Wayne & Cheryl married in 1993, blending their 2 families. We owned a 24/7 trucking business in Alberta before semi-retiring to Vancouver Island. Cheryl was born and raised in the Vancouver area. You can take the girl out of BC but you can't take BC out of the girl. We both take pride in the customer service we provide to our guests, which starts well before the guest arrives. We love to answer questions and help guests plan their stay on the Island. We are well travelled here on the Island as well as most of BC and Alberta.

We came to Vancouver Island looking for a business and a home. We discovered both in this property. We fell in love with it instantly and we are able to relive that experience in the faces of our guests as they go "Wow". Their smiles and appreciation for the beauty of both this home and the huge back yard mirror exactly how we felt. It's been 11 years now and it's still a labour of love. Families playing soccer or bocce. The smell of the BBQ. The laughter. There's no place better to find solace.

When we first moved to the Alberni Valley, we were excited to explore our new community. Without a doubt, this is the friendliest town. We were welcomed whole heartedly by the business community and we really feel at home here. Our guests continually tell us they find the same thing. Our summer weather is very hot due to being in a valley between mountains and the ocean. One of the slogans is `The Place where the Island Smiles` which describes Alberni both geographically and personality wise. Day tripping is possible to many of the other communities. There is an extensive trail system throughout the forested areas. Sproat Lake is just 15 minutes down the road for all water sports. Unique artisans and crafts people depict the beauty of our area in their art. Sports events most weekends.
