Amazing staff, consistently cheerful and committed to ensuring customer satisfaction. We were offered a room upgrade due to a leaking ceiling in the original room. Conveniently situated by the river, close to numerous shops, restaurants, and bars, with a delightful swimming pool.

This will be probably the only real and true review you may read about this place (except for a detailed one posted on google by a guy 8 months ago that unfortunately I just saw after being to the place). The whole place looks from outside an abandoned hotel direct from the movie The Shining!!!! All windows are kept shut, probably because the renovation was done on the cheap and they are hard to open and close. There is nothing to do around it. i was lead to believe it was in the middle of park for hiking - it’s not. My fault probably… so be aware. The only facilities are a big dining area and a jacuzzi outdoors. No comfortable garden furniture available to relax and enjoy the view. The bedroom was clean and renovated nicely so i spent most of the time there. The staff was helpful to my request of reducing my two night reservation for only one. Internet was really good and staff kind.

The Rikitiki is a characterful place right on the river in the centre of Kampot. The 2 bed room was spacious with a high ceiling and local timber features that are beautiful and it was a treat to stay there. The aircon works well with the fan and keeps cool enough without feeling cold at night. Breakfast upstairs in the timber traditional style looking over the river is not to be missed.

Quaint little laid back town with really nice French...
Quaint little laid back town with really nice French colonial architecture. The promenade on the riverside is beautifully lined with trees. A lot of nature and amazing views of the river and the hills. A nice short trip getaway from the hustle & bustle of Phnom Penh.
Day one - Spectacular sunset in front of the river while sipping a drink.
Day two - Enjoyed the tour I took of the pepper plantation, the cave, salt fields and Kep seaside. I ended the day with a sumptuous Portuguese dinner at Tertulia by the river. This place is a bit away from the center.
Day three - had a fun and educational Khmer cooking lessons at the Kampot Seafood & Pepper restaurant. The ladies over there were so sweet, nice and patient with me, trying to learn 3 courses. It was very well worth it.
I wish I stayed longer! Will definitely be back soon!

My stay in Kampot was nothing short of enchanting.
My stay in Kampot was nothing short of enchanting. The town exudes a romantic atmosphere, thanks to its rich French history reflected in the captivating architecture. As a photographer, I found myself captivated by the quaint streets adorned with French-inspired buildings and the iconic tuk-tuks bustling about. It felt like stepping back in time to a bygone era. The abundance of charming cafes and restaurants offered a delightful dilemma of choice, with cuisines ranging from Turkish to Khmer delights. Exploring the riverside and soaking in the vibrant energy of the town was a highlight, though I regret not having enough time to venture to Bokor Mountain. Kampot truly deserves more than just a short visit; it's a place to be savored and explored at leisure.

This is such a lovely place to visit apart from the blatant sex industry that makes much of the nighltlife seedy and uninviting. There are lots of single western middle aged men filling up the bars which made them totally unsuitable for women or couples. Otherwise there are some wonderful places to go, we found some super bars and had incredible meals at Rikitikitavi for Khmer as well as western food (we had 2 meals there, both Khmer, both wonderful) which has a lovely vibe, and Simon's, a bit like a canteen but wonderful paneer curries. Go to Epic Arts Cafe, fantastic food and a social enterprise cafe for children and young people with disabilities, it's amazing. It is clear that Kampot, and indeed Cambodia, has been hit hard by Covid and is still recovering, for example the town's museum has not reopened, so travelling here is going to help hugely, but the rubbish strewn around everywhere is unappealing. The markets are very local and a real insight into Cambodian life. We enjoyed the Kampot pepper farm expereince at La Plantation, the staff were great, it is a socially responsible venture and lunch there was incredible too. Roads are a bit hectic and in places in poor condition but you can see some investment in place for repair works. We still enjoyed exploring the area on a moped. We travelled here in comfort from Phnom Penh with Giant Ibis. We left Kampot to go to Vietnam via Ha Tien which worked well but was far more chaotic and the tiny minibus we were on was very ropey indeed! However, Kampot is an excellent base for the region, shame the train travel is so limited.

I live in Phnom Penh, so Kampot is my short break location of choice. It is just 3 hours by private taxi ($50 each way) and it is a small peaceful riverside town with many nice options for food and relaxation. Some of the hotels have pools but they tend to attract largely families with small children. There are lots of places to explore nearby and can be accessed by tuk-tuk or you can hire a moto. Definitely worth a visit if travelling Cambodia.

Great place to visit to enjoy the area surrounding it.
Great place to visit to enjoy the area surrounding it. Filled with restaurant and bars, super convenient and easy to find anywhere eat or drink for reasonable prices. We stayed centrally but suggest staying slightly farther out, as the central area is easy to walk or get to from across the river and you get more for your money slightly further out -- food and hotels. Not a good place for shopping, the night market was fairly dismal. Kampot is where to go to see wondeful natural sights, enjoy local cycling and the 'real' area, the pepper plantations, or to spring from to do a day trip to Kep.

