The historical hotel was very cool. Lots of neat things to check out inside and around it. The location is perfect for Beale street activities and we were able to walk to The Flight, where we made dinner reservations. It was a short walk with nice views on the way. Beale St was fun. We took a walk through after having supper. Lots of fun and cool shops and places to eat on Beale and even headed there. The lights and music made it a good time. We LOVED the room service breakfast. The butter was shaped like a duck! Too neat! Great place to visit and stay for our anniversary. It was peaceful while yet fun and enjoyable! The bed was very comfortable too!

I paid the higher rate to include the breakfast and the hotel refused to include the breakfast during the stay despite me showing them clearly that it was to be included in the booking confirmation that I received. All they would say was I had to take it up with the third party I booked with

Touring Beale Street and listening to the live music having cocktails was great. There is a lot to see on Beale Street and the surrounding area. I also enjoyed going to the pyramid and the look out restaurant they had their food was delicious as well as their cocktails. I was able to walk to most all of the attractions.

We'd heard a lot of horror stories about crime and the danger for tourists in Memphis. Never had a problem and fe!t perfectly safe walking around the area near our hotel on Union Avenue. Walked to Beale Street, went to a club and didn't leave until 1130 at night, walked back to our hotel, never felt in any danger. YMMV....

Unfortunately, we arrived late due to the Greyhound bus with three hours delay. We tried to do everything we planned to do. Would like to have spent more time at Graceland, such as visiting Elvis planes. Sun Studio tour was awesome, Beale St not too impressive. Found the music scene in Nashville better.

I was surprised at the number of medical facilities. I had heard Memphis is one of the most dangerous cities in America. So, I limited my excursions to daytime only. I passed on having to park at a parking garage and having to walk to Beale Street for an evening ghost tour.

For lovers of rock and soul music, it’s a great place to visit. Lots to see and hear. Good bars and restaurants, although food is almost exclusively fried. Peabody hotel with its duck parade is a lovely place to stay, or just visit. Graceland and Sun Studio well worth visiting.

Everyday was a new surprise - botanical gardens with tulips and dogwood at peak, art museum, Elvis' Graceland, walk across the Mississippi River on old train bridge, Lorraine Motel and National Civil Rights Museum, Sun Records Studio, big city shopping with NICE departlment store, Beale Street, South Main Street District, Chucalissa village of Mississipian culture mounds and great trails, rich neighborhoods, poor neighborhoons - and did I mention all the great food (real fried chicken, hush pupplies, fried okra, grits, bar-bq, coconut cake, pecan pie, Mississippi mud pie, and microbreweries to name a few. AND the people of Memphis are very friendly and welcoming.
snow storm when we were in Memphis but the hotel were keen to ensure we knew the situation and gave us flyers for delivery service etc.
They had their team stay overnight to ensure there were staff the following morning.
Slow service but that was to be expected and they delt with the situation well.
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
Gym was a good size for a hotel and the breakfast was good.
Room was okay size but clean and had everything needed.
Location good and everything was walkable, even with the snowy weather.
Breakfast was good and adequate to get you going for the day. The room was clean and big enough for 2 sharing. We had a great view over the Mississippi River. The hotel is a block from the "trolley " (tram) which goes down Main Street (and other places) and is cheap...US$2 for an all day pass. We stayed 3 nights which is more than enough time in Memphis. Downtown is a little "sad", however if you get out into the suburbs there are some beautiful properties. The Staff were excellent and helpful.
My boyfriend and I love going into the city every other weekend to enjoy the downtown vibes of Memphis. Our first stay at this hotel made our trip more pleasurable than usual. The restaurant and bar stayed open until 12 AM. Our favorite quality was the fact that hotel was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to be including Beale St. The bed was super comfy and the room was quite spacious. Staff was also very courteous and friendly. We have already rebooked for our next stay.
Great location near Graceland. Secured parking on-site and lots of staff. Staff was friendly and helpful. Pool and gym on site. Lots of neat extra stuff like Elvis movies playing, live music, lawn toys and peanut butter sandwiches in the lobby in the evenings. Over all pretty neat hotel. The price for Friday night was more than double what we paid for our Thursday night, which I get. Would recommend coming during the week.
The location is awesome. we came to Memphis for an NBA game at the FedEx forum which is only 2 blocks away. The bonus was Beale Street right beside the hotel. We are at the Blues City Cafe and walked around a while before we went to the game. The hot breakfast was delicious. The room was immaculate (including the baseboards in the bathroom which I found remarkable).
Decor is fun and creative, good for families and couples
Location is fine - on outskirts of Memphis but easy to get places by car
Free shuttle service (albeit we did not use this)
Huge, spacious rooms
Nice observation deck on rooftop of hotel
Parking was cheap and convenient
Welcome basket with snacks provided
Free coffee in mornings
Fun whirlpool bath
The location was excellent and the gated parking was on point. All though there was no housekeeping service the hotel staff was ready to meet our request for fresh linens on a timely manner. The room was a nice size with a king bed and I loved the over sized chair and ottoman I will use this hotel again when in the Memphis area.
Tim and the team were super helpful when our hotel booking let us down at really short notice. This apartment is easy to find, super convenient for Beale Street, Riverside, and the Civil Rights Museum., but quite quiet at night. Lots of nice restaurants locally.
We would definitely stay here again when in Memphis.
I enjoyed the staff. There was a tall black gentleman with a beard, he was very friendly. The room was very nice, clean, and comfortable. It was also very quiet. I really liked the location, it's in a good spot with it being close to the University of Memphis yet also close to midtown/downtown area.
This hotel was very good. Room was clean and large enough. Breakfast was excellent provided you just wanted something adequate to start the day. Indoor pool was very nice. Location superb for downtown and Sun Studios both within walking distance. Graceland 7 miles away and was easy to reach by car.
Beautiful hotel right next to Graceland with everything Elvis. The staff were friendly/helpful & they have shuttle buses which run regularly to Graceland. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfortable & bathroom was huge with the best shower head. Great pool area & the food/dining restaurants were great.
The hotel and room was very clean and updated. The location was close to downtown, only a short drive to Beale street and all other downtown activities. The staff was friendly. I especially appreciated the 24/7 coffee available, and was very impressed with how good the coffee was.
Our room was great! We were upgraded to a King size bed and ended up with a corner room with great views of downtown Memphis. The spa experience was awesome and the hotel lobby/bar was nice to relax after dinner. The bartenders were exceptional and Anna was our favorite!
Everything about this place is a treat. Super cool, great decor and very stylish.
Fantastic bar and restaurant.
Lovely, friendly and helpful staff.
Good sized and well designed rooms.
Easy access and plenty of parking. Very safe and secure.
Perfect Memphis hotel.
I loved that the Hotel was connected to the Amtrak Train Station and The City Of New Orleans Line. I can take the train from any of the stops along the line to Memphis and stay here then take the trolley all over downtown to see many historic sites.
The location was fantastic. Centrally located in downtown Memphis and walking distance from many attractions.
We enjoyed watching the duck march in the hotel lobby. The hotel lobby is beautiful and well maintained.
The staff was alive. I was free make a decision to upgrade and take myself and my daughter to more liveable hotel. The Hotel Indigo downtown Memphis and get as far as away from This LaQuinta as possible.
This hotel is better than what the previous reviews would suggest. The room was nice and appears to be newly renovated. The neighborhood was fine, not great but not bad (it's Memphis).
