I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me.
I was in Chania for 4 days and it wasn’t enough for me. I’d recommend At least 5. The medieval town is breathtaking, you can walk through time travel on cobblestone streets that narrow and get a half liter of wine for 5 euros each and have dinner made my locals family for 5 euro. I ate a gourmet dinner on the boardwalk with a carafe of wine dinner for 2 only 65 euros and it was the most amazing food I have ate in my life. I highly recommend.

Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food.
Stunning place, wonderful people and delicious food. Nea Chora beach is fantastic and there are many restaurants and cafés to choose from. I love to go before and after the high season. Easy to rent a car and drive around, the driving experience was fantastic, good roads and signals. People drive sensibly and there is free parking all over the island with no tolls at all.

The old town is lovely full of independent stores selling leather goods, clothes etc. Eat at one of the restaurants overlooking the port and lighthouse for fantastic views. Loved the backdrop of the snow covered mountains while basking in the 26 degrees sun despite it still being March.

We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town.
We loved the Venetian port and the Old Town. One of our favourite places was a restaurant called Paradisiaco in the upper part of the port on Theotokopoulou Street. It is a very interesting neighbourhood. A beautiful art shop with a friendly owner is in the same area. Another good restaurant is Maridaki in Maridaki Steet.

Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food.
Its a quiet, mountainside/seaside town with amazing food. I dont think I had one bad meal there. The beaches are amazing and the water is a crystal clear green/blue. I'm sure there are lots of activities and things to do involving hiking and snorkeling. If you're looking for lots of shopping from big retail, I dont think this is the place for you. A lot of the shops are local businesses.

A very good place as a base for the western part of the island. When visiting the eastern or central part, it is better to move around. However, the western part is famous for its greatest attractions.
Helena Hotel is the best experience we had on Crete. The room was super clean and well equipped, but what the most important – is the view of the city center from your window. I found extremely satisfying just watching the city living, and our room was the best spot for it. Great thanks to the guy from the reception (I am so sorry not remembering your name!) who recommended many delicious places to visit. We covered several of them and every time it was something worthy.
Will return to spend more time there.
Highly recommended
The people! The people! The people!
The staff went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed every corner of Crete with their personal experience as natives to Crete. My biggest joy was sharing my experience with Manos to a place or restaurant he recommended. When I come back and tell him how great it was, his excitement seemed as if my happiness was his reward. I’m not really planning on going back to Crete, I’m planning on going back to see Manos, Maroof, Catarina and Miss Kitty and her adorable cat. Ifcalistu Amphitrie Hotel!
The property is in a superb location. It has spectacular views from the rooftop. The owner (6th generation) attended at property daily to greet guests and provide helpful tips to ensure you are maximizing and enjoying your stay. I always book five star resorts/hotels when I go away, and this property exceeded my hopes for an exceptional stay. The room was more spacious than I anticipated (2 children, 2 adults). We felt like we were in a picture book. I will always stay at this property when returning to Crete.
The location is amazing, is literally in the old town, where everything happens. 5 minutes walk to the bus station so it’s easy to move in the island.
The room was very clean and very cute, and everybody was taking photos of the building; it was adapted to the culture and architecture of the town.
The staff was very very nice, explained us different activities to do, how to move around Crete, provided us with a map, and solved all our doubts.
Definitely would recommend it.
We loved our stay at the Kedrissos Hotel. Everywhere is immaculately clean and the staff are all delightful and we felt very welcome. We walked to the beach in 10 minutes, to Chania Old Town in 40 minutes and to the supermarket in 5 minutes. The hotel is near to a main road with bus stops but is set far enough back from the road to be peaceful. The swimming pool and restaurant are so clean and the food is very good. We will definitely stay again when we return to Crete.
Wow, amazing. I really wasn’t expecting this high quality of a room for the price I paid. Everything is high quality; from the comfort of the bed to the high tech air conditioning you normally only find in 5 star hotels. The location is also in the heart of the heart of the old town and yet was still quite at night! A bottle of wine left for me as well :) I will always try and book this place whenever I visit Chania. Excellent communication by staff. Highly recommended.
Perfect location, great staff, near to all atractions&restaurants, even city beach was 10minutes away. There is even a travel agency next door where you can rent a car or book a trip to many places in Crete or even to Santorini. Very nice breakfest, including a veriety od eggs a la carte! If I’ll be back in Chania I’ll definitely be back to this hotel! Also big thanks to Stefanos who helped us with transfer from and to the airport :)
Beautiful hotel tastefully decorated in Art Nouveau style. Quiet, large room was exceptional with quality wooden furniture, marble bathroom with window and large shower, and balcony overlooking city park. Everything was very clean. Breakfast was excellent with savory and sweet items and lots of fruit and juices. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Will definitely stay there again as Chania was our favorite spot on Crete.
friendly & helpful staff, guy who handled valet was a superstar
great value for money, best hotel we stayed at in Crete
huge room & balcony
beds were extremely comfortable
interesting variety for breakfast
relaxing pool area, small but very cozy
extremely clean, room was spotless
valet parking
lovely cocktail bar, lady working the bar stayed slightly overtime for us which we greatly appreciated
Brand new hotel very well situated close to the airport and the city center.
Marvelous view and very nice rooms, along with excellent wellness facilities.
Very nice and comfortable room with private pool.
Excellent breakfast served at the room's terrace by the pool.
Staff very polite, professional and friendly.
An excellent choice for a stay in Chania - the most beautiful city of Crete!
Perfect location right in the chania old town city center with access to amazing restaurants and bars, super helpful staff and beautiful spacious rooms. We were 3 people and booked 1 suite, the sofabed/ mattress for the 3rd person was super comfy. Even though our stay in Crete was short, Greg helped us plan it with the best recommendations and arrangements. Highly recommended 👌
The location was perfect! It is in the middle of everything. If you are planning to stay just for few days all the places like the port, new town, old town etc are a very short walkable distance for the hotel. The rooms are big and very clean with balcons viewing the city center. The breakfast is very simple and tasty with the best fresh orange juice i have ever tasted.
An incredible hotel situated in the heart of the old town of Chania, Crete. The suites have the most beautiful panoramic view of the port and the lighthouse. They are spacey and have everything a visitor could ask for, during his accommodation.
We definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay there again.
Truly the best hotel in the old city with the best view!
This must be the best 3* hotel in Crete! Great pool with service, lovely staff, hard to beat views of the harbour and sunset. Great food and drinks offered in the rooftop restaurants, service running till 12-1am. Suitable for those who like to be slightly removed from the beaches. Hotel also offers free transfer to and from town of Chania. Highly recommended hotel.
Good location in front of the sea, you can see it from the window of the room. With a 10 min walk you are into the old town, in the center of Chania. In 2 mins you are on the highway of Crete, that brings you everywhere in the island. Very friendly personnel that help you in any way.
The flat is very nice, clean and comfortable. It has big balcony. The owner is really nice person. He gave us tips and recomendations. There is a private parking spot. Chania old town is 30 min walking from the flat. We are happy that we choose this apartment for our stay in Crete.
Nice little beach front hotel. Walking distance to the old port (about 2km - but nice seafront route). People are nice, theres immediate access to a beach (although not the best in Crete!) and there's free parking as well. The place is clean and they bring fresh towels every day.
Good location in the middle of old town. Perfect for one night stay while thinking where to head in Crete during the next days.
It was nice to sit on the balcony to have a breakfast. There is a fridge in the room to store breakfast stuff.
I slept really well.
Amazingly helpful staff. The location is great to explore both the old town of Chania and the best beaches in Crete. Super clean. We loved our stay here.
