The staff at this hotel are among the most friendly and accommodating I have come across. The facilities are excellent plus the restaurant serves high quality, good value meals. The hotel's location is superb being a 1 minute walk to a large sandy beach with sunbed's and shallow, clean waters. In summary a highly recommended stay with convenient access to Chania town, a very local beach and super accommodation and staff.

    Great choice...

Great choice... Manousos (key staff personnel) was very friendly and helpful... breakfast was exceptional... the view from the window/balcony in the morning was magnificent... spacious room and everything we needed was provided. Just the right distance from the old town and the nice beaches near Chania (like Elafonisi, Balos and Falasarna).

I think Kalamaki is for tourists who are a family.

I think Kalamaki is for tourists who are a family. Kalamaki is very closes to many beaches. which is great for children. You would need transport to get into the city centre if that is your thing. For us, we wanted to rest and Kalamaki was perfect for that.Having said all of the above the public transport system is perfect and you can get to the city centre of Chania /Chanion relatively quickly.

Kalamaki is a nice resort on the outskirts of Chania.

Kalamaki is a nice resort on the outskirts of Chania. It has several beaches, restaurants, and shopping all within walking distance. You can reach Chania quickly and cheaply by bus or in the other direction, e.g. Agia Marina. The residents were all very nice and helpful. We felt very comfortable and will definitely be back :)

The hotel was very good. Our apartment had sea and pool view. The main bed was comfortable but the two twins in the living room weren’t. The kitchen was pretty well staffed but a microwave would have been very handy Everyday they came to clean the apartment The people was very nice and in the pool happy hour was $5 the drinks When we arrived they told us that a guy would help us with the luggage but as soon as he realized that we were on a second floor and we had several luggages he disappeared Sunset was really nice from the bedrooms

The owner of the hotel, Mr. Stelios embodies the idea of Greek hospitality according to the most flattering stereotypes. Not only is he a reliable, polite, and easy-going, but he is also an extremely cultured and attentive person. The rooms are clean, bright, well-furnished, and comfortable even for larger groups of guests. The towels and bed linen were clean and smelled nice. The kitchenette was functional and equipped with lots of snacks and all basic tools. The possibility of parking near the hotel is a great addittion.

A beautiful experience in this place. Everything was close to perfection . Room with sea view, cleanliness every day (thanks Katerini). Kostas was a very good host, very helpful in planning escapades and guided us to places to visit and/or eat, helped us with renting a scooter (it was even brought to the hotel) and rescheduled our visit to an olive oil factory for the next day, and much more. Thank you Kostas and Katerini!

Private beach, pools, restaurant, sunset views and of course the amazing staff! Did extensive research (as there are many hotel options in Chania) before selecting this hotel for my first trip to Crete and it fully exceeded my expectations. Everything from the meals to the powerful shower to the comfortable bed was great and a big shout out to Ioannis (Yannis) as well.

We had a wonderful time at Elia Kalamaki. Everyone there was very welcoming and warm, we felt like surrounded by family. The breakfast was amazing and every morning we enjoyed a different selection of sweets. The rooms were clean and cozy and had a good size balcony. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come again.

It was nostalgic to have a nice, affordable and clean room with a balcony after so many years away from southern Crete. However this time there was a mini fridge, coffee maker and air conditioning if it got too hot to sleep. The family run pension is friendly and hospitable. I even got a ride to my new destination. Thank you!

Very good breakfast in an outdoor location, be aware that to get to the breakfast area or the pool there is a steep slope or steep outdoor stairs. Modern design “open plan” rooms. Be prepared for the shower to flood the area. Plenty of towels are provided- you need them. Good hotel and area for 2 or 3 days.
