Offering a year-round outdoor swimming pool and views of the sea, Amanta Beach is set in Nilaveli, 12 mi from Trincomalee. Each air-conditioned room offers a view. Rooms have a private bathroom.

We stayed at Amanta Beach Resort for two nights and wished we would have stayed for a week! The property is beautiful and private but close enough to Nilaveli & Trinco that you could take a Tuk Tuk if you needed to. The rooms were spotless, beautiful, and everything worked perfectly (including the air con). As previous reviewers have said, the beach is your own little private slice of paradise. We were there a few weeks before the heavy season, so the seas were a bit rough, but we spent many hours lounging in the chairs on the sand! The food was amazing too! We had dinner one night and it was one of the best meals that we've had on our year abroad. The owner/chef comes out and explains everything and tells you where he got the ingredients from (mostly his on-site garden). Shyakthi and his staff make this place what it is! They all go above and beyond to make sure you're enjoying yourself and that you're comfortable. They put a lot of time and energy into the entire experience and it shows. There is a reason this hotel is rated 9+ on Booking and you should definitely come see for yourself!

The hotel was perfect as it was located right on the beach and this part of the beach was so quiet, it was like having your own private beach! The best thing about this hotel were the staff - they were the best staff that I have encountered in hotels in my various trips! So helpful, attentive and making your stay as comfortable as possible. Our host Rashan was amazing! Very welcoming and making sure we had everything we needed! He helped us with some extra cleaning of the room, a great (requested) Sri Lankan breakfast en even taking Euro’s instead of national currency. Thank you for you hospitality and great service! Location is A+ on a beautiful green resort.

    This is a hidden gem, easily screened out if you were looking for 4 star plus. This place is a paradise if you are looking for a relaxing vacation and get trained in Scuba and get certification. Diving school at the edge of this property has all the gear you can rent for the day or you can bring your own. Instructors are experienced in local reefs and diving hot spots. Best food here is Sri Lankan food and fresh off the boat seafood. If you don't like spicy food, choices may be limited. My daughters, one of whom was a Vegan had plenty of choices.

    Nilaveli is a quiet place on the whole.

    Nilaveli is a quiet place on the whole. If you're into snorkeling....dolphin watching and whale watching then this is the ideal place for you. We stayed at an amazing boutique property called cbeyond nelaveli. The property has one of the cleanest Beaches if not the cleanest beach in the area. Also you get picked up at that beach itself for all the activities so it's very convenient. Also a must go place for a drink or swim is Beach lovers. There's actually a few really Beach bar's on this strip of beach. Vitamin Sea is a very cool Beach bar on the same beach.

    Nilaveli beach is great and you really need a vehicle to get around Nilaveli and to the Trinco town and Nilaveli beach, the hotel is perfect if you are there for relaxation and chill. I'm vegetarian hence beachside restaurant is not a perfect place to talk about food, however, the staff of Nilaveli Beach hotel did offer me some good local and international vegetarian dishes and the taste was good as well. You can do many activities there, but the time I was travelling was not ideal for any activities because of the COVID-19. It was more of a forceful stay to pass the day.

    Fabulous resort with excellent friendly staff. Rooms are super clean and beds very comfortable. AC works great and there are fans as well. The food at the restaurant is a bit pricey but we managed to use the fridge in the room and have our driver take us to get snacks and breakfast foods so we ate only our dinner at the resort. The pool is wonderful, clean and there is plenty of shade. The beach also has shade. Beach towels and mats are provide for the pool and beach area so you don't need to take towels from the room. The staff are always asking if you need anything and always have a smile on their faces. This place is fantastic apart from the internet which is only in the area near the lobby and restaurant and is not always the best. Otherwise the resort is a 5 star in our opinion.

