We stayed for one night and then had a trip to the desert for another night. The room was very clean and the location just the right compromise between close to the center and quiet.
The desert trip was far off the normal tourist routes. Two jeeps took us, another couple and the equipment to the border of the national park where the large dunes start. We had a private walk through the dunes and slept on a mattress under the stars. It was an exceptional experience. In case of a sand storm, the organizers would have provided a tent for us to sleep in. Still, you should expect some wind in the night, so make sure to bring something to cover your head. The food was ok, just don’t expect something like from the best restaurants if you’re cooking on a campfire in the middle of the desert. The trip was 2000 dirham per person (without trying to bargain), which is definitely more expensive than if you go with other organizations. But for us the whole experience was well worth the money.
Located in Zagora, Prends Ton Temps offers Moroccan-style accommodations with views of the sand dunes. It has a restaurant and serves Moroccan and continental breakfast in the morning.

No decent size shops not even a proper supermarket eg Carrefour. Can be difficult if not speak French or Arabic . Lots of beggars and sad sights like a man scavenging in bins. Dry and hot and dusty. No local bus services . Pedestrian crossings are ignored. Feels like the back of beyond lots of rubbish

Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert.
Zagora is the gate to the Sahara desert. The village itself has a lot of nice bars, restaurants and hotels, and is the starting point for guided tours in the desert, all or not on a dromedary, all or not with an overnight stay in tent camps, for 1 or more days. Next to that, Zagora has twice a week a very big local market (Wednesday and Sunday) that is a must to experience! Further down the N9 you can find the small town Tamegroute, famous for its artisanal green pottery. Also a must to stop there and see the 7 families at work outside.
Oasis Tilogui is a medium seized walled off place so when you enter it feels a bit like a vacation village but the facilities are great and the cabins spacious and comfortable. You have your own roof terrace overlooking the desert and the staff is friendly and attentive. You are around 10 km from Zagora; the kitchen is great and offers standard Moroccan dishes. Breakfast was healthy with fresh fruit and yoghurt, a welcome change from the good but heavy standard breakfasts typically served in the riads..
Amazing stay at the Dromadaire. It has more of a guest house vibe than a hotel. Spacious apartment with an en suite bathroom, a cute little balcony looking on the main street of Zagora, and a delicious breakfast served in the restaurant downstairs.
The owner mr Mustafa and his son Redwane took real good care of us and gave us excellent tips on things to do and see. We discovered hidden gems in the Kasba and learned so much thanks to mr Mustafa who had such interesting stories to tell.
Highly recommend.
We loved this hotel which is in a nice quiet location. Our comfortable rooms, which were tastefully decorated, opened directly on to the pool area. The owners were lovely- very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was great with lots of variety and the evening meal served on the roof terrace was amazing - so much food and so delicious! The owners were really accommodating and let my husband run his moth trap in the evening to see what amazing species live here. He really appreciated that.
We can only recommend this RIAD. When we arrived in the city we had not written down the correct address and therefore called the given number. The host met us at an agreed place and took us to the RIAD, the host was super helpful. He showed us around and let us choose between 3 really beautiful rooms. After checking in, the host recommended a nice hotel where we ate delicious Moroccan food. The breakfast, like everything else, was super delicious. Total experience 100%
The hotel building and grounds were quite beautiful, in the middle of a palmerie. The unheated pool was very refreshing, as it was fairly hot when we were there on October 12, 2021. My room and bathroom were clean, but not many windows. The room has A/C, which is necessary, as it was pretty hot inside. They offered a free tour of the palmerie, but we didn't have time, as we arrived late, and were leaving early to get to the starting point of our Erg Chigaga tour.
The room was very spacious with beautiful decoration and very comfortable. Large bathroom with everything you need.
The beds were very comfortable.
The hotel has a great swimming pool which makes all the difference, particularly in the hot days.
We had dinner in the hotel and it was delicious and very well served. Breakfast was also very good, with one of the best coffee I had in Morocco.
Staff is super friendly, polite and attentive.
Best stay in Zagora with Karim Sahara Prestige . And the best in all desert 😊 Location is perfect, tents are impeccable,Lighting of the camp area at night, under the stars, is beautiful. Dinner and breakfast, they are like the ones served in fancy restaurant The berber music by the camp fire was the mari on the cake! And the staff: Karim is so friendly, plus a good desert driver; Omar is very hospitable.
Highly recommended!
The staff at Dar Tiziri are amazing - helpful, fun, considerate and kind. The rooms are huge and there is a pool - although we didn't use it. Free wifi and street parking. The highlight of our time here was the impromptu staff music show that was put on which was great and highly entertaining. Breakfasts are great too! The Riad is a short drive out of Zagora town centre
There are rare times when you are welcomed to your hotel/riad/dar/wherever you’re staying and it feels like you’re being welcomed home. This is one of those cases.
Asaad and Omar are kind, warm, and incredibly welcoming in an authentic way. And they are willing to accommodate whatever you need. It was great to get to stay here and I would recommend it to anyone.
Omar, the manager, couldn’t have been more gracious or helpful. We really appreciate his efforts to make our stay as good as possible.
The art gallery is not to be missed, a surprising collection.
We enjoyed a very good dinner and Omar’s hospitality.
This is a good place to stay in Zagora, close to the center but quiet and serene.
I had a wonderful experience at Riad Zagora Palms. The building was breathtaking, the room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly hospitable. I must mention Ali, who went over and beyond to help make our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Zagora. Thank you so much.
The food was amazing both dinner and breakfast were the best we had during 2 weeks in Morocco , the room is spacious, and comfortable. It needs to improve the facility in the bathroom but thanks to the wonderful staff and great food, I will give a 10. Nothing else to compare after a dessert trip.
Everything about our stay was perfect! Really liked the breakfast, pool, garden and common areas. Felt like home and not like we're staying at a hotel. A piece of heaven!
Staff's really nice and friendly. The trip in the desert (Erg chegaga) with Yaya was no short of amazing.
More of a palace than a hotel.
Situated in a palm grove, the hotel itself has numerous rooms in which to while away a day or three.
The meals are both substantial and healthy
I had some travel problems, which Mohamed the manger kindly sorted out
The pool! The friendly staff! The garden! The check in and out times! The fact that you can make a great walk in the palm trees from the hotel. The secure parking.
The most silent air conditioning I have ever had in any hotel!
