This was the worst experience ever I went to the hotel after booking and paying for it got to the door and they refuse me at my entry they told me that I needed to pay more money on WhatsApp and if I didn't they would not let me in they left me out in the cold all night disgusting

You need to book well in advance if you want to watch the...
You need to book well in advance if you want to watch the Black Cats at the stadium of light! There is a nice railway connection to nearby Seaham if you want to visit. You can walk along the Wear through a sculpture park and the city centre is excellent for cheap food and drink.

Sunderland was good, but if you want 4* service at 4* prices don't go to The Grand. Only pub food and you make your own bed and carry out own room service. REALLY NOT ON. Good point, staff lovely and very helpfulAAnonymous - 10Scored 10

Sunderland is a lovely city with lots of things to see and do. The coast here is beautiful with interesting beaches and walks. The people we spoke to were welcoming and friendly everywhere we went. Everything the people were generous in there attitude towards visitors there was plenty to do and visit public transport was readily available prices across the board were comparable to normal residential areas unusual for a top tourist attraction

The hotel also has its own tea room, the cakes looked out of this world. We stayed for a evening meal package with breakfast the following morning. Could not fault the service the level of food was amazing. They produce their own Gin on site, I myself am not a Gin drinker but enjoyed the lemon Gin. The stay was excellent value for money would definitely stay again. The local bars was very welcoming also.

The facilities and the features in the rooms are excellent. From the refrigerator ( called cooler), the many wall plugs and USB plugs were active. They were all working. They did their best to make us happy and our stay as comfortable as possible after we complained about their air-conditioning. A bit further up the coast are more cafes/bars and Sunderland is a short Uber away. The main reception was very clean. The parking was handy and free.
