We enjoyed visiting the cathedral and the surrounding old town. Also seeing the steady stream of pilgrims arriving elated at the main square in front of the cathedral. We had hoped to see the priests swinging the censor during mass, but this apparently only happens on certain days of the year. You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical...
You don't have to be catholic to appreciate the historical aspect of this charming city. We attended noon mass one day and visited the crypt with the supposed relics of St. Santiago (James) on another day. Loads of restaurants, shops, the usual touristy stuff. There's a little "tourist train" that costs about $12 for 2 seniors -- during the 45 min. ride, a recording in many languages gives you the latest info.

We were very centrally located to the cathedral and all the tourist areas, and we also had a lovely little balcony overlooking the street below and passersby. The room was very quiet despite the location. Service was quick and friendly, and the best was a gelato shop next to the entrance. We were there for two nights and could have stayed longer if we hadn't had to leave.
