Very comfortable and spacious rooms, with a chic 60s style but modern at the same time. Bar and breakfast areas are beautifully decorated to bring back that 60s ambience of the original newspaper building. Breakfast was limited but good quality.

The staff were all perfectly friendly and helpful, and the hotel bar was also nice. I didn't make use of the car park, but it seemed well appointed and easy to use if one needed it. The location is also very convenient to a lot of University of Warwick buildings (probably the main reason most people would stay here) and the university bus interchange.

This traditional hotel is just 4 miles from Coventry city center. Located just off the A46, with great road links to the M6 and M40 motorways, it offers refurbished rooms and free parking.
A great stay, good food, comfy bed and clean room.
Southeast of Birmingham, Coventry is best known for the shell of its old cathedral, a poignant reminder of the damage sustained during World War II. Part of its northern wall joins the new Modernist cathedral, designed by Sir Basil Spence.
In the neighboring gardens, there are remains of an 11th-century Benedictine monastery set up by Lord Leofric. His wife, Lady Godiva, became Coventry’s greatest legend by riding naked on horseback in protest of her husband’s high taxes.
St. Mary’s Guildhall is built on part of the old castle, and Baginton on the city’s outskirts houses the reconstructed Roman Lunt Fort. Coventry Airport is also here, by the Midland Air Museum, where the exhibits include a Vulcan.
The Coventry Transport Museum has great examples of vehicles manufactured in the city over the years. Another point of interest are the canals north of the city's center, lined by historic buildings. Other attractions include the Warwick Arts Centre – the UK’s 2nd largest – and the Ricoh Arena, home of Coventry City FC. The Sky Dome Arena is an ice hockey and music venue, while the best shopping is found in Arena Park Center.
The city has 2 universities and tons of bars and restaurants. There are also several Coventry hotels, guesthouses and country houses on Booking.com, most with parking and some with pools.
As former residence of Coventry we didn't visit the city.
As former residence of Coventry we didn't visit the city. We were going to Oxford and the Cocked Hat was ideally placed for outward and return journeys from Yorkshire.
One place that we always visit in Coventry is the War Memorial Park which is good for a walk with free parking for 3 hours and a park and ride bus running every half hour.

I have visited Coventry a few times and every time I come back I am pleased with my trip. Beautiful architecture and friendly people. The diverse food options are great and the food is tasty and cheap! Citizens are helpful and polite which is refreshing when you’re from down south. Popeys and Chinese kitchen are always a bargain and full of flavour, although they are not in the city centre but they are worth a try :)
The cathedral is always worth a visit! As well as the museum which is next to it, there are lots of statues and details which hold the city’s culture and history.
The market is also worth a visit full of culture from Irish to African, the people are welcoming and are not trying to haggle your money. It is easy to get around as everything is closer than you would expect.

As the ‘motor city’ Coventry should have better traffic...
As the ‘motor city’ Coventry should have better traffic management; it’s a bit of a nightmare to navigate at busy times. But there are many worthy attractions and Coventry is starting to move out from under the shadow of Birmingham. The new rail station is good to see and there are so many lovely old buildings to explore. (The latter somewhat reduce the impact of so many high rise student flats. What possessed the local council to dish out so many permits for student accom? They do not enhance the skyline, never mind the well-being of residents.)

We adored the water features in the middle of the pavement!
We adored the water features in the middle of the pavement! So many sequences and lights ,fascinating. The Museum and wildlife photography exhibition brilliant, the Cathedral and ruins, the wonderful market. Neither my sister and I had visited before so were delighted not just to see the statue of Lady Godiva, but the amazing event which happens every hour on the building behind her. Amusing and well worth watching. ( Naughty peeping Tom ! )
All in all Coventry has amazing choices of where and what to eat. The Old Wetherspoons is well worth a visit. We went twice. We are certainly planning another visit before the end of the year. Shirl

I'm from Coventry and know it well.
I'm from Coventry and know it well. Although I feel affection for my home city, I don't actually like it very much.
There are some brilliant attractions, nice restaurants, and the city centre can be pleasant on a summer's day; however much of the city looks dirty and worn, and I don't always feel safe walking in the city at night. For this reason a city centre hotel with parking on the outskirts entails using cabs or buses to reach the car, which adds expense.
I think for a visitor though those things are manageable; Coventry's no worse, probably better and safer, than many cities; it's just not like it was when I grew up there.
I'm surprised the Transport Museum and the Herbert Gallery are not listed as attractions to rate here. The city also has a proud and deserved musical heritage (Two-Tone) and there are exhibits about this, and some wonderfully preserved mediaeval buildings (Spon Street and elsewhere). There is a fascinating preserved archaeological dig in the cathedral quarter that was extensively covered by Time Team.

