This is a charming hotel, extremely relaxing and definitely with a character. Our room (26) was one of the best rooms we stayed in. However, keep in mind, there was no shower, just a jacuzzi with a pullout handle. It didn’t bother us. Hotel staff was very friendly. It was nice chatting to young gentlemen at breakfast specifically. Location is perfect. 10 minutes walk to the beach, but if you need beach umbrellas and chairs, you need to either drive for 7 minutes or take hotel’s free shuttle. Keep in mind that there is a pick up schedule to go back to the hotel, you can’t just leave any time you want.
There was one minor thing that bothered us. The breakfast started at 8 am, which is kinda late for us and for the industry standard, but, hey, it’s Puglia, I haven’t met a single tourist who spoke language other than Italian.
It was definitely a 5 star experience and we will be recommending Masseria Donnaloia to our friends.

We are happy that we avoided Bari and instead chose wonderful Monopoli as home base for day-trips across the region. While Monopoli and the cities in general are clean and tidy, there is one general issue for the region: Garbage. It's everywhere. Plastic, glass, you name it, is all littered along roadsides and even on the coastal pathways. The magnitude is staggering and it's such a shame.

I'm very glad I chose Monopoli over Polignano a Mare as a base for our trip in Puglia. Taste is, of course, subjective, but I think Monopoli is the nicest coastal town around Bari, it has a fairly big old town with a lot of quaint streets to explore, plenty of restaurants and even a good stretch of rocky, cliff-y coastline you can actually walk on, peppered with a few small beaches. I imagine it gets just as busy in summer but in April it was less crowded than Polignano and overall feels like there's more space. It's also very well connected, ~ 20 min from Ostuni, ~ 5 min from Polignano, ~1h10 from Lecce, ~30 min from Bari all on the main trainline we used everyday.

A perfect place to spend your vacation regardless the time of the year. Monopoli is very well connected with other tourist destination such Alberobello (by bus, near the train station) , Polignano a Mare (train), Matera ( by train, make sure to change the train at Altamura) and other locations.

Monopoli is a very clean and safe place where you feel comfortable exploring both at day and at night. The historic areas are perfect for pedestrians. We really enjoyed walking the pathways along the Adriatic Sea with historic castles and fortresses, the docks with fishermen returning with their catch, and the beautiful waterfront views.

