The layout of Rocroi is very interesting.
The layout of Rocroi is very interesting. The central square has 10 streets radiating from it, and the town is surrounded by the remains of a star fort, much of the battlements of which are remarkably well preserved. Many of the town's buildings survive from the 16th century.

You needed to open the windows to have a good view of the church and the town centre as the lower glass panes are opaque. But still great! The town of Rocroi is historically very interesting, with its star shaped fortifications, and many buildings looking as if they date back to when it was garrisoned by troops. I had no idea it was so unusual and interesting.

We enjoyed our meal, our room was clean and bright and we appreciated the secure motorcycle parking, though I doubt it was needed.
