This beautiful destination was once a great inspiration for important personalities through time, including the Emperor Constantine I and Vincent van Gogh.
Home to the Roman baths of Constantine, the necropolis of Alyscamps and the Church of St. Trophime, Arles is a perfect example of a city perfectly combining the ancient with the modern. Built about 2,000 years ago, the Roman Arena (Arles Amphitheatre) is an imposing landmark, hosting bullfights during the festival of Feria d’Arles.

For me, Arles is one of the most interesting places to visit in France. With its 1st century Roman ruins, Van Gogh's history there as illustrated through many of his paintings, and the beautiful Carmargue horses and delta environment, there were so many wonderful things to do and explore. The highlight of my trip was at the Domaine de Mejanes restaurant where we magically enjoyed the music of two nephews from the internationally renowned band Gipsy Kings! As it turns out they are from Arles and the family performs often at restaurants in the area. We cant wait to return! One note - if you ride the horses in the Camargue area be sure to bring lots of mosquito repellant as the waterways are a natural environment for them.

Beautiful, walkable city retaining its character with numerous roman ruins and historic sites. Fun to explore tiny side streets and great restaurants. Watch out for the Mistral - you might need layers or a warmer jacket!

It doesn’t get so many tourists but tourist traps abound. But if you look selectively for a good restaurant you will find several and we had four outstanding dinners. It’s small but cozy and clean with lots of cute squares for tea or a drink. Several good museums and roman monuments. Four days is not too long.

The Easter feria is a good time to visit Arles, although food and service can be as low as 'poor'. Plenty of culture from Roman ruins to street bands. Excellent and elegant Museum of Arles. Wonderful street market on Saturdays with high quality goods. Shops, ranging from very high end local produce and clothing, to convenience stores, most open all (public holiday) weekend.

Arles is just gorgeous, but I also really recommend a guided trip into the Camargue, stunning nature and history. We were guided by Christophe from the official guide association, great experience. Also, the saturday market is a must! A lot of great things on offer to take with you on a picknick in the country-side just outside of Arles!
It was pretty cozy country side hotel. It's beautiful place to stay in Arles. I think the location is also good to go everywhere. Pretty small town in Arles so you can go everywhere in 10min? And staff was very friendly even my train to Paris was canceled by strike however the staff tried to find the other way to Paris. It tooks long time to do that but she was very kind to help me. I'm so impressed what I had in Arles and Maison Volver. Especially the cotton linen was very comfortable to sleep.
Our stay at the hotel was very pleasant. The two reception staff were always very helpful. The location of the establishment, dozens of meters from the amphitheater and a little further from the Forum Square and Republic Square, is really perfect. I did not use your breakfast, as I preferred to have it at the savoirs et Terroirs cafe, down the street.
I would recommend the hotel to other guests and, should I ever return to Arles, I would be very glad to use it again.
Excellent hotel with warm, friendly and accommodating staff who were able to help with all of our needs throughout our stay! We had a room with an incredible view of the amphitheatre which really topped off our stay. Coffees were great and the small touches like refillable water bottles were very much appreciated. Definitely check out the spa whilst you’re there!
Location is also perfect for all the sights that Arles has to offer!
The nicest hotel in our Provence trip. Just outside Arles, ideal to visit the city, the abbey of Mont Major and the Camargue. Very clean. Excellent staff. Very nice room with an outside terrace on which you could receive your breakfast. You also received some free drinks. The swimming pool is of a reasonable size with enough sun loungers for all the guests. Parking is available at no additional cost. Highly reccomended!
Excellent small hotel, perfect for exploring old Arles. Good value secure parking ( less expensive than on street)
Nathalie was a friendly and efficient host. Would highly recommend.
We had a beautiful large room with a terrace on the first floor, extremely comfortable bed with quality linen….. felt spoilt!!!
Hope to see you again Nathalie.
Location is great in the Old Town and everything is within easy walking distance. The apartment is spotlessly clean and has everything you'll need to feel like you're at home. Bedrooms are spacious and beds very comfortable. Communication with the host was smooth, check-in very easy. If you're going to Arles, this is the place to stay.
Comfortable, spacious with beautiful living room, patio, dining room. Quiet and peaceful, with amenities nearby, and just across the Rhône from the busy parts of Arles. Exceptional host, personable, fun, friendly, with excellent suggestions of places to go, things to see and do, places to eat.
The property is in the perfect location, next to one of the most picturesque neighbourhoods of Arles. The room was extremely clean and the staff nice and welcoming despite us arriving later than expected. Free parking is available right behind the hotel.
Amazing location. We had a great view of the alley from our spacious room. The atmosphere was cozy and the entire hotel was decorated nicely. It had great breakfast and included filtered coffee (it’s a nice break from espresso)
The location is excellent. Brit Hotel is an easy 5 minute walk from the train station and is next door to LaVolver, one of the better eateries in Arles.
The lift is good sized and works.
Everything was excellent. Our hostess even provided us with fruit and several bottles of water. The two terraces were very comfortable with fabulous views of the rooftops of Arles.
Terrific location for visiting the central area of Arles. The staff were exceptionally helpful in guiding us by car to the hotel and parking on Saturday market day.
We came for the Arles Photo festival, even the hotel not the closest for Arles downtown, but that hotel was the best! Clean, comfortable, very nice staff!!!
Great hotel in great location. Unfortunately, I only had one night in Arles, but I'd like to come back and would definitely stay at Relais de Poste again.
