Capital of the Republic of China (commonly known as Taiwan), huge Taipei is surrounded by mountains. Taipei 101, once the world’s tallest building, dominates its skyline from Xinyi, an area known for the most active nightlife.
At Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall the national flag is raised every morning and the guard changed every hour. Less known for tourists is National Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall, containing a tall bronze statue of the country’s founding father.
Taipei has tons of museums, but the best are Shung Ye Museum of Formosan Aborigines and the National Palace Museum – one of world’s largest collections of Chinese artifacts. Even more numerous are the temples dedicated to Buddhist, Taoist and Chinese folk religions. Xinsheng South Road is nicknamed "Road to Heaven" for its sheer number, but most famous is Longshan Temple in Wanhua, the oldest district.
Taipei shopping is fantastic and includes Core Pacific Living Mall, supposedly Asia’s largest. The Ximending area has lots of shops (and karaoke), while the Shilin Night Market should not be missed. For a break from the bustle head to central Daan Forest Park, the botanical gardens with its lotus ponds,or Yangmingshan National Park, known for hot spring baths and spring cherry blossom.
Whether you fly into Songshan or Taiwan Taoyuan Airport, the well connected public transportation system can take you to any Taipei hotel on Booking.com.

Taipei is a really colorful and functional city, with very kind people who are willing to help you find your direction around. I would highly recommend a visit to any of the night markets, and to try out some good Taiwanese 'Hot Pot'. The use of trains is the best and most affordable means to get around the city. Try the pineapple cakes too!

I like many places in Taiwan both natural and meseum.
I like many places in Taiwan both natural and meseum. Maokoong gonderla , Beitou Hotpring (should prepare swimming suite), National Palace mesuem- there is a lot of beutiful art to see. I went to Jiefen old street, the view is very attractive. I think the MRT transportation and bus is very convinient and cheap. We also found many kind taiwanese that ready to help you when you get lost. I with family will be very happy and will go back again. : )

Although the city got cleaned up and modernized a lot, it still has the magic it had around the millenium. It;s a bit like Tokyo and Seoul but Taipei has that perfect vibe of hard work, fun and tollerance that you cannot find elsewhere...

First visit and love love love Taipei. Friendly locals - got lost in a lane and a guy asked me to follow him to the main road. Even my rubbish Mandarin got me through as most people had pretty good English. Clean, safe and nice vibes!

Stayed 8 nights in Taipei did not travel out due to the earthquake situation. Taipei's Night Markets are over rated. I have been to 6 different Night Market they practically sell the same kind of food and not necessary as tasty as some of the You Tubers would like you to believed. There are better tasting stores than others but nothing really to scream about. But I loved their Pineapple super sweet eat it everyday . It is fairly easy to travel around the city in public transport.. I have been to Yehliu, Houtong, Yangmingshan National Park.,Jiufen ,Shifen Waterfall and Pingxi Sky Lantern. Fisherman Wharf and Keelung for seafood. Really wanted to experience Taiwan's unique Night Market Culture but was very disappointed.

