Big rooms, extremely helpful staff at the front desk, beautiful views, spa facilities are quite fancy. The jacuzzi in our room did not initially work, but staff was very responsive in getting it fixed and compensating us for the inconvenience.

History and historic wines combine in Montepulciano.
History and historic wines combine in Montepulciano. My husband and I are sommeliers, art and history lovers. This town delivers on all scores and the locals are incredibly inviting and friendly - even more than the typical Italian standard. This town constantly has cultural and musical events, some serious and others simply fun in nature. Wineries close by, and the wine bars, closer.

Montepulciano is beautiful and old and hilly and kind of mysterious. It's fun to walk around – although your legs get sore! All the old buildings and streets and alleys were super cool. It was also great being in the heart of wine country. We'd heard a lot about Italian hospitality but didn't get a whole lot of that – it was still fun to explore ourselves, thpough.

The setting was breathtaking.
The setting was breathtaking. The accommodation was picture book perfect and included free parking! The views from the bell tower, directly across the piazza, made the climb worth every step! Highly recommended but allow yourself a minimum of a two night stay!

We had the great fortune of stumbling into the start of their week-long Bravio delle Botti festivities in which the neighborhoods compete against one another to roll wine barrels up the steep streets of the historical center. We got to see fantastic performances by the drum and flagwaving groups, have fantastic dinners put on by each of the 8 neighborhoods (contrade), and enjoy some shows put on in the Piazza Grande. The town itself is steep and filled with cantinas. Gorgeous historical hill town surrounded by gorgeous rolling hills, vineyards, and olive groves. It's Tuscany at its finest. Fairly well touristed, so be cognizant of prices and a few tourist traps, but otherwise very pleasant.

Montepulciano is a small town and everything is within walking distance, but it's very hilly (up and down). There are several good dining/drinking options (Trattoria di Cagnano on via Dell'Opio Nel Corsa was great for a late dinner!) and good for shops (tourist and retail/clothing/leather). Wine tasting is a must too (great wine options by the glass at the Montepulciano fortress and Enoliteca on via Di Gracciano Nel Corso)