There's plenty to do for a weekend visit: the Transport Museum is one none of the best in the country & certainly one located in the middle of the city centre. Herbert Gallery has a great location in a terrific building & location. Coventry Cathedral is beautiful & unique & a wonderful example of post-war British architecture as is the shopping area made up of a series of interlocking pedestrian precincts that was Britain's first. The 1950s architecture is fantastic & a little bit like time-travelling as it is largely complete & unspoilt.
There is plenty of shopping opportunities with a really wide mix of shops that makes the city centre a place for everyone & this is shown to be true as, at the weekends, it's full of people & provides a dynamic atmosphere to the city.
I have been coming to the old mill the last few years. Its like being at home for me .Mark and his team make me want to come again. Nothing is impossible. The food is fantastic. Breakfast, evening meal every wish is made. It's like a big family atmosphere here. I look forward everytime I come and always a warm welcome from Katie on the reception. If its checking in or checking out always a lovely smile on her face.
The best hotel to stay and eat in Coventry.
Unique historic hotel. Impressive decor. Luxurious bedroom. Beautiful grounds. Professional and kind staff. Lots to do and so much space to spread out. A really gorgeous venue. Four poster bedroom in the red building (room 67, ground floor) was unexpectedly grand and spaceous. Birthday cards and chocolate for my husband's birthday which was a lovely surprise. Immaculately clean for a historic building.
Great hotel. Spotlessly clean the staff very friendly always greeted you with a smile. The rooms were perfect with a big selection of tv channels. As a non driver it was great having the train right outside only took about 20 mins to get to / from Birmingham airport. I went to watch the snooker in Coventry society arena it's right on site so everything was perfect. Would definitely stay there again.
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice and the staff were, again, very friendly. Room was large, comfortable and clean and I was lucky to be on a high floor with a nice view of the Coventry skyline. Very close to Coventry Butts Park Arena (3 minute walk). Pleasantly surprised by how good this hotel was. Would definitely stay again.
Value for money.I always stay here and if its fully booked. Believe it or not I sleep in the hire car. Even if there are other hotels nearby available at cheaper rates (which is very rare to none). Bearing in mind i travel to and from Birmingham soon as i wake up. I have no connections or business in Coventry whatsoever!!! Or maybe im just a loyal person.
Absolutely spotless rooms with very modern facilities.
Bathroom had nice full bottles of shampoo/shower gel and extra toilet paper.
Kitchen had plenty cutlery/utensils/cleaning supplies.
Cheaper than other hotels and in a great location close to the city centre
Accommodating hosts for late check in at no extra charge, friendly and straight forward
It was the best breakfast we have ever had, the staff were so friendly and efficient.
The room was gorgeous, interesting with different newspaper articles, it felt like we stepped back in time, the bed was extremely comfy and it was the best shower , we really enjoyed our stay snd we would highly recommend staying at the Telegraph hotel
Room was clean and had all the facilities that we required for this trip. The breakfast was fresh and nicely cooked with a good choice of dishes. The bar was reasonably stocked and the hotel was clean and good value. The restaurant served a balanced menu and the food was well prepared. One of the best places for dinner in Coventry.
Nice room. Basic, but had everything we needed. Modern decor. Comfy bed, good shower etc. The location is perfect for Coventry town centre. A walk through the pedestrian underpass across the big roundabout and your in town. Parking in the hotels own carpark was only a fiver. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location is great, very close to city centre. The car park is huge and cheap (£5 for each night you stay). The hotel overall seemed very clean and welcoming. Loved the shower, hot and good water pressure!
Room was clean and a good size. Bed was comfy. Shower was lovely. My room was very quiet. The hotel/pub are very dog friendly, you can eat in the bar area and outside in the courtyard with the dogs. Staff were very friendly and helpful
For a motorway hotel this is a genuinely good place to stay. Conveniently located close to Coventry. The rooms are clean, quiet and comfortable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Have stayed here a few times now.
The Hotel is located close the the M6 and M69 at Coventry and is easy to find. It is in a business district and the roads around it lack character. Our room was remote, so it was quiet and it was also roomy.
We have given the hotel 5/10. The staff were amazing - friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough.
The food in the restaurant was also excellent! Good value and perfectly cooked.
Great location downtown Coventry. Superb terrace bar on the hotel roof. Breakfast was truly excellent. Would definitely stay here again when next in Coventry.