It is a very nice place with lots of beautiful food, streets and people.
Before you visit Monopoli, I recommend that you get to know the history of Puglia and it's towns. The history is very interesting and helps to understand why this region looks the way it does.
Great location in Piazza Garibaldi - centro storico. Just walk down the (many) steps from the apartment and you are right in the center of the piazza with bars, cafes, bakery and restaurants surrounding you. Large apartment with a rooftop terrace to enjoy aperitivo and great views over Monopoli. The steep and many stairs may not be for everyone (no elevator) but we enjoyed the exercise several times daily! We also enjoyed the Moka pot for coffee in the morning. Convenient street parking (free on and after Oct 1) 2 blocks away.
Very spacious apartment in the I believe best possible location of Monopoli Old Town - right in the centre, a few steps away from the main Monopoli street, however still quiet and very homey. The owners were super nice and helpful with anything we asked them from getting an iron to informing us how to get around Puglia. The standard of the room - super clean and comfortable apartment with a great Jacuzzi bathroom. I definitely recommend for anyone looking for a romantic and qualitative escape to Southern Italy, and thank you! :)
We loved home Bibi for its authenticity in the heart of the old town of Monopoli not far from the sea, the best cafés and restaurants. It was quiet and friendly, the children played in the street and the old people sat on the porch in front of their door. It is a real feel good place. If you ever prefer to eat at home, the kitchen is definitely big enough and absolutely up to date. There is also a washer and dryer to clean your clothes if you need it. We were completely satisfied.
Excellent location, in the heart of the old town, restaurants, supermarket, beaches in some mins walk.
Well equipped with great airco.
Paolo, the owner is definetely the best host I have ever met.
He was open to change our room from the top to the ground floor due to the health issues of my husband, also he has taken us to the train station when we were leaving. He appeared every day and was very hands-on.
I do recommend this apartment for even longer stay in Monopoli.
We liked everything about it: the entire design and attention to details, the very engaging and nice host, who waited for us with a few things in the fridge, and explained whatever piece of information we needed + (and this is a huge plus) its location: near a market, a pharmacy, city centre & old town + 10 mins on foot to a cute sandy beach.
Monopoli has a really beautiful cathedral, and was overall a chic town to explore and discover a little bit of Puglia!
I like that the property is like 2-3 minutes away from the Center and it’s very near the beaches in Monopoli. The owner is very sweet and nice. She replied immediately if you have questions. My room (deluxe room) was very pretty I felt like a princess :) The ladies who prepared the breakfast were also really nice and helpful. The rooftop is gorgeous, you will have one of the best view in Monopoli if you are there. I can 100% recommend this place.
A great find for Monopoli. Extremely comfortable and well designed and furnished little apartment. Smack in the middle of the historic center for easy access to shops and restaurants. Reasonable walk to train station with good access to other cities in the region. Hosts couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating. Not a good choice if you can't handle steps to the upper floor.
Excelent location in old town of Monopoli, close by lots of bars and restaurants. super clean, spaciuos and had all the equipments which you can need for few days stay. host super nice, kind and always was coming with perfect suggestings about things to do or where to eat in the city. would stay here with pleasure next time! Thank you Francesca and Nino for your warm welcoming:)
Everything was perfect about this apartment. It is new, clean, spacious and very well located. The hosts are amazing also. They are so eager to share all their local knowledge which was very welcoming. This is the best accomodation we have had in Italy from the 3 times we have travelled here. Thank you so much for the most wonderful stay in Monopoli.
Exceptional hosts among Puglia's olive trees. Comfort, space and quiet as a base for exploring the region. But be warned: If Carla bakes her carrot cake, you will want to eat however large a portion you are served!
And Ulysses the Hungarian Vizla - if you know how to give him a scratch below the ears, you have a new best friend.
Riccardo is truly the best host you will ever meet. He greeted us personally, even when we arrived late into Monopoli, he made us delicious breakfasts and he answered all of our questions. He is such an energetic and positive person that he lights up the morning! Thank you Riccardo.
The owner & host of the hotel were super friendly & helpful. The location of the venue is well located (close to the beaches & the city. The room (luxury room) was amazing. We will definitely come back to Vittoria Emmanuelle if we ever visit Monopoli again. Highly recommended.
I’d say one of the best spots in Monopoli, views of the best beach in town. Quiet before 8am but very busy after that so best to get your swims in early if you like the peace. Perfect location close to everything you need. Offered transfers to and from location.
Everything was great, nice housekeeper, very beautiful and cozy room and there was a nice terrace on the roof with lots of places to sit. Breakfast was in restaurant near the hotel - fantastic Italian croissant (the best is pistachio 😃) with coffee/tea/juice.
Loved the location- it was perfect for exploring the beautiful village of Monopoli! We had 3 very nice beaches close by and still it was a great walk on the seafront to Old Town! Rocco was great at communicating and was always there to help!
The property is set within an olive grove. It’s small boutique with not very many guests, so it was quiet and serene. We really enjoyed having the pool. And it was central to many things in Monopoli.
Everything! The best location ever, in the heart of historic center of the beautiful Monopoli. Antonella is very helpful host :-).
We were in 6 (4 adults and 2 children) and it was very comfortable.
Beautiful modern and clean apartment in the great location of Monopoli’s Centro Storico. There’s an excellent seafood restaurant right downstairs —Pugliami.
Monopoli is beautiful and lively. The hotel room was awesome. The staff were wonderful, and the service was great. The included breakfast was very good.
