The location was perfect for us. We used the bus to go to Maroon Bells, easily walked to restaurants, etc. Also, both staff members we interacted with were very friendly and helpful. One helped us by looking up the directions through a nearby pass and printed a map for us and brought it to our room. The other talked us through the intricacies of transportation to Maroon Bells and even allowed us to leave our car on the property on checkout day while we went to Maroon Bells, which saved us a lot of money. Also, our room was huge, all the beds were comfortable, the bathroom was large and immaculate, and we loved the little kitchen (although we didn't use it).

As an Aspen visitor for many years, I am disappointed with the high-value construction that has removed much of the city’s charm. The setting is as beautiful as ever with its exceptional hiking opportunities.

Great place to visit. Very walkable place.
Great place to visit. Very walkable place.
We drove from Denver to Aspen; beautiful drive but the last hour or so, should be done during daylight hours as the road gets very narrow, with very close and dangerous curves.
If possible, fly directly into Aspen.

The town is wonderful but much different than our first trip...
The town is wonderful but much different than our first trip fifty years ago and all of it is not for the best either but it’s still a great town but bring you money as it’s very expensive. It’s to bad we couldn’t get access to go to Maroon Bells as that was where we went on our honeymoon and we would have liked to visit it again.

Aspen was absolutely beautiful. 100% worth going.
Aspen was absolutely beautiful. 100% worth going. Everything is very clean. All the staff we came across were very friendly and helpful. The town provides bus service to several places for free which is great. They also provide a free taxi service that travels inside the city for free. Makes it awesome for your short trips so you aren't constantly having to deal with parking or trying to GPS everywhere with the amount of pedestrians. The gondola was an amazing adventure also. EVERYTHING in town is very pricey so be prepared for some expensive meal tickets.

I visited Aspen with my family over the Christmas holiday and the town was just magical. The friendly and helpful nature of the people in this little town made us feel at home. Ski lessons at Buttermilk was the highlight of our trip. The mountain was beautiful and our instructor was awesome. Getting around town was easy and the bus rides were surprisingly free.

We came in the fall and stayed three nights.
We came in the fall and stayed three nights. We visited Maroon Bells, Kebler Pass, took the Silver Queen Gondola to the top of the mountain for the fantastic view. We even took Dean' Ghost tour one evening. Also, we visited John Denver's Sanctuary, which is worthwhile. Wish we had one more day to shop and explore the town and beautiful architecture. We really enjoyed Aspen.
We were in Aspen for a volleyball tournament and the hotel was just a short walk or bike ride away. It was directly across from the city center. It was absolutely the best location. We brought our bikes and were able to lock them up in the cute small courtyard that was in the center of all the rooms. I read reviews that claimed their rooms were dated and needed work. I did not feel that at all. Yes, its very cabiny. But #2 was well appointed and very clean. LOVED the old workshop table in kitchen being used as an island.
Stayed in September 2022. We loved the location of the hotel. We walked to dining and shopping. The studio condo was spacious. The balcony view was really lovely. We loved the outdoor space with pool and hot tubs. It was a great fall getaway time for us, as we were there in a quiet, not so crowded time of year. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again. We can’t believe it took 40 years to return to Aspen. It was worth the wait. This hotel helped make the experience memorable.
The apartment is fabulous, spread between two floors. We traveled in a group of 3 and each of us had a bedroom with double bed and a private bathroom - very convenient. Fireplace with real wood, all ready and easy to set. Very clean and well equipped kitchen. Easy and friendly communication with host who quickly responded to any queries we had. Apartment is located right next to gondola and 5min walk to Aspen Center. I highly recommend this place.
The staff at Mountain Chalet Aspen are exceptional- everyone is friendly and when I left something behind in the room they took the trouble to message me and help sort out onward delivery. the hotel is in the style of a Swiss Chalet and is utterly charming. it’s not the most fancy and the decor is slightly tired but that doesn’t detract from the comfort offered by the hotel. The includes breakfast was also really good.
Hotel Durant was a great find for us! Cozy, about 20 rooms, very friendly staff & ownership, on the free bus line to Snowmass, only a ten minute walk to anywhere in Aspen, a well laid out & tasty Continental breakfast & coffee, comfy friendly lounge with fireplace, lots of interesting guest mates from all over the world…in short, an inn with great lodging karma!!
the pool is amazing
the rooms are super clean and quaint
Tom at the front desk is absolutely amazing, helpful and kind.
the things they offer are dope also.. free whit wine in the lobby in the evening and continental breakfast is very satisfying also.
the location is also very convenient, literally 2 or 3 blocks from downtown Aspen
Our stay at Aspen Mountain Lodge was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. The breakfast had a great selection. The lodge was walking distance to town, about 5-10 minute walk to most of our in-town destinations. The bus shuttle to the mountain stops close to the hotel. The staff was friendly and courteous.
The breakfast was the best continental breakfast I've had. The atmosphere was great. People were staying in the lobby and we made friends. The heated pool and sauna are a nice treat after a day of skiing. Aspen village and it's abundance of entertainment is walking distance from the hotel.
The overall feel of the hotel was great, The lobby was very welcoming and the desk staff were very helpful and friendly, We felt like we were staying at a bed and breakfast. I would highly recommend and without a doubt would stay again!
The hotel is one of the only affordable stays left in Aspen. The room we stayed in was very basic. The location is very convenient. There is coffee at the front desk.
I’ve stayed at the property many times. it’s comfortable and if booked in advance fairly reasonable for Aspen within a very short walk to all of downtown