This is a very nice city, however not for the faint of heart. You have to be in good shape as you are walking steep up hill to get to the top of the city. The main street is downhill, so if you happen to stay in a hotel at the top of the hill, you are constantly walking up and down to get anywhere. There is some paid parking at the top, the rest of the parking is down the hill. It is a nice city to visit for the day, not worth staying overnight. There are some wine stores, I recommend Talosa,(off a side street near Piazza grande) they have a wine cellar worth looking at as it is an old tunnel built during WWII. Sales girl was very friendly and helpful
An absolutely stunning agriturismo just outside of Montepulciano. The views from the garden and hot tubs were amazing, the beds very comfortable and breakfast was delicious - we loved the different selection of freshly baked goods every day. An easy 10 minute drive into the town for shops, bars and restaurants etc. We even walked up into Montepulciano one day, via a footpath just before the winery entrance. This is easily one of the best places we have ever stayed in Italy, with so many little luxuries - and we look forward to coming back.
The accomodation is ideally located at the foot of Montepulciano (5 minute ride). The accomodation and surrounding garden were huge (for the two of us) and all required facilities were accounted for. We were well received by the owners, who are very friendly and took the time to run us through all the items at the accommodation.
A plus for us, having travelled quite a bit through Italy and stayed at various locations, was how quiet the area is.
An ideal location to explore the surrounding area and get a good rest.
Central location in stunning Montepulciano. Host very quick to reply via WhatsApp with recommendations, tips for parking, etc.
We loved staying in this historic building. Felt like staying at a relatives apartment- the rooms and furniture appear to be original with their own character (but very well maintained and clean). The rooftop has gorgeous views with an area to sit and enjoy this stunning area.
The host recommended Cafe Poliziano- this is the epitome of my Italian cafe dreams- highly recommend.
Like living in a farm house in the Tuscan countryside. The breakfast area was spacious and well decorated. Most of the rooms have excellent views, and balconies. Our room was spacious, with an armoire and a desk,
The breakfast was our best in Italy, with numerous options available (chosen the night before), and everything was top quality (charcuterie, cheeses, home made pastries). Breakfast service was personal and delightful.
The wild boars seen while returning one evening were a bonus o:)
Outstanding!
Located in the heart of Montepulciano, this family run place is truly amazing. Our room on the top floor was super clean, spacious, with access to the privat garden area on the rooftop (stunning view). The owner Ahmed and his wife were very friendly hosts, who helped us pick the perfect spot for dinner, picked us up from the car park (two minutes walking distance from the hotel) and always had a friendly and genuine smile on their face! Highly recommended and will be back!!
The colours, the furniture, the cups and plates and all of the little details were so well chosen ! Some people might not be interested in those things but it was so pleasant to wake up there ! The location also ! It is exactly at the beginning of the main road of a very uphill road , so you don't have to carry your luggages , and when you stroll around Montepulciano, it is exactly where you would finish your walk ... my favorite stay in Italy 😊
Very thoughtfully put together agritourismo hotel. Nice, new, furnishings including comfortable beds and nice linens. Aircon worked well. Breakfast was a buffet served by hostess, who was very charming. Dining terrace has amazing view of Montepulciano. We had a nice big terrace space with a view. Spotlessly clean. Location ~10 minute drive to Montepulciano, ~20 min to Pienza, and within ~1 hour of Montalcino and Siena.
Love the garden and the view from the garden is amazing ! ! Room is also very nice. Staff is friendly. Bonus is the espresso machine and public drinking water machine that let guest refill anytime. There is not many rooms and it gives us more private/exclusive feel. We stayed for 2 nights only and really feels like home. It is the best hotel throughout our Italy trip. Wish to go back !
the hotel is being renovated to modern comfortable but retain its original style. simply beautiful! And our hosts are super nice, she cooked such a delicious breakfast for us with local produced fresh and organic ingredients….everything is perfect! Montepulciano is my favourite Tuscany town. Over looking our window from the hotel, the view is breathtaking!
Excellent stay in Montepulciano. Very charming hotel with spacious and clean rooms, and comfortable bed. Hotel staff very helpful, they booked a taxi for us and ensured everything was sorted with parking. I was concerned about driving through the narrow streets, we had a large rental car but it was no issue at all. 100% recommend staying here.
This is a one of a kind stay that I hope to return to often. I highly recommend you include this spot on your trip to Italy. The hosts were lovely and accommodating and the house sits in a beautiful field of olives, grapes, lemons, artichokes, and countless herbs. At night we saw deer and rabbits and beautiful sunsets. Best part of our trip.
Excellent location. Close to bus, wineries, restaurants and shopping. Incredible views, giant windows, light and bright, wonderful decor. By far my favorite place we have stayed on our Italy trip. Amazing combo of ancient and modern. There were 2 standing fans and that helped a lot. Great kitchen equipment. Lovely balcony
My wife and I stayed here in May 2023 while bike touring in Italy. Marta really looked after us and our bikes. While having breakfast in the enoteca, we also learned a lot about wine production from Marta. A true professional. Thank you we will be back for sure to buy some of your local wines and produce.
Warm welcome by the host Gianni along with a bottle of well known Montepulciano red. The place is a little bit away from the center but we already know and expected that prior to booking. The place was clean and huge! Maybe the biggest bathroom we’ve stayed at in Italy.
The grounds were lovely especially the area around the pool. The views were gorgeous of Montepulciano. Susy had a welcome bottle of wine and other foods to help get us going in the mornings. Susy gave us a wine tasting at her winery and was very helpful.
Everything was great !!! This was beatiful, arranged with perfect taste apartment with two bedrooms. One of the best places I've ever been. Perfect for Montepulciano and Tuscany. You can feel the atmosphere of ancient Italy. Total reccomendation :)
great stay in Montepulciano. There’s parking available down the street for hotel guests. Location is the best possible :)
good, clean, comfortable room, good wifi, nice staff
A beautiful small hotel. Very welcoming and friendly staff.
The food in the restaurant was wonderful. A 20 minute walk to Montepulciano, a beautiful town.
