The Inn at the Canyons was a very charming place to stay. The photos on their website do not do them justice. We were there for two nights, and swam in their beautiful pool and used the hot tub on both nights. McKenna, at the front desk, was especially helpful. The breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and engaging. Our room was very nice and clean. Plus the scenery, outside, was magnificent! This was our first visit to Monticello, and we were very pleased with the choice we made. The price we paid for all of this was a great deal!!

Monticello is the best base to visit The Needles District of Canyonlands National Park. It takes about an hour to get to the visitor center - if you do not make any stops on your way. But the surrounding nature is wonderful, so you probably make lots of stops to take photos. The road into the national park in Indian Creek Canyon is very scenic.
Monticello is a small and quiet town. There's nothing to do there except to spend your night. There are two pizza saloons (the medium pizza costs $15), a Mexican restaurant which had a growing line of customers in the evening and a Thai restaurant which is probably the most expensive in town (minimum $20 for a meal, no drinks).
Its worth to go and have a look at a Mormon temple on the edge of town - it is beautiful.

Lots of beautiful places accessible nearby.
Lots of beautiful places accessible nearby. Town is and has been a drab and boring place unless you live there. With a few exceptions it doesn’t hold much for travelers. Small grocery store, ample fuel stations, hospital. Not known for its restaurants.

Monticello is a convenient place to stay for visiting Canyonlands NP and other area attractions. We were there on a Sunday, and we found many of the restaurants closed, but the ones open offered enough choices of food to eat.

Has few retail opportunities.
Has few retail opportunities. Most of the restaurants are seasonal which ends on Sept 30th. There are three gasoline stations which seems adequate. This is the gateway to the Needles District of Canyonlands.

we wanted a place close to Needles section of Canyonlands NP. Many of the places we wanted to go were dirt roads requiring 4 wheel drive. we really could have stayed a day less. On the extra day we did enjoy a nice road trip to 4 corners and the Cortez, CO. The country is beautiful around here. Monticello was an the best stopping point for our purposes. We certainly could have eliminated one of the three nights, but it worked out.
I liked the indoor pool and hot tub, the breakfast was good. The room was nice, but ours didn't get cleaned from the previous people. It was about 8 pm when we checked in. The hotel was completely booked and the cleaning people had already gone home. The best they could do was give me clean sheets and towels, so I had to take the used ones off and put the new ones on. Other than that everything was fine.
The hotel was a good stop for my travel plans. The room was comfortable and spacious.
The hotel also has a Indoor pool and jacuzzi which I took advantage of after my long day of hiking.
Staff very friendly and helpful. Monticello is a good stop but doesn't have much options for restaurants so the hotel partners with a few take away/take out places who deliver directly to your room.
The owner’s son greeted us upon arrival, he was very polite; shared restaurant options, weather, and things to do around the area. The place was very clean and quiet for how busy they were. The beds were comfortable and rooms very spacious. We had no pets but ended up staying in a pet friendly room and it was very clean. Will book again!
Somewhat old-style motel next to the highway which goes through town, but still it was quiet and comfortable, though my room faced the main road. I got coffee each morning from office. Internet worked well. Bathroom was clean. Bed was comfortable, too. The staff person was friendly. Many affordable eating places nearby.
The room was excellent, it was spotlessly clean and everything in it was new and modern. Very comfortable stay. There isn’t a lot going on in Monticello but there’s a service station with shop & cafe 5 min walk from hotel and some restaurants within 10 min walk. Good location for Arches National Park
The Domes are tucked away and 5 minutes to 7-11. The dome itself is a work of art. I don’t know who their interior designer was but it is absolutely darling! Well lit with solar lights. We had a king bed that was hotel quality. It was wonderful! Mark and Sharon are super classy. Great hosts.
The room was in a former barn, along with a few other rooms. This makes for a very different experience from a regular hotel. There was a well-equipped shared kitchen and general area. We left an e-reader upon departure, which the staff found and mailed to another place we would stay at.
the Location was private and very nice. I did not see anyone for the week I was on site. thank you and your staff. i stay in hotels for work and with no avaibilty i picked here instead very good choices and will stay on site in the future if possible
We stayed for 2 nights in Room 5. A really cosy room with lots of features to compliment its heritage. The Inn oozes history, with artifacts throughout the building. Nice restaurant too, serving wholesome food.
Very cute hotel with nice living / dining room where you can feel at home. The bedroom also makes you feel at home, very confy and with everything you need.
Also it's on a quiet street.
Really cool to stay at a dome. We woke up at 2am to watch the stars and Milky Way, no light pollution around. My family really enjoyed the experience. They are dog friendly as well.
Nice clean comfortable rooms.gud information at the reception .shops near perfect location for needles district canyonlands.my third stay there always gus.c u nect year.
It's one of my favorite motels. It's starting to show it's age, but it's mostly clean, comfortable, and not too loud. Looks like they are starting to renovate.
