Fun and Sun on the Costa Brava
A vibrant Costa Brava resort at the foot of mountains, Lloret de Mar has fabulous beaches and plenty to do for all ages. Carrer de Sant Pere leading inland from the beach has lots of international brands shopping and exclusive jewellers. The town also has excellent nightlife, with a wealth of restaurants, bars and one of the Costa Brava’s biggest casinos.
For a taste of culture, the Verdaguer Centre has relics from the Iberian settlement of Puig de Castellet dating to 250 BC.
Just north is Water World, one of Europe’s biggest waterparks, while offshore watersports include diving, snorkelling and sea kayaking. Lloret de Mar also offers go-karts and a few golf courses.
In the center of town are Booking.com’s selection of guest houses, apartments and hotels with pools, while high-rise Lloret de Mar hotels face the town’s 2 beaches – Fenals and Lloret. The latter has a long, tree-lined promenade ending at one of the craggy coves typical of this coastline. The walk up to the cliffs is worth it for the views over the town and Mediterranean Sea.
As Lloret de Mar is only around a 30 minute drive from Girona Airport, it’s not long before you can dip your toes in the water.

It seemed like an expensive & touristy town with bad access for cars which is how most people would visit. Parking seemed like a money-making venture. Perhaps a different hotel would have provided parking after which you can walk around with no problem. It was out of summer season so it's hard to judge but I imagine it's very crowded in the summer. Whether you want to soak up the sun, take a dip in the sea, or enjoy some water sports, Lloret de Mar's beaches have something for everyone. I especially loved the smaller, more secluded coves for a peaceful escape. Beyond the beaches, the town itself is full of life. The restaurants and cafes offer a wide range of delicious cuisine, from traditional Catalan dishes to international options. Every meal was a delight, and the nightlife was lively, with plenty of bars and clubs to choose from if you're looking for evening entertainment. Costa Brava and La Selva should be on everyone's holidays...
Costa Brava and La Selva should be on everyone's holidays plans. Lloret de Mar is part of it and I highly recommend hiring a car and visiting around. No matter your age, there is something for you. It has got it all: location, scenery, sea, history, quiet, party, food, people are friendly and it is safe too.

I stayed here on a solo 4-night trip, last week of September 2024. I really liked my stay here. I stayed on the castell side of Lloret and thank god because the other side was a lot louder with a lot of clubs, raves, casino's, fast food (mcdonalds, kfc etc) and that was not the vibe I was going for at all. 4 nights was just the right time for my stay here. Note to solo female travellers: At nightime just keep your wits about you. I got hit on 3 times during my stay, once being by a waiter who asked me to meet him when he finished work. It did ruin it a bit for me, I'm married and not there for that and did make me a little uncomfortable walking the main shopping/restaurant strip after 10pm.

We check in late without a problem. There was no problem with parking, big comfortable parking is just next to the beach, 2 minutes from the hotel - it is paid one. Free parking is 6 minutes walk from the hotel - it is called Aparcament Can Lloranes if you want to find it on Google maps.
