We liked the town very much, although it was pirate festival so not seeing it under normal circumstances. We ate at Beamer's and The Berry Head Hotel, both excellent. There is a vibrant working harbour and the whole place is very walkable. The pirates were fun too!

Brixham is a working fishing harbour, so if you like eating...
Brixham is a working fishing harbour, so if you like eating fresh fish it is a no brainer. The centre is based around the harbour and there are some short flat walks round the harbour and along the breakwater. There are several good restaurants (not all fish), two or three nice pubs, a wine bar and a cocktail bar. There are some wonderful views if you walk up to Berry Head and the old fort. You can of course walk the coastal path north to Paignton and Torquay or south to Kingswear and Dartmouth. Or instead take the ferry or book a longer boat trip. There is also the steam train from Torquay to Dartmouth which you can intercept at Churston.

Great choice for places to eat.
Great choice for places to eat. The walks around the area are so scenic but hard going if you are not used to hiking. Lots of places where you can just sit in peace and quiet. Worth a walk up to Berry Head and the forts. Some nice nature walks as well. Also walk up to the Battery and the coves just further along the coast path.

Beautiful harbour area and stretch of the South Coast Walk.
Beautiful harbour area and stretch of the South Coast Walk. It's a lovely town that does not have the winter shut down feel of some other coastal towns in the UK, probably because it is also a working port town so never really completely switches off.
We ate in La Petit Maison and Rock Fish; both fabulous restaurants that I can highly recommend and drinks/cocktails in Liberties on the Harbour front; also very much recommended.

We were returning to visit relatives.
We were returning to visit relatives.
Brixham is an historical fishing village with a great deal of character. There are many lovely places to visit in the area which are not too far from Brixham.
The coast is lovely with lots of places to walk and enjoy the seascape.
During the summer you can take a trip on the Western Lady crossing over to Torquay.
There are a selection of local shops were you can stock up on provisions without the need to go too far.
You can also enjoy a trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway, joining at the station stop on Dartmouth Road.
Kingswear is a short drive where there are beautiful views of the River Dart and neighbouring Dartmouth accessible by car or foot passenger ferries.

We liked the ease of access to all aspects of the town.
We liked the ease of access to all aspects of the town. The walk round the harbour to Shoalstone Pool and on to Berry Head is lovely. Lots to see. There are plenty of places to eat and drink in Brixham to suit all tastes and budgets.
Our room had a wonderful view of the beautiful Brixham harbour and the colourful buildings on the other side, probably the best possible view in Brixham.
Matthew and Rosie were excellent hosts. We were visiting Brixham with a view to possibly moving there and Matthew was extremely knowledgeable and helpful.
The cooked breakfasts were really good and if you're a lover of Marmite you'll be in for a treat - I had no idea it was made in so many flavours!
The room was clean and comfortable; homely.
The property was in a great location over looking the harbour with great views. It was very clean with lots of character. Rosie and Matthew were excellent hosts, very knowledgeable about the area. Breakfast was delightful with a vast menu of home made hot and cold food, freshly made, along with real coffee, home made yoghurts, cereals, jams and marmalades. Nothing was too much trouble. Parking arranged nearby. We didn’t use the car once since we arrived so much to see and do.
Wonderful service by Earl in the residents bar, made us feel more than welcome. Also shout out to Jacqui in the restaurant for working so hard to make sure all was done and leading a great team during the breakfast AND dinner service. The staff here made the stay and the residents bar was brilliant. Will make sure this is our hotel of choice for Brixham from now on and will be recommending because of how well we have been treated. Thank you
The character of this hotel is amazing it has so many interesting artifacts in it and things to look at. It's all decorated throughout so well. The stories and the history of this hotel are so interesting.
The location to brixham Harbour was brilliant a 5 minute drive and you are there.
There was plenty of parking and the breakfast was good.
The bar area was always busy with locals and guests alike. Plenty of outside seating as well.
Really great location , in one direction a short country walk to the beach and head the opposite direction 0.6 mile and you are in beautiful and characteristic Brixham , the best of both worlds . The apartment was spacious , well furnished and everything as advertised visually was there in reality , perfect for short and longer breaks .
Stunning Lodge, clean homely those extra bits that go the extra mile. The view are outstanding. So quiet. We can honestly say it was amazing perfect for a quiet break but close enough to the stunning brixham harbour. Lots of places to eat and drink, all dog friendly
This has to be my new happy place, can not wait to go back
Every thing else. Fab location. No need to use car at all. Added bonus the property comes with a parking spot (a premium in brixham :) ) House very clean, all mod cons. Living room has fab views of harbour. Nice separate dining area off kitchen. Best property weve stayed at in brixham.
The location of this boat is fantastic right in the heart of everything, the onboard facilities are good and the harbour facilities are also very good and easily accessible and the wildlife you will see is unreal a real gem. Will definitely be back.
On the dinner menu, I particularly enjoyed the chef's chicken and pork signature dishes. Though fish featured significantly on the menu, we had no problems over the wife's seafood allergy. Three good local real ales were on tap.
A well presented clean & spacious apartment ideally situated for you to explore Brixham and the surrounding area. Great views of the harbour and beyond. Our host Sarah went above and beyond to ensure an enjoyable stay.
A cute cottage close to the harbour. Beautifully renovated and decorated. Comfy bed and lovely facilities in kitchen and bathroom. Lots of space for 2 and a small dog, but could accommodate 4. Would stay again!
Welcoming & friendly hosts. Had a great view from our room. Lovely full English breakfast. It’s the perfect location to explore Brixham as close to pubs & restaurants. Great dog friendly hotel.
Nice welcome, very cozy, breakfast food and beverage available. Sound advice on where to park the car. Good live music in the bar Saturday night. Location handy for Brixham harbour and beach.
Loved location, great views & good to have a parking space. Breakfast was fabulous. Stephen, Arron & Linda all very friendly and helpful. Will definitely stay again!!
Located just in front of the harbour, parking is available, kitchen is fully equipped, plenty of space for 4/5 person. Everything looks new! Shower is nice and hot!
Ultimately we stayed here because dogs were allowed, but the location and views from the hotel were lovely and it was only a short walk into Brixham harbour.
The accommodation was superb, with possibly the best balcony view in Brixham, fantastic location for the town and harbour, the welcome pack was spot on.,
