Nice quiet area with terrace and beauty view . We met nice local people . House has everything we needed. You can go down towards the ocean . There is a waterfall and stunning view :) My boyfriend and I love that place ! We got some fruit , vine and tasty Madeira’s cake . Thank you !

We were born in Madeira island, we like to travel and meet people, and it is a great pleasure to help travellers to discover our island.

Property info

Casa Calhau da Lapa is an independent part of a rural house, and it is ideal for families and groups up to four people. The accommodation is 55 m2 and comprises two bedrooms, living room with kitchen and dining table, bathroom and terrace. The terrace is spacious and has a view to the ocean, a small river stream and agricultural land around. It is equipped with a fridge, washing machine, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and other utensils, as well as bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi, TV with international and children’s channels, and other amenities to provide a pleasant and relaxed stay. We are available to provide support during your stay, to recommend places and activities you may like and to find solutions for your needs. We can recommend activities to discover the island off the usual tourist circuits. Guests have access to the ground floor of the house, terrace and barbecue. The upper floor is reserved for occasional use by the owner. The accommodation is for the exclusive use of guests and these spaces are not shared with other users. There is the possibility of parking on the side of the road near the property. Cleaning is done before guests check in and then there is a weekly maintenance cleaning, which includes the change of bed linen and towels. To increase the frequency, an additional cleaning service must be requested. As it is a rural area, there is potential for noise caused by dogs and other domestic animals in neighbouring properties. There are also insects in the surroundings that can be attracted by food scraps.

Neighborhood info

The house is in a rural area just 15 km from Funchal. In the vicinity there are some attractions, such as Calhau da Lapa and Cabo Girão and footpaths. A few kilometers away, you can find mountains and Laurissilva forest for nature lovers and hikers.
