La Tour de Brazalem is a unique place of hospitality for 3 reasons: 1. LOCATION: The Tour de Brazalem is nestled in the centre of the old medieval town of Nérac, with all the historical royal sites and tourist attractions within short walking distance. 2. HISTORICAL, CHARACTER PROPERTY: The Tour de Brazalem consists of 3 old buildings which form a harmonious ensemble: 1. Two 13th century shops converted into a dwelling and linked to 2. An old bourgeois house converted to a furnished hotel in the 19th century and recently transformed into B&B rooms and 3. The tower of a 16th. century mansion house fitted out as a furnished studio and a charming B&B room with a panoramic view of the old town. An underground tunnel linked the property to the royal castle and was likely used as a secret passage by King Henri IV, Reine Margot and Jeanne d'Albert. The tower is considered one of the 5 remarkable monuments in Nérac. 3. TRADITIONAL FRENCH HOSPITALITY: La Tour de Brazalem is not a hotel, but an authentic B&B in the original spirit. Visitors are welcomed into the owner's home. Breakfast is served in the owner's dining-room. We try to treat guests as members of the family.
Nestled in the heart of the old town, la Tour de Brazalem is ideally situated to visit Nérac and the Albret region dear to Henri IV: NERAC: Henri IV's castle, the Garenne Park, cruises on the River Baïse, boat hires, the Albret tourist train, the traditional Saturday market and the evening local producers market ("Saveurs et Guingettes") in summer, guided tours of the historical city with or without Janouille, one of Henti IV's natural sons. ALBRET: Moulin des Tours, the bastide of Vianne, Moncrabeau with its liars circuit and festival, Mézin and its cork museum, Cauderoue and its acrobatic forest trail, the Albret golf course in Barbaste, The Tour de Brazalem is close to several restaurants. No need to use the car.
