Hostel El Paredon, hotel in El Chalten

Located in El Chalten, Hostel El Paredon features a garden, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities.

Nice location beside the train station, a bit of a walk to the hikes but easily walkable through the town. We booked a private room, which was a small chalet beside the hostel. Nice and clean with heating inside as it could get cool at night but the heater worked really well. Staff were very nice, there was a power cut when we came but they gave us the room so we could drop our bags and have a rest before checking in.

Beautiful town, lots of places to eat and have a beer; know that the weather is extremely unpredictable and hardcore: we had insane winds when we there in beginning of April. We got lucky enough to see Mt Fitz Roy the first day we were there but every day after (3 days) it was covered in clouds, so take that into account for your trip!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures!

Amazing place that can be the base for many adventures! We planned our trip to Patagonia leaving more time for El Calafate, but we left thinking we would have preferred to switch this! In El Calafate, everything is much more tourist like and you need to pay for basically every tour you’re going to. Chalten felt more chilled and like you can just leave the hostel and go do your own thing without necessarily paying for an agency to take you somewhere. It’s a very charming little place with great food and local beers available, so very cosy and welcoming after a long day of hiking

We loved El Chalten!! The hiking is incredible! And the town is adorable. Love the little local food places. Since the weather is so variable it was nice to have an extra day in our schedule to wait for a clear day for hiking. We all filled it with horse back riding, climbing and birding so no one was bore.

Very helpful staff, in particular at check in and the hiking guide who was available with excellent suggestions each evening. Our trip was even more enjoyable due to some of the hiking recommendations. The view of the valley from the bar and restaurant is stunning and the hotel has one of the best locations for views in El Chalten. Breakfast had a nice selection, we particularly enjoyed the fresh fruit each morning. The jacuzzi area was a nice addition. Beds were very comfortable.

The location is very good. Staying in El Chaltén is expensive, so La Huella is a fordable option (room with private bathroom). It is not luxurious, but offers you all you need for a couple of months. Comfortable and clean room, warm water and fine heating in the room. Antonio, the owner is a lovely man always willing to help! It’s just 250 m away from the bus station.

I was so excited to stay in the apartment for my last night in El Chalten. I wish we’d stayed here for our whole trip. We even got an upgrade to a split level apartment which I wasn’t expecting. The apartment was so big and made such a change to other hostels. I would highly recommend and the breakfast was a lovely surprise which was given to you the night before.

Friendly and helpful host, lives with his family next door in case you need something. He built this appartment with his father. It's very beautiful and comfortable. Everything to cook is there. Nice location, easy to start hikes and because El Chalten is a small town, only 15 minutes walk from the bus terminal. Very good price/quality.

La Quinta is a little slice of heaven in the quaint town of El Chaltén. We cannot say enough about their help finding the best hikes, packing lunches, and providing the most relaxing spot a little outside of town (but not too far like some estancias we looked at!). It is a truly family run business and we 100% will be back!!

We liked everything about this hotel, especially the staff--so helpful and responsive! The breakfast was super--with high protein options (so important!). The room was comfortable: nice mattress, nice space, good views out the windows. Everything was great, except the thin walls and noise from the neighbors on the hall!

It's one of the few hostels at El Chaltén. Considering the location of the town, the place allows you to use the kitchen to make your own food which can help you to save some money if you're staying for more than two days.
