from their renovations (it looks like it's going to be very nice when completed).
Location was absolutely brilliant a short walk to the centre.
Property was to a very high spec and our stay was fantastic.
We were met on arrival to a delightful host who gave a tour and told us about the area.
Free parking in the Square nearby opposite the hotel.
Absolutely loved Ypres and will definitely return and hopefully to this place.
Stayed here many years ago and very pleased to see the Ariane hasn't dropped it's standards. Rooms were lovely, great location close to the centre of Ypres. The staff were really friendly, allowing us to use the car park hours before check-in. We picked this hotel because of all the WW1 exhibits in the lobby and dotted around the hotel!
This is a well run, clean, friendly hotel with a great breakfast, and restaurant. You don't have to go far to have a beer at the end of the day, and they have a great selection to choose from. We stayed on the new side, and offered everything we hoped and more. The trenches behind the hotel were neat to explore!
Location excellent for the town centre and Menheim Gates. Shops are good as well.
Breakfast is excellent with plentiful amounts.Coffee good.
Excellent communication with staff and a friendly family run hotel.
Modern looking. Beds large and comfortable.Large Bathroom as well.
Everything about the accommodation (actually stayed in Front Door N12 nearer to the centre as 28 looks to have been booked twice (this was sorted out with the owner in the week before the stay).
I don't know how N28 could be better than N12 but if it is then wow.
Made to feel very welcome by the staff. The hotel is ideally situated for a very short walk (2 minutes) into the centre of Ypres. The hotel is very comfortable and the breakfast is first rate. Will definitely go back when visiting the Ypres salient next year.
Easy to find hotel , parking in the market square
Beds were really comfy and great blackout blinds
Staff were really lovely and helpful
Good selection of food for breakfast from cold meats and breads and cheese and then bacon eggs toast pastries fab
A really fabulous stay in this hotel. Right in the centre of Ypres. The car parking (11 Euros) was also super convenient. Our rooms were comfortable, lovely bedding and towels and super clean. The hotel staff were friendly. Would definitely recommend.
Booked for 1 night... Then stayed on for another 3 nights..then so happy with hotel, used as base, days out for another 5 nights... That good. 5*****
Great hotel/location/price/breakfast
The hotel is situated at an excellent location, in the centre of Ypres. Sophia was very friendly and the breakfast was more than enough.
