The property was beautifully designed and spacious with gorgeous courtyard, swimming pools and access to the beach. Breakfast was amazing and we loved that it was served a la cart instead of buffet with no food wasted and always served freshly made.

Bali’s oldest beach resort retains its reputation as a glamorous alternative to nearby Kuta. The coastline of Sanur has a long stretch of white sand lined with restaurants and bars. It is tailor made for chic clientele or families wanting to relax in an exclusive resort or villa without the need to party into the wee hours.
Sanur is also a popular day trip destination for tourists staying in Kuta looking to do some water sports. There are many companies offering diving along its submerged outer reef, jet skiing on top of its blue waters or paragliding in the cool breezes above this ocean paradise.
The shoreline features a cycle path that is also perfect for walking and jogging. At its very northern tip is the ferry terminal that offers boat trips to Nusa Lembongan, a small island off the southeast coast of Bali that is famous for its laid-back atmosphere.
Sanur has its fair share of markets providing an impressive range of artistic handicrafts such as wood carvings and batik paintings. Best of these are the Sindhu Market and the daytime beachfront market.
Sanur is the closest beach to the island’s capital, Denpasar, with its many temples and museums. Booking.com has a range of hotels along Sanur Beach or close to Ngurah International Airport, also known as Denpasar International Airport.
Sanur is a fantastic area in Bali .
It has a vibrant local community feel, but with a Nusa Dusa like beach promenade.
The area is ideal for riding push bikes , shopping , wandering around .
I am thinking I will come again, and miss staying in Seminyak.

It's a kid friendly, local beach with a lot of places to buy snacks, drinks or even sit down for a meal. There were a lot of dive shops and surf shops along the beach to help you on your adventure as well.

Sanur offers the best bits of Bali without the crowds.
Sanur offers the best bits of Bali without the crowds. The beach is bathed in the morning sun and there are plenty of restaurants along the main road and down side streets and beachfront boardwalk. There are gems of places of find amongst the hotels and back roads. You can get to other places such as Ubud easily from here if you wanted a day trip.
Sanur is not a 'party' place like Canggu or Kuta and that only makes it more appealing in my opinion.

A crowded place with lots of beach activity.
A crowded place with lots of beach activity. The main road can be rather crowded at night due to the narrow pavements. There are lots of good choices and opportunities to shop. The Genius bar is a great place for organic foods.

Sanur is a bustling tourist area.
Sanur is a bustling tourist area. The beach itself is not visible from the roadside and one has to walk down to the beach either along some narrow street leading down to the beach or a walkway between the hotels that line the beach. Traffic is horrendous and noisy on the main street but this street is lined up with restaurants and bars so no lack of choice for eating and drinking.
Overall a 3-4 day stay would suffice here unless one takes daily organised tours out of Sanur. There are tons of things to do and see but all require transportation.

