I highly recommend this hotel! The check-in process was fast and smooth, and the staff spoke excellent English, which made everything even easier. If you can, choose a room with a city view — it’s absolutely worth it. The location is great, just a short walk from Nanjing Road, making it convenient for shopping and sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was another highlight, with halal options available. Additionally, the concierge was very helpful in arranging a pick-up car from the hotel, which made our travel plans much more convenient. Overall, an excellent experience!

The hotel's location is excellent. It's close to the metro station and has numerous eating and entertainment options nearby. The hotel itself was clean and comfortable, although a little bit dated. The staff were all very helpful and welcoming, and able to speak English (although we communicated in Mandarin).

Housed in a historic neoclassical building, Jin Jiang Pacific Hotel offers elegant rooms located along the popular Nanjing Pedestrian Street.

The hotel is in a historic building beautifully designed and detailed by an Italian architect in 1926, I believe. It is well maintained and the rooms are really nice from a previous era. Also, could not be im a better location, across tje street from airport metro and People’s Park, with the Bund a short walk away.

FAQs about hotels in Shanghai

A Beacon of Modern China

A beacon of 21st-century China, Shanghai is modernizing at an electrifying rate. Nowhere is this more evident than the skyscraper-punctuated Pudong commercial district. The most distinct - the Oriental Pearl Tower - has a ball at the top and bottom and has fabulous city views. A number of towers also twist as they go up – a feat of contemporary engineering.

This side of the city also houses Shanghai Pudong International Airport, while Shanghai Hongqiao Airport is over the Huangpu River in the Puxi district. An area of older and less dominating buildings, Puxi features the elegant Bund area whose varied architecture includes a surprising array of Art Deco.

With a choice of shopping centers and small shops beneath brightly lit neon signs just like Chinatowns across the world, Shanghai shopping is fantastic.

Other must-see Shanghai attractions include the wonderful Shanghai Museum and the Jade Buddha Temple. For a break from the hustle and bustle, head to the Yuyuan Gardens, the beach or peaceful Zhujiajiao Water Town in the west.

Whether you choose one of the Shanghai hotels, apartments or hostels, take time to go to a tea house, a Chinese institution. Also worth sampling are Shanghai hairy crab, steamed dumplings and the freshwater fish so popular with locals.

Shanghai is a fantastic city and well worth visiting.

Shanghai is a fantastic city and well worth visiting. The metro train system is very easy to use, a quick way to move around Shanghai and also great value. The only downside is the amount of shysters hanging around Nanjing Road, although they are not threatening they could make travellers not use to this feel a little uneasy. All in all though I have never felt threatened on my many visits to Shanghai and rate it as one of the safest cities in all of Asia.

Shanghai is a vibrant and modern city, full of impressive architecture, rich culture, and a lively atmosphere. It offers a mix of traditional charm and futuristic style, with plenty of attractions, shopping, and dining options. The hotel is a great choice for travelers looking for comfort and convenience. It’s close to the National Exhibition and Convention Center, making it perfect for business trips. The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, and the staff is attentive and helpful. Although there aren’t many shops and restaurants nearby, the quality of service and amenities make up for it.

Beautiful architecture and unique shopping outlets not found in other countries. Very safe too! We walked in late evening and didn't feel harassed and weren't robbed. Problem was some middle-aged to elderly people spit a lot on the streets, even in malls , quite disgusting really. A lot of smokers on the roads too and while driving. They throw away their cigarettes without even killing the light which means the smoke continued burning smh Some streets are not maintained when it comes to cleanliness and cleaning spit, dog poop (irresponsible owners don't pick up after their pets!) and cigarette butts. Still, I loved the cold weather and shopping and architecture and culture, and ohhh the Bund is so breathtaking at night!

    I love Shanghai.

I love Shanghai. Pearl Tower was amazing with the view of the city, the transparent bridge was just Amazing. Haichang Ocean Park, Disney Park, Wild Park and Snow world at Pudong were all Fantastic. We stay at Pudong and on Nanjing Road. We ate at many restaurants, all were very good. The street food at Yuyuan Garden and near City God Temple were simply authentic. We get around by Metro, Easy and Quick. We use the google translate. The Shangahai people are kind, friendly and quick.

Shanghai is a beautiful elegant city that for me lacks characture and warmth. The metro is efficient and easy to follow. I was unable to get any info on bus travel. The tourist agency's did not have route maps. This hindered some travel experiences as I personally like to travel on local transport. Was disappointed with lack of Chinese New Year Festivities.

This hotel is one of the most beautiful and comfortable I have stayed in. The interior design is gorgeous, the bed comfortable, and the breakfast varied and delicious. I stayed the night at the beginning and end of my holiday as I was transiting through Shanghai. It is 10-15 minutes from the airport, but the hotel has a personalised pick-up/drop-off service, which is very convenient. There are plenty of restaurants nearby. I recommend it.

Very good location, about 15 minutes drive from international airport. Airport shuttle was organised quickly. Hotel is located in quiet area so we had good sleep during our flights layover. Despite we arrived few hours earlier than check in time we have been given room straight away. Room clean, spacious, beds very comfortable, basic cosmetics and slippers provided. We will definitely choose this hotel next time we visit Shanghai.

The hotel was very accommodating by allowing us to check-in early (our flight into Shanghai arrived very early in the morning and we checked out on the same day). The hotel is also very easy to get to from the airport (PVG) and it's location is superb for getting around. There are good eating (Chinese) options within a minute or two from the hotel.
