We had such a lovely stay at San Ottaviano. The reception and restaurant staff were all lovely, attentative and helpful - thank you! We had a room on the first floor and the view from our verana was stunning. The pool area is also lovely with amazing views. We also enjoyed the breakfasts and the evening dinner at the restaurant was lovely too. The on-site brewery tour with tasting was also fun and a good way to meet some other guests at the hotel! The location was good for visiting nearby towns, we especially liked Suvereto for bars and restaurants and a quiet option to visit a local medieval town rather than the big cities. There are also plenty of vineyards nearby to visit - we chose Petra vineyard which was such an interesting experience with a lovely wine tasting with food to finish! A car is necessary but the roads were very manageable. Thank you all at San Ottaviano for a great stay!

Agriturismo San Ottaviano is a historic farmhouse in the unspoiled Maremma area of Tuscany. It offers two swimming pools and a restaurant where you can sample homemade beer. The Agriturismo is composed of 4 rural buildings where you will find the villas and apartments. The accommodations have traditional Tuscan decòr with wooden beams, terracotta floor and stone walls. Guests enjoy a daily International breakfast with local products, including the homemade honey and olive oil. Don't forget to book the restaurant in advance, where you can enjoy a delicious Tuscan meal. You can also buy the homemade produce to take home with you, but also visit, taste and buy the beer from the on-site de'Neri brewery. Free parking is provided and the property is a short drive from Lake Boracifero. You are well placed for exploring the surrounding picturesque towns such as Massa Maritima. Piombino is 40 minutes' drive away for ferries to Elba Island. San Ottaviano is 10 minutes' drive from the town of Monterotondo and the medieval village of Suvereto. The Tuscan coast is 30 minutes away by car.

Our organic farm is located amidst 400 hectares of fields and woods overlooking the peaceful Val di Cornia. Its ancient structures and historical terrain represent the traditional Maremma Toscana. Here, we offer an unforgettable authentic experience of culture, nature, food, adventure and relaxation. For those wishing to relax - with so much to experience on the farm - there is little reason to leave! We are proud to share with our guests our many passions and traditions. We offer guided tours and tastings in our on-site agricultural artisanal brewery, horseback riding lessons and trail rides at our stables, delicious Tuscan dishes in our KM0 restaurant, two 17 x 8 meter pools, miles and miles of marked trails through woods and fields, and many farm animals to visit! (cows, horses, chickens, a cat and bees! ) Close by you will also find hot spings, beautiful beaches, parks, medieval hilltop towns and endless vineyards. Before leaving, be sure to taste our organic extra virgin olive oil, our organic “Millefiori di San Ottaviano” honey, our own organic free-range beef, our homemade jams and, of course, our beer!
San Ottaviano has been in the Neri family for four generations. Originally bought as a working farm much larger than the current 250+ hectares, it has been progressively evolving over the years. Beginning as a large farm estate, the property housed multiple families who contributed to the growth and prosperity of the land. They maintained an on-site school, blacksmith, oil mill and other services. The main activities were olive and sheep farming. The transformation into an agriturismo was started in 1994 by Marco Neri. Francesco, his son, has been running the farm for the past 20 years. The farm has organic certification. Francesco is constantly evolving and expanding their piece of historical paradise to adapt to new markets, while at the same time maintaining the agricultural aspect of their work.
The closest town is the small village of Suvereto, a wonderful destination for food, culture and events. While offering many festivals and social activities, it retains the charm of an ancient medieval walled village. The closest beaches are about 30 km away and are some of the prettiest in Tuscany: the Gulf of Follonica, the Gulf of Baratti and San Vincenzo. The first two have received the Blue Flag for their sandy beaches with a view of Elba. The depth of the water near the shore on these beaches is low enough for children to play and swim. From the agriturismo you can easily reach Pisa and Siena (about 100 km); Florence is about 125 km; the beautiful medieval towns of Volterra and San Gimignano can be reached in a day trip (60 km and 90 km); Massa Marittima, a known city of historical value is only 36 km away. And don’t forget Bolgheri, the famous wine destination (only 45 minutes away). The ferry to the Island of Elba, which leaves from Piombino, is about a 30 minute drive. Some other special nearby attractions include national parks (such as our geothermal park, Le Biancane) and many private, public or secretl hotsprings.