Price gouging prevalent- many tourists, and of course the temptation is there to overcharge. We found huge variations in the price of common items, including at the same shop on consecutive days. Lots of tourists trying to thread their way along the narrow pavements avoiding heavy traffic.
A good range of restaurants and bars- but sadly almost all have been forced to add a strongly western orientation to their menus. In general, for those hooked on burgers ("American cuisine"), Indonesia is not going to be the best place to holiday! You will also find places spcialising in "Mexican", "Italian", "Japanese" and other exotics...
Or for those more ready to embrace Indonesia, it is still possible to find at least a limited range of great Indonesian dishes...
We had a lovely stay at Puri Tempo Doeloe Boutique Hotel. We stayed in one of their adorable cottages and found it very comfortable. Their restaurant was delicious and we enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere of the dining location and pool area. We had the pleasure of enjoying their honeymoon package spa treatment and the experience was fantastic. There are so many special touches the property has to offer, such as their cottage full of lanterns that glow beautifully in the evening. Thank you for a divine few days in Sanur, Puri Tempo.
The clean, modern, functional, spacious, comfortable room with great amenity. The friendly, professional, courteous staff who always go above and beyond to satisfy one's needs and requirements. Wayan and his team were excellent as ever. My fourth stay at Bali Bubble with family each time for about a week. It may be a little out of the way in terms of Sanur proper but in every other respect I believe it outshines most other hotels for value and satisfaction. Great pool too that all of the family can enjoy.
We travelled as two couples and had the two bedroom villa with private pool. It was fantastic -spacious and clean.
Each morning the staff cooked us breakfast (at whatever time we asked for) in our own villa. The breakfast included choices of eggs and bacon with fresh fruits, juice, bread/toast, croissants and tea/coffee * or of the above.
We were a short stroll to shops and restaurants, and just a few minutes walk (through one of the other hotels) to Sanur Beach and LOTS more shops and restaurants.
I recently stayed at the RedDoorz Plus at Sunrise Hotel Sanur, and I must say that I was quite impressed with the overall experience. One of the things I particularly liked was the prompt refill of complimentary drinks that were offered. The hotel staff was attentive and ensured that we never ran out of water or coffee. Another aspect that stood out to me was the exceptional housekeeping service. They did an excellent job of making the bed and keeping the room tidy.
It's a boutique hotel off a main road and 20 minutes walk from the beach. Despite the road location it was exceptionally quiet and peaceful - so dead easy to travel to/from but you need transport. I liked the walk through the alleyways around the Sanur neighbourhood but some might prefer to be on the beach.
Just renovated but kept oldie-worldie character however all clean and fresh. Lovely jogolos for cottage accommodation. Good pool.
The rooms are extremely comfortable (the beds! 😁) and the furniture is tropical elegant. The hotel has a display of stunning old Balinese photos and objets d'art. During our stay they also opened up their courtyard once a week to a night market, giving local vendors an opportunity to sell their products. The staff are friendly and responsive. Definitely my new favourite hotel in Sanur.
Central location, can ride bicycle everywhere, 5 mins to the beautiful boardwalk along the beach. There is no breakfast or food available but there is the best restaurant In Sanur opposite the hotel. The staff looked after me so well during my 6 night stay, felt safe and very comfortable. The rooms with the pool are the best I was lucky enough to be in one.
Staying at Maya Sanur confirmed the top notch qualities of the chain itself. Just like the other Maya at Ubud, this property in Sanur continues the Maya legacy, providing the best quality accommodation at the best locations in Bali. Breakfast is to die for with great healthy menu selections and other luxurious menus.
Nice swimming pool located in a gorgeous garden with rich vegetation. The hotel is a bit outdated, especially the rooms but all in all is good, if you pay below 50 euros a night. It’s not on the beach but literally 2 min walk and you get to the gorgeous beach of Sanur full of bars and shops. Staff was very helpful
It is a great hotel for families with a great entertainment area although there were balls missing from the pool table, etc. A nice kids pool area with slide.
The 2 bedroom rooms were amazing and had 2 bathrooms as well. There is a gate at the back to access the main sanur area but it closes early.
We loved the style of the hotel. We don’t like large resorts, we are more comfortable in old style Bali hotels. Respati is well maintained and very clean.
It is in a wonderful location right on the beach.
Even though there is a huge building project next door we didn’t hear construction noise.
Lovely hotel situated on beach. Beautiful gardens & in great area of Sanur! Has a lovely Balinese feel to it.
We had the deluxe beach rooms upstairs with a balcony and daybed which was great! This was our 4th stay at this hotel and would thoroughly recommend. Lovely pool area too!
The host is super-friendly and welcome. Rooms are stylish, clean and well-maintained. It's possible to rent a scooter at the hotel. It takes 3 minutes to get to surfing spots from here, and 5-10 to good eating places in Sanur. Also, the breakfast in the hotel is very good.
Small family run villa with a beautiful garden in the heart of Sanur. Friendly, welcoming atmosphere and service. Close to supermarkets and the old neighbourhood, the “real Bali”, no Instagrammers / digital nomads here but real people, living their lives.
The Hotel is new, so all of the facilities are still in perfect shape. It’s right at the Sanur Beach so we can watch sunrise very well. Staff’s service and greetings is excellent. Food at breakfast is awesome! And become the highlight of my stay.
The pool and garden area were absolutely beautiful. Great place for families! Also, great location right in the downtown area of Sanur. Staff was very friendly and breakfast was delicious!
Akaya Bali is a small pretty hotel in Sanur. It is simple but offers everything you need- comfortable room, beautiful pool, good breakfast. It is definitely good value for the money.
