You can organize lot of different activities through hotel staff (camel or horse riding, bikes, etc. ). Food was nice, rooms are clean, we even had a mini fridge. Would recommend.

Grand Sud is at the edge of the Sahara! Probably one of the last homes before you get to Algeria! The location is wonderful. The host is so warm, welcoming, and kind that he makes the stay even better. Plus, if you want to go camping in the desert by camel he will arrange it all for you easily and affordably. So incredible to leave by camel from the hotel into the desert. A car (we had two wheel drive no problem to get here) is probably essential since town is 12-15 minutes driving. The sunset from the upper patio is beautiful over the date palms. Stay here.
Faima is a recently renovated villa in Douz where guests can make the most of the garden and shared lounge. With garden views, this accommodation provides a terrace.

Everything was excellent including facilities, bedding, shower and towels. Very welcoming. It was the nicest place that we stayed in during the past month in Tunisia and Morocco. Excellent breakfast and cookies. If we could rate it higher than 10, we would.
Featuring barbecue facilities, Maison Proche De Désert Douz provides accommodations in Douz.

Our stay at Maison Proche De Desert was really enjoyable for us as a family. The host was kind and generous with all that we needed. There was lots of space for our kids to play and they had a great time in the compound of the house. The dinner was nice. The breakfast was fine- nothing extravagant but was sufficient. We stayed in a total of 4 of the small houses on the site. They were all clean and well supplied with blankets and a clean bathroom. A couple of the houses had comfortable mattresses to sleep on and another couple had beds that weren't as comfortable. So maybe ask about getting the nicer beds. We were well supplied with wood to always have a fire pit burning when we wanted. There was a kitchenette with a fridge, sink, all the utensils you need and a stove-top. The place was a fun experience as a family. If you're looking for luxury and comfort, this isn't the place. But if you're looking for a peaceful experience in the palm forest- I recommend this place. The host was helpful, available, but not pushy and let us have the location to ourselves.
Located in Timbaine, Camp Mars features traditional tents for accommodations overlooking the sand dunes. It offers visits and guided excursions through the desert.

We liked how quiet and comfortable it was and how we could stargaze from one horizon to the other. It's a view you don't get to see that often.
Food was great as well and everyone was really nice.

Camp Abdelmoula is really private and is located 2.5 hours away by 4x4 from their base in Douz. It's in a beautiful location surrounded by dunes (where we climbed up to enjoy the sunset and sunrise) and mountains.
Staff are friendly and the food here is wonderful. We really enjoyed dinner.
There's hot water in the shower room.
Camp facilities are basic, bring your own lights to see better inside the tent. It will be cold in winter so proper warm clothes is required as the blankets are not enough to keep warm.
If you don't have a proper 4x4, you will need to go in their cars and that will be additional fee. Check with Camp Abdelmoula on the cost.
All transactions are cash only in Euro or Dinar.
SaharanSky Luxury camp is heaven on earth! A highlight to our trip to Tunisia. The staff are best in class taking the time to chat with us and make us feel at home (special shout out to Mohamed!). They host a bonfire with music and dancing topping off the whole experience. The tents are phenomenal with all the amenities you would never expect to have in the middle of the desert. The food was absolutely incredible! Make sure you stay here!
The owners could not of done more to make our stay absolutory great ,form meeting us in the main road of Douz at 6pm at night and showing us the way to the property to suppling every thing we needed for a great stay... It was a very last minute dissension to go to the international festival of the Sahara and finding this incredibly CLEAN ,WELCOMING great place was a real bonus and made our time in Douz a time to remember....All thanks to Akram and is wonderful partner.
Wow!!! Defintive recommendation if you stay at Douz! I wish I could give you more than 10 points!! Small bungalow with comfortable bed, bathroom. Beautiful garden. On foot you can reach the beginning of the desert within minutes. The bungalows are located within the palmtree area.
The dinner I booked additionally was really tasteful, it was shown how to traditionally bake bread in the desert sand. Unique experience!!!
The food at camp mars was amazing. I happened to be the only guest during my time there and they took extra special care of me and made sure everything was great. Camp mars is such a unique experience and a once in a lifetime kind of stay. Make the journey here and you will not regret it. You get picked up in the city of Douz and begin an epic adventure through the sand dunes for a few hours before reaching camp.
Mhamed‘s house is incredible! From the living room you can look right into the desert. it’s the last house before the desert starts. He has only 3 rooms, which gives it a very comfy vibe. Mhamed is an incredible honest and genuine man with whom we connected greatly. He took us to the desert in a responsible manner. Douz seems to be the small sister of Tozeur and I liked the smal city vibe there.
It was located well and the price is not bad! Good for a launching point for desert adventures. We had already booked a desert trip with Saharan Sky, but I think the hotel has people who offer cheaper options if that would be of interest (cannot attest to what they include though). But overall seemed safe and was a decent stay in the desert!
Sahara Douz was as expected. There are not many hotel options in the area and none that are luxury for what most would consider luxury, however I would say Sahara Douz did a great job of ensuring we were comfortable. We only stayed one night and the staff is what made the stay great.
Very spacious hotel with lots of places to relax and a very comfortable and inviting bar. Room was pleasant and spacious. If you stay here make sure you visit the hammam and have a massage - they are very very good here. Staff all very helpful and chatty.
A beautiful hotel at the gates of the desert. It has all the facilites a guest could ask in the desert. The staff is very friendly and the buffet of the meals is offering a lot of different dishes. A mandatory stop between a braap and the other.
it was so remote, and I was abale to relax. The property is exceptional! I had a number for the taxi to go into town of Douz. But, my idea was that I didn’t want to see anyone and eat in the house. Great place to revitalise
very authentic experience in a berber house. set remotely, right on the edge of the desert (that could be viewed as good or bad!) about 5km outside Douz. host very friendly, despite having little English.
Our stay at TENTE ELBEY was amazing! Very good location, quit and a very nice people!
The room was very comfortable and in local style!
We can surely recommend this location in Douz!
You can organize lot of different activities through hotel staff (camel or horse riding, bikes, etc. ). Food was nice, rooms are clean, we even had a mini fridge. Would recommend.
The nicest hotel you will ever stay in at this price point. Palatial facilities, nice staff. Yossra was very friendly and helpful. Good bar, huge buffet dinner (50 TND extra).
A remote camp, two hours in a 4x4 from Douz. The tent was really comfortable and the evening meal delicious, and there was alcohol. wish we would have stayed extra nights
The lobby is the only thing we liked of the hotel but despised this we were also harassed by sellers in the lobby not even having the time to check in.
