We absolutely loved our stay. The room was comfortable, decorated perfectly, everything in working order, had everything we needed. The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk to the center of town and restaurants. We loved sitting out on the porch enjoying the view. The space allowed us privacy while still offering a chance to speak to your neighbors. The host was super helpful in familiarizing us with the area, with services and with recommendations. Definitely recommend!!!

The room was amazing , inspired by the white island houses. It was super clean and neat! Every day it was cleaned and every second we received clean sheets and towels. The bed was comfortable and playful being it on top of the bathroom. A nice touch of some croissants, sweets, juices served us great for the first day. We enjoyed our morning views on the balcony. A great plus that it is perfectly located near the centre where you can find everything. The host came to meet us to help us to the room. Super friendly and helpful. Overall a great experience. ( Make sure to visit the family owned gift shop near the town hall )

Melograno Villas, hotel in Astypalaia

Offering panoramic views to Astypalaia Town, the castle and the Aegean Sea, Melograno features modern design villas with an outdoor hot tub and fireplace. Astypalaia Town is 984 feet away.

The hosts were exceptionally friendly. I love Greek hospitality! The VILLA was opulent and too much villa for a solo traveller but indeed was little luxury I was willing to pay for. Beautifully designed with warm and welcoming interiors. What I liked the most was waking up to first light and moving to the sun bed to complete my sleep watching the stars fade as the sun rose behind the mountain. Having a soak in the jacuzzi at the end of the day was also wonderful. I was well fed at breakfast and had constant support / communcation with the host who willingly and very kindly guided me back to my villa at 10pm at night when I was a little lost! She also helped with booking of an island hopping day trip. Hassle free. Took the thinking out of my trip and I was in VERY good hands!

    Another cute Greek island.

Another cute Greek island. I have been to 15+ Greek islands over 50 times in total. It is similar to many other Greek islands. Small, cute. The castle and the old town looks really lovely. We went in mid-August. Although the island had probably around 5000 visitors, because there are few restaurants and options, all places were packed. Most of my Greek friends consider Astypalaia as the best Greek island, however in my view it's fine, cute, but I wouldn't say it's more beautiful than many other Greek islands.

The Chora looks great and picturesque, especially from distance. Nice walk to the castle and great to walk in the small narrow streets. Very few shops with art, local products/local art, or galleries though in the small streets. Instead there are mostly restaurants. Most shops/restaurants are set around the area of the windmills which although nice, do not have real view (although if you walk to the castle you get a breathtaking view, but not while seated). Difficult to park in busy times

I've traveled to many islands in Greece.

I've traveled to many islands in Greece. Asytpalaia is the friendliest andprettiest of them all. The town beach is clean, the other beaches like jewels. Food is generally very good and fresh. Everything is in walking distance, some steep steps involved but you can't have the hypnotic beauty and tranquility here without a little gentle pain. The town and streets are spotless and the numerous cats cute and well looked after by the people. Local grocers on the port have just about everything you need and if you can possibly tire of the food at Ageri in Hora or Astropolis in Livadi theres a great Pizza and pasta place right down on the port.

Not sure I want to encourage more people to visit, as this island of less than 2,000 inhabitants is indeed a hidden gem! We were charmed and delighted by this little island as a whole, and in Chora I was pleasantly surprised to find wonderful, chic boutiques, an abundance of phenomenal tavernas, exceptional restaurants (Akti, Cucina), well balanced cocktail bars and a lively atmosphere, as well as some of the best baclava I've ever. It's not for the faint of heart as there are a lot of stairs and hills to climb to get to the castle and the port. The initiative to get the island fully electric is also commended, Astybus was a fantastic alternative to hiring a car and we used it almost every day - there are several pick up points in Chora, which makes it a great base to explore. We'll definitely be back!

Beautiful town with houses set on the hill down from the castle to the port. Lots of little stairs and alleys to get lost in. Spectacular views and the flowers in June were lovely. Bars and restaurants up by the windmills and also down by the port. Plenty of shops.

beautiful chora with an imposing castle that you can visit. The beaches at Livadi and the port were lovely, but a steep walk downhill to both, or steep steps down to the port. The restaurants and bars around the windmills are excellent

The newly built property is gorgeous, modern, and the large, spacious suites provide a feeling of airiness. Breakfast outside overlooking the beautiful pool and with a view of Astypalea’s historic Chora, included fresh orange juice, an array of Greek cheeses and other tasty local delights. The owner and staff went out of their way to be helpful. The hotel is 500 metres from Livadi Beach and array of local Tabernas. Our favourite, without a doubt, Astropelos; one of our best meals we’ve had during our 4 weeks in Greece.

Owner Mike was very accommodating given that my ferry arrived early in the morning. He picked me up & brought me to the property! The property is incredibly beautiful. Each room has an attached Jacuzzi overlooking the island. The Jacuzzi was kept nice and warm given the windy conditions making it an amazing experience. The view cannot be beat. The shower had good pressure. The bed was comfortable. There was an Illy coffee machine which I now need to buy Because it made the best coffee!!

The nicest people and best service you can hope to come across during your vacation! If you're thinking about visiting the island (and you should!), Gerani Studios should be at the top of your list for accomodations. The rooms and facilities are impeccable, tastefully decorated, and in a very convenient location, much better than you'd think for that price range. The restaurant next door is excellent as well. We're definitely planning to stay there again in the future.

Wonderful hotel and fantastic breakfast - spa was also very good. The breakfast team and Marietta deserve a shout out for making us feel extremely welcome and looked after, offering lots of local recommendations, Astybus and arranging to use the spa showers before we left for the airport. The decor in Cucina was stylish, and the food and cocktails were exceptional. We've already started planning our trip for next year.

Mrs. Evaggelia, the owner and the soul of the dolphin hotel in Astypalea. With smile he welcomed me and with smile he said me goodbye. Her kindness and smile is the definition of Greek hospitality. The rooms were spotless, in a beautiful location. Every day she offered handmade delicacies and cleaned the room. Special thanks for the jams, Thank you so much for your hospitality Mrs. Evaggelia. See you soon again.

Hands down the best hotel stay I've ever had. The PEOPLE are by far the biggest asset - Virginia, Aggeliki, Dimitra, Renie, Nantia, Roussos, Yiorgos, thank you again for such a memorable stay. From the airport pickup/drop-off with Roussos, the conversations with the ladies, the local food, tips about things to do and see, the architecture and suites themselves - couldn't have asked for more.

The room was very clean, spacious enough for a couple and benefited from having amazing views over the Castle and the Chora. We loved the design which was in line with classic Cyclades/Aegean colours and slept well in the high quality mattress (Cocomat). The hotel is family run and we both felt very welcomed by everyone. They were also kind enough to help us with our laundry for free!

Best location on island in my opinion for view and walking to restaurants, bus stop, etc. Best views are in the non studio rooms. Studio rooms are down below main level, still with a view but with a telephone pole and wires and a shared terrace. If coming for a view, get the non studio rooms. Breakfast was good and varied in choices, staff was nice..a lovely stay.