I've been travelling to Cambodia regularly for nearly 20...
I've been travelling to Cambodia regularly for nearly 20 years now but only in the last few have I discovered the delights of Kampot. It's a buzzing town with a much nicer atmosphere than the in-your-face brashness of (eg) Siem Reap.
Kampot has a thriving expat community and a smattering of tourists. A wide variety of Khmer and western bars, restaurants and accommodation. Take a walk round the Lotus Pond - a tranquil oasis close to the middle of town - stay until evening and the area transforms into a colourful spendour.
Kampot is a great choice for those looking for a relaxing town break in Cambodia.
Location is great if you don’t want to be right in Kampot town. I had originally booked a hotel in the town but changed my mind last minute and booked the last available room at Sabay Beach - I’m so glad I did! The food and the staff were the highlight of my trip. Everything I ate there was incredible, as were some of the cocktails I sampled! They also have craft beer from Cambodia.
Unfortunately it rained my whole trip so I didn’t get to make the most of riverside activities, but it was such a relaxing break nonetheless.
Rooms in the back are quiet with good wifi. Location is excellent with view of the river, very close to the Old French Bridge and the boats to Kep ($15 return) or the sunset cruise ($5 including a free beer). Also close to many many excellent restaurants, including Vanna's, Twenty Three Bistro, & Kampot Seafood & Pepper (where you can also take a Cambodian cooking class). Also, just in front of Vanna's (on the same road as Good Morning Kampot) a baker has a stall in the morning selling excellent breads & pastries.
We had a very pleasant stay at this hotel. It is a family run business with two very cute dogs. Everyone speaks English very well and is very polite and helpful. Ben supported us with booking massage sessions nearby, arranged transporatation and motorbike rental. With his guidance, we could make the best out of our stay (inspite of travelling during monsoon season).
Facilities are kept very clean.
Kayaks are available.
Location is quiet.
Breakfast is available with extra charge.
The hotel staff was very accommodating. I had earlier booked a higher room via booking.com but decided to change rooms which they were willing to accommodate. The jungle room has a nice shower, and although it does not have a window, the glass overlooking the "jungle" provides enough lighting in.
Location - it was about 10-15 minut walk towards the riverside and a short tuktuk ride away.
Breakfast was good. Overall the stay was comfortable and Staff was nice.
We had a wonderful stay here. The room was clean and well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Staff was excellent. Location can't be beat - just steps away from the Durian roundabout and a wide selection of amazing restaurants. We rented scooters directly from the hotel and they were great! We ended up extending our stay for an extra night because we loved Kampot so much. Would highly recommend!
An exceptional hotel and very nice staff, It's just a couple of metres from the Riverside...a new hotel with an elevator, clean spacious rooms with street balcony..top floor bar overlooking Kampot and the River is beautiful at night..food was lovely...very nice central location and you can hire scooters from the hotel...The Park Inn is a little gem and well priced...definitely will stay again
The overall environment is so good !I love the pool and quite environment around the resort. They offer free shuttle to the town which is convenient for me to the town. everyone there really helpful and made my trip more enjoyable. Thanks to RiverTree Villa & Resort Team I will choose this resort again for my next trip to Kampot.
This is a 6 month old hotel so all features and facilities are very smart and new. The staff are all lovely and friendly. We particularly enjoyed speaking with Lita. We ate on the rooftop bar/restaurant both nights of our stay. This is one of the higher buildings in town so you get great views at sunset and a nice breeze.
fantastic place to stay. facilities were amazing, staff very kind. although its about a 30 minute walk to town, tuktuks are around 5,200 riel so its worth it especially as there a few other hotels with a pool in the area. we loved it so much and even extended our trip here. thank you so much!
Very spacious and light room with panoramic view over the city and nice balcony. The kingsize bed.is comfortable. The shower is lovely, lots of hot water.
Staff speaks English and arranged a motorbike for us and the next day a tuk-tuk to take us to Kep.
William is a great host, very helpful and attentive. Very very quiet and safe place, even if in the center of Kampot. Food there is delicious and pretty cheap. Kids loved Netflix on a huge tv in the room, and the mini golf In the hotel.
Nice place along the river. The staff is really nice and the food excellent. Good breakfast. If you rent a scooter (it was not possible at the hotel, we rented it in Kampot), you can easily drive around and visit the region.
Beautiful surroundings, lovely room, friendly and helpful staff including free car into town. Breakfast was good and the swimming pool beautiful. We also had a stunning complementary boat trip along the river by the hotel.
Our absolute favorite after 10 ten years visiting Kampot and being hosted by many other great hotels, hostels and resorts. Perfect for groups and families, very child friendly and a perfect oasis for nature lovers.
We loved how remote and peaceful this hotel was. You could use kayaks and paddle boards for free and you could also rent motorbikes if you wanted to go to town or see other things in the province.
Everything was great, room was as described. Great deal for 2 nights, close to town & everything on your doorstep.
Owner was super friendly & helped us book our trip onwards to Kep,highly recommend.
Lovely quiet hotel just outside the centre of town. The room was very nice and a good size but the bathroom was a bit cramped. The restaurant/cafe is good and the staff are really nice.
The hotel is located 15 min from the riverside.
The family that runs the guesthouse is super nice.
The owner helped to book bus tickets and some tours.
