The grounds are absolutely gorgeous, and the rooms comfortable. When we arrived, the staff greeted us warmly, with complimentary espresso, fizzy water, and delicious cookies in a beautiful room in their main hall. The breakfast was very good, but mostly pastries (this is not uncommon in Italy: but we are American hikers, so we like more protein in the morning). We noted some people on this website complained the place smelled like a barn: well, this is an agricultural B&B: they are raising and milking water buffalo… for the Gargano mozzarella that is famous in this area! We enjoyed visiting the buffalo: they were very friendly. And in late April, we did not notice any off-putting animal smells in or near our rooms. The staff were extremely nice and accommodating. If there was ample hot water for showers and better Wi-Fi in the rooms, this place would be a “10”.