    I recommend everybody to go to a good hotel for your stay! Spend some more money but better stay in a good one. We stayed in Nilaveli Beach Front Condos. Nilaveli Beach is a super place. Enjoyed Lovely sunrise.unforgettable! Even we saw the sunset at kinniya on the same day. So it's fab! Pigeon island is a must place to go. You will see how much you love the almighty when going on that little boat. But on the way back its normal. Pregnant ladies...don't go in that boat. I suggest the Navy to have a kind of a big safety boat for travelling. Boat rate - 2000/- ( don't rent from anywhere else, not even from your hotel as it's run by a society) Tickets - we paid only 765/- for 6 Snorkeling rate - 600/- per set per person Don't get safety jackets as it's no use while Snorkeling. They charge 400/-. Don't hire a guide. They will just take you to a place telling you fairy tales. It's a safe place. Officials are there for any assistance. Only thing is you should keep some first aid as sometimes people will get cuts for corals. Enjoy coral and fish. But do not touch! No much places to eat in trinco though. So better have your food in the hotel itself. Our food was awesome at Beach front condos! Ohhh yet mouth watering. If not go to Dutch Bank closer to navy camp. Super clean food! If anyone need any clarification or help please do contact me for more details.

    The view! The whales! The dolphins! The reef sharks! The Turtles! The lagoon! The sea! Viability for days! Sunrises and sun sets! The town is lovely too!!! Use a tuk tuk and get him to take you to temples and around Trincomalee. Also look on tripadvisor for good food places! There are too many but you cant walk to them.

    Wonderful property just a minutes walk from the beach! Staff were very welcoming and couldn’t do enough for us. Room was spacious with a pool side terrace. Fantastic location for all kinds of beach and sight seeing. Tuk tuk tour to Trincomalee was excellent. Brilliant guide and tailored it to suite our family. Snorkelling trip to Pigeon Island was a highlight of our entire trip! Wonderful pool with bar. Ate there one night and the food was traditional and very tasty. Close proximity to beach bars and restaurants

Aslo a big THANKS to the Manager of this Hotel Yaso 🙏🙏🙏 for his patience with me, for his advices and all organizations about excursions, transportation and many information about Sri Lanka 🇱🇰 It’s was really hard for me to leave☝️

    Very quirky, simple hotel right on the beach, tastefully decorated as a beach shack. This is not a swanky hotel, rather a small, simple relaxed hotel. The staff were very friendly, although you do need to understand this is a developing part of the world- so you’re not going to get service like you would in Hawaii or Sydney. We had a delicious curry for dinner and the breakfast buffet very tasty with a selection of traditional foods.

    Gorgeous setting, smallish new property, beautiful top resort quality rooms. ocean view, absolutely lovely place, walk short path to ocean, pool, lounge chair setup under cabanas. nice restaurant on the beach, ask for Sri Lankan breakfast the night before. arranged scuba diving easily (good wreck diving at Trincomalee) fabulous snorkeling at Pigeon Island (turtles, sharks, etc) easily arranged by boat from resort.

    We spent 4 nights in this amazing place. We enjoyed everything there. The bungalow is directly at the beach, surrounded by no other hotel. We really enjoyed going out of our room and directly being at the beach. Mandy and her great employees try really hard to make your stay perfect. Thank you to all of you for your great job - better passion 😇 If I am am in Sri Lanka again I will for sure try to come again!!!!!

    This is the best place we stayed in Sri Lanka on our one month long trip! Gorgeous beach, the kindest owner, great wifi, clean and the most relaxing, beautiful hut! They also have someone offering snorkelling trips to pigeon island who is the kindest guide and I would 100% recommend doing! This hotel is slightly more pricey, but absolutely worth it! We will definitely come back 😊

    Lovely, friendly family, especially the mum who made a good breakfast. Great location very close to the beach. Nice to have a balcony in peaceful surroundings. It was great that we could easily organise our trip to pigeon island through the hotel. We really loved Nilaveli. It is a lot quieter and more authentic than other beach areas around here.

    Location of hotel is amazing. The hotel is located on the best beach in Sri Lanka. Hotel staff are all friendly, always smiling and helpful, all our issues were resolved as quickly as possible. Breakfast was good, 4 choices. Clean pool and the best beach with umbrellas and so many shade from palms.

    Excellent hospitality received from Cardamon hotel- Nilaveli. I was offered personalized service for everything from room to food. My only worries that I could spend for only one night which is not enough to experience the total value of this nice hotel. Keep it up Cardamon Nilaveli Hotel.

    Beautiful hotel. They just completed their maintenance and repair works. The hotel concept is so genuine, not just copy from anywhere, the cozy warm ambience make you so relax. Great room, great food, great service, great beach, all worth the price. Coming back again next year!

    The staff was very friendly, if sometimes a little clumsy. They helped me organise a scooter for a day and offered a laundry service. The pool is fairly big with many seating areas and the beach is just a short walk away.
