Canonica di Corteranzo is an elegant manor house in the Piedmont countryside, 5 minutes' drive from Murisengo. Offering a traditional restaurant, it also produces and sells its own wine. Rooms here are elegant and spacious with beautiful views of the garden or surrounding hills. They have a rustic design with terracotta floors and wood-beamed ceilings. They also include free Wi-Fi, an LCD TV and mini-bar. Homemade jams, cakes and fruit juices are served at breakfast, which can be enjoyed out in the garden in summer. The Canonica is the place where you can gaze into infinity and move your head with tiny, slow, movements. A place where to spend minutes on picking the chair with the best view or wander off along the shapes hidden in the terracotta flooring. This is our homr, open to you and offered as a unique setting for a break in your everyday life. Built in the seventeenth century it was originally a resting place for noble hunters. It was later donated to the Curia of Casale Monferrato and served, until the 1960’s, as the rectory of Corteranzo. In 2003 the Canonica was incorporated in the Calvo family estate. We have personally decorated our nine rooms and the suite with selected fabrics and furniture. This in order to obtain the characteristic warmth and taste you would find at home. Choose the room you like the most, the ones on the first floor are lavish and precious, for a stay that takes you back to ancient times. On the top floor instead you would find rooms that are sober and discreet, contrasted by the warm texture of the impressive oak timber ceiling.
Our family resides on this hill since the seventeenth century. This means that we can offer you the same view our forefathers had when they worked this land. Since three generations we nurture the best of Monferrato wine-making tradition at our Tenuta Isabella, an estate that spans across the entire hill of Corteranzo. A visit or a stay at the relais is a good opportunity to get to know and taste our wines, rich in scents typical for the Monferrato area, that we strive to make not only authentic but also contemporary.