MRT and high-speed railway are very developed in this city.
MRT and high-speed railway are very developed in this city. The cost is cheap and you can go to almost every destination.
People are friendly and willing to help.
City roads and stations are cleaned.
Only food, perhaps it's not suitable for someone like the healthy style because a majority of them are oily.
I had a great stay at Dandy hotel. Access is very easy as the MRT station is very close by. Location is central, it allows a very quick access to all places / tourist attractions in Taipei. Staff were very friendly, even if the room wasn’t big, it was very clean and comfortable, and also very quiet.
The hotel offers many amenities, such as a complimentary washing machine and dryer, which is great if you don’t want to bring too many clothes. Breakfast was good.
I would come back for my next stay in Taipei.
Large room, clean, very nice staff. Specially the guys at the door of the hotel. Such nice people. Good isolation in the rooms. My room was next to the highway and didn’t hear anything at all. I had a Taipei 101 view :)
Close to the hotel you can take the bus to Jiufen also close is a cultural center and some very nice cafes if you walk about 15 mins direction the Banaan line station. If you walk a bit further you have Matcha One café, expensive but soooo nice!
Perfect location, just the opposite of Da'an Park. The hotel is 1-min walk to Da'an Park Station, Red line MRT (exit 1) and 3- min walk to exit 6 which has an elevator for those who have luggages. 20-min to Taipei Main Station by MRT. There is also a snack bar on the B1 floor which you can have snacks and drinks. 7-11 and PX mart are also nearby, 5-min walk. The room is spacious. Water pressure in both shower box and bath are very strong which I love it.
The bed is very comfortable. It was clean (as far as I can tell). The staff is friendly and respectful. Hotel is located next to Taipei Main Station, so it’s convenient if you like to commute frequently. Powder detergent for laundry machines is free! The provided slippers were comfortable. The walls are surprisingly not that thin, so it was mostly quiet. You can only hear noise through the door and window.
The facilities is pretty standard, and because of the timing (during the New Year's timing) the pricing was about 4x what it should have been. However, we are very satisfied with the stay and how the CHO hotels are operated. The staff is fantastic, and the location is convenient for visitors and locals alike. I love the little touches they put for visitors to leave remarks and send postcards home.
The upscale decor and ambience inside the bldg, comfortable bedroom, nice jacuzzi tub although pressure from whirlpool is too weak.
Big park across street and various eating places make life easier.
MRT and buses right outside hotel
Nice hotel staff
Afternoon tea time. I missed most of it but they set a small tray of snacks in my room knowing I was out. That's thoughtful.
The staff of the hotel is super friendly. So no bad experience there.
The location is also fine; it's in the older area of Taipei, close to the MRT and there are a lot of restaurants and coffee bars within walking distance.
Note that cleaning of the room is done any other day and not daily (not an issue as at home I also do not daily change my bedding).
You get 5 star hotel service on a budget!
Mini fridge
Hair dryer
Free food and drinks on the second floor
Great retro vibe facilities
Very soft pillows and blankets!!
They could improve the bed with a mattress topper as it was a bit stiff
But all in all so satisfied! It was so cheap compared to the service and facilities we experienced!
Walking distance to:
Taipei Main Station
National Taiwan Museum
228 Peace Park
Presidential Office Building

The location was very convenient. Easy access to restaurants, fast food and stores.
The hotel provides extra supplies at the 7th level (toiletries, bottled water). Good wifi connection.
Great budget hotel conveniently located at the center of Taipei city, bus stop is right next to the hotel, lots of eateries across the street on Yanji Street, friendly staff, great public space for work and social, clean facilities, has washing machines and dryer.
The hotel's proximity to Taipei Main Station makes it extremely convenient for travelers who rely on public transportation. The easy access to the station allows for seamless exploration of the city and convenient connections to other parts of Taiwan.
Superb hotel with comfortable, large room. Staff was lovely and helpful. I particularly loved the onsen, Japanese breakfast and the large bathtub.
I would definitely come back to Mitsui Garden Taipei and have already recommended it to my friends.
The location was great and the staff were friendly. Room size and layout are similar to other hotels at similar price ranges (typical Taipei lower budget hotels). Lobby has some nice cold tea which was great to get refreshed after a long day out.
People working at the hotel are amazing! So friendly and helpful I felt like at hone. The location close to a small park with a pond with fish and birds. Close to everything you need. The restaurant is fantastic, great breakfast and dinner.
A convenient location, easily walkable from Taipei Main Station MTR station (the hotel and station are both easy to find on Google maps).
Rooms seem to be soundproofed so there was almost no street noise, despite being on a low floor.
It was a wonderful stay in our queen beroom with a balcony overlooking the park and Taipei 101! We stayed as it was our anniversary and we were attending a wedding at the hotel. Amenties, staff and hotel was amazing!
Room is big, hotel got a 7-11 inside which is a bonus, lobby is grand with the bullet lifts going up and down, a sight that memorize everyone (lots of people taking pictures)
I love that it sits in the middle of Daan, and very close to a subway station - Daan Park. I like the overall value of this hotel and I’ve stayed in many hotels in Taipei
