The lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruit and other breakfast foods. We arrived in Puno early on the bus, and our tour wanted to pick us up at our hotel. We were booked at the hotel for the next night, but the hotel welcomed us in, let us hang out in the lobby, for 3 hours, let us eat breakfast (we paid 15 soles), and then stored our luggage for us until we returned the next day! They were so nice!

Puno is a great city. I like the view on the lake and the Uros/Taquile Islands. I would go back in a heart beat.
The city itself is easy to access but due to higher elevation, I could only walk very short distances before being tired.

It is worth going to the lake in Puno since it is the highest navigable lake in the world and is also unique because of the islands made of reed. It was interesting seeing the lifestyles of the people living on these lakes. The food served as part of the tour was good, but getting to the restaurant was challenging since the climb up to the restaurant was quite steep. The overall experience was very good.

Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands.
Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands. The city itself is not very interesting, nice main square with a cathedral and few goods restaurants (Mojsa at the bottom of the Main square was really excellent, full of international travelers...). Did not have much time to climb on the nearby hills to have a panoramic view of the Puno & Titicaca. Spent two-day / one-night trip to Uros / Amantani / Taquile islands (overnight at Amantani with a local family), very interesting and very down-to-earth, but we all enjoyed the boat trip, Uros, dancing in local costumes & sunset from the top of Amantani (made it with our 8-year old daughter), as well as the next day at Taquile island. The following night we spent at Uros with Felix (Uros Amaru Marka Lodge) was excellent !

We wanted to come for the cultural experiences of the uro peoples but we saw a people who are abusing tourism to live. We were overcharged at every occurrence from transportation, housing, souvenirs, food etc. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We wish we would have spent time in other places in Peru.

Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small.
Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small. They don't have the artensans or activities that other large towns like Cuzco may have, so if you don't care to visit the floating islands of Uros, you may not want to make the trip.

It was twixt Xmas & new Year. Even so the place was buzzing.
It was twixt Xmas & new Year. Even so the place was buzzing. Markets galore and very well priced. Food was vaery nice in the restuarants.
Dont forget your ina toursit trap and it becomes more apparent as and if you go to the Uros islands. You will not be allowed tp leave until they have rinsed you of every penny they can get out of you -with minimal effort.
There is so much potential to do a lot more but I think the islanders have become lazy and just want to sell you trinkets which in all honesty are mass produced. The guide said they get most if not all oof their income from tourists. I can understand that, but at least make it entertaining rather than a tired old roadshow where they roll out the same thing time after time.
There is a nice promenade along the front with lots of wildlife.
Hope you enjoy.
Happy trails
The best experience we had in Peru, everything was so beautiful and authentic. Cesar and Lucy are extraordinary hosts, they will strive to ensure that you have the best possible stay. The room was breathtaking as well as all the activities that went with it. We went fishing with them on the lake, a memorable memory, and they also took us to neighboring islands. We have learned a lot about their community and history. The meals, included, and prepared by Lucy were delicious.
I recommend 1000 times and I hope we will have the chance to go back.
Very good place, even though it is not especially cheap. Very good location, almost exactly at Plaza the Armas, but it is a more quiet street. Kind staff, spoke perfect english. There was an electric space heater!! Very useful, because during winter at night to have almost freezing remperatures in Puno. Breakfast was lovely. Nice comfy bed, very spaceous room with a balcony, and it was quiet (although hardly any guests when we visited). Hot shower. Ot even has a small "business center". All in all, a very good Hotel.
It's a very nice hotel very close to the Plaza de las armas of Puno. The room was clean and large. The breakfast is very rich including fresh eggs. The hotel was very quite and the beds good to sleep. The bathroom offered hot water at anytime which is not common in Puno.
We had an issue in the bathroom where water was sipping though an isolation. When we reported the issue the fixed the problem from our first stay to the stay one night later. Which is pretty good.
The owner is a great guy. He works hard to keep the place clean and functioning well. I saw him clean the stairs while I was there.
The shared bathroom have nice hot water, great after a 2 day trip around Lake titicaca.
The beds a comfy with warm covers, the temperature is volatile in Puno.
Right next to the bus station, perfect location.
He was very helpful in helping me navigate good restaurants in Puno. What a great guy
We absolutely loved our stay at the lodge! In fact, it was one of our most memorable experiences in Peru. It wasn't just a stay at the hotel - it was an amazing experience that included delicious food, very interesting conversations with Ivan about his family/lifestyle, history of Uros, great tour to other Uros communities, and overall wonderful, relaxing time on the lake Titicaca. Amazing place!
I arrived a lot earlier than check in time because I had a tour starting from Puno so I wanted to drop my bags off and the hotel gave me the room without any additional cost which I really appreciated as it was 4 am and for a solo female traveller like me, this made a big difference.
The room was also a lot bigger than I expected and I had my own twin room with a private bathroom- fantastic
I’ve stayed in a couple different hotels in Puno now. This one is excellent; the best so far! Clean, professional, bilingual staff, good breakfast, well appointed rooms, and great location. Hottest shower I’ve had in Puno! I will say this is a steal at the price I got it at via Booking; the walk-in rate and Google rate (4x) would make this a much more mediocre review on value for money.
What an unusual hotel, which was perfect for me. As always, the staff were so helpful, and the breakfast delicious. There are unusual decorations, and it feels really like “old Peru” to stay there. I would definitely return.
I hope the very helpful teenager is enjoying my Jacket I left behind deliberately! And gratefully.
Lovely wake-up knock, and delicious breakfast.
Good hotel to stay a couple of nights in Puno.
Cheap price for the quality and quietness.
Close to the main streets and to Plaza de Armas. The hotel was good, breakfast too. The check-in was easy to do and since we stayed 1 night on the nearby Islands, they have gladly saved our bags for free during 1 day and a half, until our return.
Really recommended hotel.
Top experience in our Peru trip. The idea of sleeping in floating islands made of straw is unbelievable in itself but doing it in such a beautiful and comfortable way was just breathtaking. The host will personally take you on trips to the Uros community and explain all the intricacies of surviving and thriving in the community. The food is simple but delicious.
The lady at reception was so welcoming and accommodating. Organised tours and also the boat to Bolivia to leave Peru due to state of emergency. It was almost impossible to move anywhere.
The breakfast was fine, always coca tea at reception. This is definitely one of the better places I have stayed in this price range. The location was perfect.
A hotel that harks back to yesteryear. Was probably thriving in its day.The hotel was a long way from Puno centre but in a location magically overlooking Lake Titicaca. The staff were very pleasant. The room was clean, very comfortable bed, great views of the lake over rooftop gardens.
Clever is a nice man. He will help you with what you need. It is good for a night or two just to see Puno and lake Titicaca. It is a semi quiet place with thin windows. It is around three blocks from the square and a half a mile from the port.
Great views of Lake Titikaka. Excellent staff and customer service. Big clean room with comfortable bed and big clean bathroom. We went up on the rooftop and really enjoyed the scenery from afar of Puno, the sunset, and the stars at night.
Great location, helpful staff. Typical Peru (Continental style) breakfast, Fresh and plentiful. Reasonably quiet (e.g. Street / road noise) compared to many other hotels I had stayed at in Peru.
- Very friendly and attentive staff. They helped me with tour & bus ticket arrangement. The hotel is centrally located in Puno, spacious room, and good price for value.
- steady hot water.
Mama Leia and Papa Mario make you feel at home at all times. The food was delicious and we slept super comfortably.
A great place to relax from the hustle and bustle of Peruvian cities.
